    I’ve been trying for nearly a year now to get the app to work since changing WiFi. I’ve tried numerous tutorials and even phoned the installer who were going to charge me £140 to reconnect the dongle. First go with your tutorial and it worked first time thank you so much for uploading this very straightforward tutorial.

    Excellent!!! I was going mad trying to figure it out!! Thank you!! Nice one..But to say…on my Growatt dongle version (fitted in 2023), you need to wait until a constant BLUE light on the dongle! And to reset it from GREEN (which is the colour on mine when it’s disconnected), you need to poke thru the hole where the light is - with a suitable little poker! - and then you can complete the steps nicely shown here….and Hey Presto!!

    Hi, I have a question. I've tried unsuccessfully to reconnect my dataloggers to a new Wifi. If I choose to reconnect via standart mode I must create new Wifi 2,4 GHz first and then connect the datalogger. Should itbe possible to open and use ShinePhone through my usual Wifi connection, or do I have to open the app every time only through the new 2,4 GHz Wifi?

    Thanks for a description of the mechanics of doing these connections. It might be useful to add an explanation of what the basic difference is between Standard and Hotspot. Presumably Standard is fine if the Dongle can easily read the house Wifi, whereas Hotspot creates a new Wifi for a more stable connection if the house Wifi connection at that position is poor?

    funny how the setup instructions are wrong on the manual and app as it says press and wait for the blue light. i have kept doing as per the app instructions to no avail. even their tech support said my password was too long. shortened it and still nothing. watched this video and you said do it with light on red, which i did and boom. configured and works as normal. cheers mate.

      Sound silly but how did you get the red light? I am really struggling - I can get the blue and tricolour lights but not red!

      @@RebeccaMacSweeney - it should turn red if a wifi connection cannot be found. its strange that its not showing red on your system. maybe its a new inverter?

      @@trevine33 no it is not a new one… it is driving me insane as just cannot connect it … I have green, blue and tricolours but not red… I have tried connecting hot spot and standard mode and it just keeps failing

      ​@@RebeccaMacSweeney - are you trying to connect with 5ghz or 2.5ghz - i think the inverter works with 2.5ghz. even so its strange that it wont revert to a red light when there is no connection. what colour is it in now?

      @@trevine33 I have spoke to my broadband supplier and it is both 5 and 2.5..... and dont want to turn the 5 off as it will effect everything else I presume? it is green, i press it once and it goes tricolours and then blue for ages...

    I am an IT Network engineer and struggled, as always a crucial part of the instructions are missing. For one I cannot use standard mode because a diologue box appears saying use Hotspot mode, the only option is Yes. Next on your video Hotspot mode you fail to mention that to connect to your Dongle's hotspot there is a default password for that hotspot, once I googled the default hotspot password I then successfully connected to that and was able to then use a drop down box to change the wifi from the old ssid to the new ssid then enter the new ssid password then the magic happens. Close! but not close enough, thanks for the frustration after dealing with this stuff all day.

    Hey, I was getting a message "The current WIFI signal is week. Please configure at a stronger WiFi signal place." That does this mean? I moved my location back and forth from the router to the Inverter, and repeated it, still the same message?

    I have reconfigured the dongle successfully after changing internet provider. The data logger says online but I’m getting no information from the system (solar or battery) and it says the plant is offline. Any ideas how to fix this? The only thing I’ve changed is my WiFi provider

    Changed new router and trying to configure but under the home WiFi network it never shows Serial Number to connect tried many times in standard mode or hotspot mode but same problem. Any solution??

    I get to position 3 it asks if code correct it is. I press big Done nothing happens, but when above I press set up, it takes me to Wi-Fi channels. Got here with both hotspot showing and too home Wi-Fi.
    All we have done is changed to BT from virgin.
    What am I doing wrong.

    when I go to the step to connect, i dont see a standard or a hotspot mode. I only see 2.4ghz and 2.4+5 ghz. I select 2.4ghz and give the wifi password (it is a modem which has both 2.4 and 5ghz enabled. it selects the needed band automatically). but in the end it says configuration failed. what can i do to connect to 2.4 ghz?

    I cannot get the red light to come up so cannot connect this way.. it is either blue or tri colour ... I cannot seem to get it red - am I doing something wrong?

    It doesn’t flash red when button is pressed on data logger, it flashes blue. Why don’t you mention what we should do now🤷‍♂️

      Flashing blue means it's connected to your router

    I have tried this several times with my iPad (I have it installed and working on my iPhone and iMac), but when I scan the bar code its comes up with the wrong numbers. When I enter the numbers manually, it accepts them, but does not add the device to the list. Any ideas??

    OMG YOU NEED TO HAVE THE FLASHING RED LIGHT IN ORDER TO CONNECT, THE OFFICIAL MANUAL SAYING BLUE LIGHT IS NEEDED IS WRONG!

      Interesting to read…on mine I needed a BLUE light to connect. There must be a few versions I reckon. There’s no button under the dongle on mine either - on mine you’ve got to press on the colour light to reset it…the light itself is the button…was driving me insane til I discovered that on mine!!
