Sunfyre and Aegon had an extremely close bond and he flew him a decent amount. After Aegon’s coronation him and Sunfyre and Helaena on Dreamfyre did a few laps around King’s Landing in the books. Would have loved to see that.
I love how the show manages to breath so much life and personality into these fictional, CGI creatures with just subtle facial expressions and sound design. The way they whimper or squeal as they fight in the air almost sounds like wounded animals. It's masterfully done.
Wouldve been nice if we saw them just playing around before the war started. Episode 106 was the perfect episode for that. When the kids were all in the dragon pits.
It's pretty unrealistic IMO to have animals that size make the same frequencies of sounds that like dogs/humans do. Elephants for example use frequencies below human hearing
@@govinddas7876 Even if they are magical and fictional creatures, it's not a bad point to make. You can still have fictional creatures that have realistic characteristics in them. In this case the sound they would make based on their absolute size. Because it's not like the sounds a dragon makes has anything to do with magic. Your criticism would be more valid if we were discussing the realism of, for example, the way dragonfire is generated.
It really doesn’t. The show can’t even breathe life into the human characters who are all as dull as ditchwater. There are currently no stakes, no interesting characters, terrible green screens while some children and an old woman sit on a mechanical bull, and maybe the worst tactician in the history of tv who charges into a castle during the day, has maybe the worst sword swing I’ve ever seen on the history of tv during that beheading attempt, and just knocks himself out during battle.
Daenerys was the only Targaryen who was fire-proof. In the books, that was only a one-time thing because of a witch's spell. In the show, it seemed to be a permanent thing she had from birth, but it was still only her.
I mean it's definitely the case that targarians are more resistant to heat. Also it's not specifically said it was a 'one time thing' in the books and we don't see examples of Daenerys getting burned or anything.
Danaerys was a believer in the idea - she first commented "Fire cannot kill a dragon" when her brother was scalded to death. She also frequently handled the heated dragons eggs without injury which is in the books as well, so it's def not a one-time thing.
@@manzell Handling heated eggs is a higher resistance to fire and heat, but not immunity from it. I actually think making her fireproof was a great idea because it plays into the idea that the Lord of Light was protecting her so that she could be there when the Long Night arrived. Thank you, girls. You actually understand the character of Aegon (in the context of the show, the book is a whole different thing). Otto and Alicent basically screwed him for life because they always wanted a puppet so they never bothered to raise him right. They thought they could control him like Viserys in his final days and when they couldn't, they basically kept berating and making him feel useless. What happened in this episode is the culmination of that treatment. Which also parallels with what Aemond did, all the trauma and bad upbringing that Aegon had and him bullying Aemond basically had a climax with him choosing to not give a damn about Aegon and just trying to kill Rhaenys and him. Aegon and Aemond both victims of Otto, Alicent and Viserys' shitty parenting and neglect.
@@BhlackBishop True, Aegon did unforgivable things but things that could have been avoided had his family showed any care for him and his siblings. They're essentially still kids with nukes, in a position of power with neglectful parents. Things were bound to go wrong for them in one way or another.
In the books Aegon and Sunfyre had literally one of the closest bonds of all dragon riders who ever existed.. Poor boy, poor dragons don't deserves all this family drama. Honestly, this season is owned by Tom Glynn-Carney. Even when Aegon was powerless in the small council scene, he totally owned the scene. It’s bizarre because the writers clearly want the audience to like Team Black more than Green, but they made the Greens way more interesting to watch. Rhaenyra spends basically all her screen time wringing her hands and being indecisive, Daemon is off having a tantrum in the middle of nowhere and doesn’t have much character beyond “I’m angry”, and Rhaenys kind of just stands around looking smug/condescending. (except for the showdown ofc, RIP Meleys and Rhaenys)
@@vivien8417 i mean to each their own but Daemon is by far the best well written character in the show with Aemond and Alicent being the most interesting, ya'll are tripping
Also I love how this show draws parallels between Aemond and Daemon, even in this episode Daemon sees himself in Aemond and Ewan (Aemond's Actor) always says in interviews that Aemond is Daemon's biggest stan and that Daemon inspired him. But what this episode did brilliantly in my opinion was show us the ultimate DIFFERENCE between them, which is that no matter how angry Daemon gets with Viserys, no matter how many times Viserys banished Daemon, Daemon would never in a million years Dracarys his own brother. He also wouldn't allow his brother to humiliate himself the way Aemond did by letting Aegon fight Rhaenys. I always think back to when Viserys was struggling to walk to the throne and Daemon helped him get up there, Aemond would let his brother fall, and I love that stark difference between the "Second Sons of the realm".
@@oggiwaAlthough it is not said verbatim, through actions you realize that Aegon does love Aemond, his complicity in the 1x8 dinner and how they confronted the Strong Boys with blows, Aegon trusted his escape plan in 1x9 (It is even seen that Aemond agreed, but Cole arrived), trusting him, in the first episode of this season Aegon defends Aemond from Alicent, calling him his closest relative and calling him his best warrior with a smile, Aegon is a rude and drunk, it is obvious that he does not really know how to relate in a healthy way and love without doing harm, he simply never was taught to do it, neither by his mother nor by his father, in the end the result of his upbringing leads him to be who he is.
Well, Aemon is just a prodigy as a rider. After crashing, he spotted Rhaenys before she spotted him and maneuvered his dragon into a blind spot beside the castle walls. This is sort of like fighter tactics IRL.

