Surely one of the most joyous songs ever written and now, finally, a live version. Thank you Jane and a massive thank you to the band for finally putting this right and doing the song justice. This is a little bit of history right here.
Thank you! This was a blast to learn and to play with her (I'm on bass). I was stoked she agreed to do this song since I couldn't find a live version on youtube; figured it would be appreciated by her fans :-)
@@galtem Watching the Nite Wave videos makes me ask, why didn't she take her music on the road with a proper band for the last 20 years? The Go-Go's will now be cashing in on tour with the Hall of Fame buzz, but wow, what could have been.
This is so rare. An absolute diamond. The ONLY live version of this song I've ever seen. The audience are incredibly lucky to be watching something so rare. Jane always refused to play it live because she felt it was very difficult to reproduce live especially on her own. She hasn't even played it on her own with an acoustic.
@@starkiller007 Yeah she said in an interview some time back that she had trouble replicating this with an acoustic or playing it in practice so didn't bother. She's spent most of her time touring with a basic punk set up/band as a solo artist and because of the high production/synths there was difficulty. It was an interview on UA-cam but it was a few years back so don't know if you will find it.
@@paulgtarist neither is Cool Places. They do that all the time. They also do Belinda’s Mad About You. Even though Paula Jean Brown (Jane’s replacement) wrote that when she was a Go-Go) for the Go-Go’s 4th album after Talk Show that sadly never saw the light of day....
After an iffy, weak start, a quick rally for a dance-in-your-seat performance; at least that's the way it was in this car. Only wish Jane hadn't forgotten the peak-song bit near the outro, "you got me, you got me." Still, such a gem and a joy. A desert island list song for me. Weidlin turned out to be an artist I am more grateful for than even the band that spawned her. And this is a song I listen to, in some form, almost every day.
I can't believe the negative comments on this Video,To me Jane is an awesome singer and extremely underrated and I think her voice is the best,I really think she should have been playing this gem live for years, Excellent Performance by her and the band.
Ha ha, thanks and good catch :-). It was her first time actually performing the song live, so I REALLY wanted it to go well, and like an idiot I thought 2 bars on my bass wireless would be fine. When it cut out I was so pissed, you have no idea. Thankfully I had spares behind me. was so weird that it cut out right on a 1 in the solo. Just glad i was able to come back in by the time I really needed to. She never missed a beat or let on, total pro, and she was super sweet and cool to work with. There was no way I was going to let this get posted w/o overdubbing that drop out, we added it in the next week. I'm paranoid now about batteries and I always ensure they're full before each show. Painful lesson at a terrible time, but it all worked out fine :-)

Well done bro

Is that true? Where did you read that?

She used to mime it live all the time...
@@MarksMindBox because she was never a good singer. Love her but she was a little delusional leaving the Go-Go's
@@brandon.lewis. Hard to tell what she was good at, really, looking at the personnel lists on her records.
One of the greatest produced songs ever.. and performed by a true talent.
Ca on my man, one of the greatest songs ever???
She's so self critical, when the reality is she's truly amazing
On 2023 I found this song in live...thank you
Love this song.
Jane is a humble artist!
Love this song. Everyone in the band did an amazing job. Music like this brings joy to the world. Thank you!!!!
She still great but that dude cannot sing.
Should be in the set list of The Go-Go's.
I was just gonna say why won’t they play this w their set ?
@@devansafer4251 Because this isn't a Go Gos song. Belinda doesn't do her solo material with them either.

A trick: watch series at flixzone. Been using them for watching a lot of movies recently.
@Leonel Ryker yup, been watching on flixzone for years myself =)
She's still sounds amazing! Love her ❤ that was awesome! The whole band too!
Jane is my favorite go-go!!
She's become mine. I was enraptured with Kathy, but Jane is just as sexy and is a better singer and more prolific composer. Great lyricist.
Loved this, brilliant. Takes me back to my early teens. ❤😊
Banger. Thanks for posting 🙂
I'm totally digging the guitar solo on this version.
I still love you Jane.
Yep it never goes away!
Me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe she never sang this live since it's arguably her biggest hit. I have been looking forever for a live version.
Jane IS great--she officiated at my wedding, and not only did she ace her part, she made suggestions to improve the stuff I had forgotten.
Jane!
Damn shes still got it!🤘
Linda Jane...!!!
Amazing

She's as cute as ever ❤
That shit crowd didn’t deserve to witness this 80,s absolute classic.
