I have followed this instruction video to connect my Growatt datalogger but it fails every time! I tried both way to connect I can see and choose datalogger SN in my wifi connection but it always say No internet connection.I have ASUS ZenWIFI xd5 Router with Dual Band Smart Connection 802.11ax / WiFi 6 mode. I even tested to disable that mode and still got the same problem. I need feedback on what to do next!
Done the trick for me after my dongle lost connection to growatt server. Thumbs up!

BUT if you stuck and try 50 x times plus
try to set router to 40 Mhz and if available in china mode (something to do with range)

Great video. But I get blue blinking light at the end. "Connection failed" for 10 times I tried. The product is crappy, badly designed.

Thanks. I got stuck with the step where I have to connect to the datalogger-hotspot. My phone can't find the WIFI-hotspot with the name of the S/N of the datalogger
Hi the acces points name starts with ESP not the SN and it wont let me continue and it hasnt been possible with standard 2.4 ghz. Any ideas?
When I set Datalogger Configuration, I set SN and hotspot to the same name and it complains that "The cell phone and collector is not normal. Try to reconnect the wifi and click OK" I click OK, try to set the name and it repeats the same problem over and over.

What is the difference between Standard and Hotspot internet connection in the App? Does it matter?
They are just 2 different ways of connecting to the Wifi, it's good to know both just in case the other fails. Some customers have better luck with one than another.
So what got me is that I know that my dongle can only connect to 2.4Ghz and when I go to use the connect to wireless network setting my app gives me a choice of 2.4Ghz network or 2.4 and 5Ghz network, there is no option to go straight to the hotspot set-up. Knowing that I can't connect to the 5Ghz network I didn't bother trying until I thought wtf, I'll see what happens if I use the 2.4/5Ghz choice. When I clicked on that it took me straight to the hotspot and from there I connected to the dongles network, JGCXXXX and logged into it using the 12345678 password which bought up the config page, chose the router closest to the inverter in my asus mesh system and then concreted to the 2.4Ghz band on that and bingo, it was connected to my network. There's one more thing you need to do to get real time power readings and that is to make sure you have put the power meters NMI number, (national meter identifier in Australia which is found on your electricity bill), otherwise it'll show its connected but you won't get any readings until your electricity number is input into the app.
I just can not get it to work, plus too local supplier not interested.

I am having terrible problems reconnecting my growatt system since changing my wifi.. any help would be amazing.
The same is happening with me. Try and try 100 times, but always fail. I´m sure i´m doing everything correct.
What if I change my WiFi password and just connect my phone to it will it work or not?? Does Growatt take my wifi password?

My light has gone out on my dongle. It turned blue but has now gone out. Help? I am struggling to reconnect.

After 3 hours of moving between video and app I managed to connect via hotspot. We recently had fibre installed and lost connection to data logger. I contacted original solar installer- nada response. I contacted fibre installer- clueless. Thank goodness for your video and this comment on the password to use. I now need to go lie down in a dark room for a while😅

Shine wifi S does not work with a dual band router. You need a Shinelink S with Lan box and RF dongle
I have shinex.... it stuck on connecting to server even routet internet speed is 200mbps

Thanks. I found that the Hotspot password was not the same as the Serial Number, but 12345678.