aegon is a well written character i love his character. we know he is a bad person but looking at the reality he has been abused since he was a child by his family. he doesn't know how to love, he doesn't know how to communicate. and so for him it is something normal and continues the line of abuse as well as how they treat him. but still he really loves his family in a way. But what aegon really loves is his sons and his dragon, and on top of that, one of them has already died. his tragic fate just because he was the eldest male son to be king even when he didn't want to be. literally his family made him what he is. the actor is fantastic he did a great job with aegon.

@@enriquesanchez9016 I don’t understand why people are so hung up on the rape. Westeros is based on Medieval England. Rape happened all the time. You can’t hold humans from that era to the same standards you do now. If that’s how you’re going to look at his character then you’re watching the wrong show. I look at Aegon how I look at Rollo in Vikings(a show that Lola and Milena loved). Rollo(a character who they loved) rapes a slave in episode 1. Guess what? He’s also the most interesting character on the show before Ivar is introduced. I’m able to recognize this because it’s not fair to start judging human history until a certain point in time. Instead of being angry at Rollo for five seasons, I accepted that this was a different time and humans haven’t had a chance to truly learn yet and this allowed me to actually enjoy and dissect his scenes instead of seething in anger every time he’s on screen. The Dance of Dragons is based on the Anarchy, a civil war in England. Going by the time frame of that war, the Targaryen Civil War would be spanning the equivalent of the real world years of 1138-1153. I don’t judge humanity until the 1500s because that’s when we finally became what’d I’d consider civilized so any wrong done after that point is an abomination in my eyes.

Welp, no with Aegon out of the picture and with his son dying in episode 1, then Aemond would be king. Bro knows what he's doing, and to be fair to Aemond, he's way more suited for the role than Aegon ever was.
Aegon is the book's actually is a little more competent than his show counterpart. His bond with Sunfire in the book's is said to be th strongest and he's not a Rapist in the book's. He also says that he doesn't want to usurp Rhaenerys crown and in this battle both the brothers attack Rhaenys together but in the show he's made to look like an idiot.
I think Daeny's fireproof thing is very unique to her. Targeryens/Valaryians seem to have a higher tolerance to heat/fire than ordinary humans which would explain Aegon II possibly surviving.

