Thank you for working on a mid to lower grade comic even knowing that what made it a lower grade could not be fixed. The Avengers issue presents better. It was worth the effort, and it was impressive to see your patience in fixing the spine roll.
I enjoyed watching your (unusual) technique for fixing the spine roll. It's a shame about stain on the RHS edge, but that spine abrasion on the bottom was probably the biggest factor.
Nice job on fixing the spine roll! I recently pressed my Journey into Mystery 112 (Thor vs Hulk cover) and I have a similar problem. The staples are perfectly aligned on the side, but the back corner sticks out 1/4 inch at the top and is hidden at the bottom. In order to make it straight I would have to do a similar procedure and the staples wouldn't align and the border would be crooked. I'm torn between leaving it the way it is, or trying to adjust it. It's probably about a 7.0 I'm guessing. Hmmm. Decisions.
I usually fix spine rolls in my press. Press flat then press with proper fold. Do you always do this by hand or was there something about this particular comic (like concern for the lower staple) that made you take this manual approach?
@@TopComicsPressing Maintaining the fold when putting in the press can be tricky. I'll try initiating the fold with the iron and setting the fold with the press. Thanks for the hybrid approach idea.
What's the best way to submit comics to you? Do you have a website? I couldn't find it. I looked at your Instagram and Facebook pages, and it wasn't clear what the best method was. Should I use the gmail address? Thanks!

DO IT!! Upgrade the appearance of you can. Remember - buy the book, not the grade! Good luck with it.

This one was for sure more delicate. But I almost always do by hand. Flattening the book in the press works. I am always nervous about the refold

Wow! That really wasn't worth the effort. I'd be a little bitter.
I almost always am. Grade does not always reflect eye appeal though
that is not a 4.5. maybe a 5.5 or 6.
I agree - was harshly graded. I think they killed it for readers creasing along spine

That's a darn nice 4.5. Totally agree that the spine damage at the bottom was the likely culprit.