She wasn’t being a “bad mom” to him at that point, she was just a kid trying to raise kids in a high pressure situation while viserys was absent and otto was gone. I think she also struggles to deal with aegon bc he’s a rapist and alicent has her own sexual trauma from being forced to be w/ viserys and experiencing marital rape, as well as dealing with larys sexual manipulation that started when she was young.
Alicent was not 15 when she had Aegon. In the books she was 19, and in the show she was 17-18. You have to keep in mind the time jumps in the first few episodes. She didn't have Aegon immediately, even after she was married.
well isnt she 35 now? at some point you do own your children guidance and love. She can speak to helaena with love and care about jaehaerys, she could talk kindly to rhaenyra in 1x8 but doesnt even spare a single thought for aegon who is in this place because of her and otto.

Aegon has no living son. Aemond is his heir and Daeron would succeed Aemond if he perished. Rhaenyra has her 4 living sons as heirs: Jace, Joffrey, Aegon, and Viserys. Also HOTD might be able to have been finished with 3 10-episode seasons but given that season 2 is only 8 episodes, we probably will get a season 4.

At some point it's just a matter of "well, if this isnt the result of your own behaviour!" instead of "Poor Alicent" lol
Reminder that this story, tells of a civil war that devastated and crippled House Targaryen until Robert’s Rebellion. For show-only fans. Someone does end up on the throne, multiple people do. But the end is tragic.
it makes NO SENSE to send just ONE dragon when Vhagar exists!! Is HBO going to say that Rhaenyra forgot about Vhagar?? It’s D&D all over again! And I think you guys forgot things from S1 - Otto believes what he said about Viserys. He sent Alicent to Viserys to set her up as Queen for power for House Green. He was power-hungry and wanted it for his family and lineage. He didn’t do it because he thought Viserys was a bad king or something
14:45 'Who speaks if your grandsire is incapacitated?" Great question! Any feudal system worth it's salt has a regency contingency in place for such scenarios, and yet there is seemingly no regent present in the Trident, either an oversight from the writers, things are far worse than what we see in the Riverlands and it's political system is nearing a total anarchy, or the powers that be in the Riverlands are purposefully moving Daemon in circles so as to prevent any commitment to either side of the war. The Riverlands historically have always gotten the short end of the stick during huge conflicts in Westerosi history, it is their people who get brutally killed, their towns that get sacked, their castles that burn the most out of all the regions in Westeros when a giant conflict finally occurs, geography wise this is sadly unavoidable as they are placed right in the center of all Westeros, it's not too outrageous to think that the current true power in the Trident, if they are shrewd enough, would wish to limit and halt any bloodshed for as long as possible, which is why Daemon is seemingly getting this runaround.
I'm so surprised how badly i feel for aegon this seaon his talk within alicent is so heartbreaking. The generational trauma has come full circle "do you have any idea the sacrifices to put you on that throne" is exactly what otto said to alicent as a kid
About Daemon's dreams, for me this was a sign that he's starting to doubt himself and has insecurities. He sees Aemond as the "next him" since he keeps getting stronger while he himself (Daemon) starts catching Ls Same withe the other vision, Rhaenyra speaks high Valyrian and he can't understand it, keeps getting frustrated, because he thinks himself unworthy since he disappointed Rhaenyra. This is the reason for the whole River lands conquest, he wants to prove himself again, to everyone, to himself but most of all Rhaenyra
Everytime showrunners gaslight us with Viserys the "great king/man" bs I cringe but what's worse is to see everyone hype that it's like people really have no brain cells
"If there was a way to get rid of all the dragons... I would be for them." How deep are they ready to go? Is it time to tell them of the Grand Maester Conspiracy?
i can't believe Rhaenys became so impulsive because she found out Corlys was seeing another woman and had a son in the low low. cuz she acted completely out of character (considering she wass the most experienced dragon rider alive) to for no reason return to 1v1 the biggest freaking dragon alive (vhagar) i remember her being calm and collected, calculated and definitely not acting on impulsive feelings... so instead of just peacing out and maybe return with backup she just went "Meleys... attack" Well i guess.. since they changed her hair from black to the targaryen color... they changed the fight whole scene (not for the better for her intellect) but i guess they did it for the cinematic purposes of giving us a little longer fight scene.
I don't know who told you it's only 3 seasons? That's not true. HBO has already stated they are shooting for 4, possibly 5. There is no way they can do this entire Dance in 3 seasons.

His mom is the absolute worst. I use to think Cersei and Kathleen were bad. But Alicent is just like here hold my keg(fuck a single beer)
@@mikevertilus8913 Cersei was bad because she knew Joffrey had a sadistic streak and she encouraged it and called it bravery but Alicent is the reason why Aegon is so pathetic and unfit for any kind of duty and she still have the balls to berate him for it, like girl if you wanted him to be king so bad you should've at least make the effort to try and raise a king
@@rexibhazoboa7097 Most reactors have fallen for the least interesting aspects of the show, which is to cheer for their good guys and hate on the bad guys. @@VictoriaTraducciones that's what I mean. She berates him every chance she gets, but had no issue with ignoring him as a child unless it was to yell at him. Then she's banging Cole who is supposed to have a vow of chastity and who she tries to shame Rhaneyra for sleeping with. As bad as Ammon is he at least had a good relationship with one of his kids

I'm not excusing him for anything, I'm just stating that what happened to Aegon is tragic and what Aemond did were just products of how badly they were raised.
Yea, but Viserys also loved Daemon, Aegon and Aemond share no love.
Vhagar is a damn cheat code! There's no reason something that big should be that sneaky, NONE!

But what aegon really loves is his sons and his dragon, and on top of that, one of them has already died. his tragic fate just because he was the eldest male son to be king even when he didn't want to be. literally his family made him what he is. the actor is fantastic he did a great job with aegon.

The guy is a rapist, that's the most important thing to "understand" about his character. I find it so weird how people are so desperate to find excuses for him.
@@enriquesanchez9016 thats definitely not the most important thing to understand about him lmao. Its unfortunate you lack the media literacy to understand the multitude of nuances that both the writers and Tom himself has put into his acting make him one of the most layered characters on the show.

In fairness, alicent was only 15 when she had aegon.
🤣😂
two things can be true at the same time. She's a victim, but also a terrible mother.
Alicent was not 15 when she had Aegon. In the books she was 19, and in the show she was 17-18. You have to keep in mind the time jumps in the first few episodes. She didn't have Aegon immediately, even after she was married.

And I think you guys forgot things from S1 - Otto believes what he said about Viserys. He sent Alicent to Viserys to set her up as Queen for power for House Green. He was power-hungry and wanted it for his family and lineage.
He didn’t do it because he thought Viserys was a bad king or something
14:45 'Who speaks if your grandsire is incapacitated?"
Great question!
He sees Aemond as the "next him" since he keeps getting stronger while he himself (Daemon) starts catching Ls
Same withe the other vision, Rhaenyra speaks high Valyrian and he can't understand it, keeps getting frustrated, because he thinks himself unworthy since he disappointed Rhaenyra.
We love your intros!!
"If there was a way to get rid of all the dragons... I would be for them." How deep are they ready to go? Is it time to tell them of the Grand Maester Conspiracy?
i can't believe Rhaenys became so impulsive because she found out Corlys was seeing another woman and had a son in the low low.
cuz she acted completely out of character (considering she wass the most experienced dragon rider alive) to for no reason return to 1v1 the biggest freaking dragon alive (vhagar) i remember her being calm and collected, calculated and definitely not acting on impulsive feelings... so instead of just peacing out and maybe return with backup she just went "Meleys... attack"
Well i guess.. since they changed her hair from black to the targaryen color... they changed the fight whole scene (not for the better for her intellect) but i guess they did it for the cinematic purposes of giving us a little longer fight scene.
I love your reactions 😁😁
