The German tank tree in War Thunder has plenty of Panther tanks, but there's one that might be my favorite. The Panther F has a modernized turret and a rangefinder, making it much more aesthetically pleasing.

i heard you hate british vehicles, vehicles that do no damage and vehicles that are basically CAS magnets, so i think you should play the ratel 90; a gigantic british light tank with no armor, that only gets 90mm HEAT with a 7 second aced reload and that somehow always gets strafed by planes before it's even allowed to leave spawn (day 90)

Somehow gets strafed. Man if i'm in a plane and i even glimpse a bit of a ratel that is target N°1 and is so large and always sand-colored you see it from space
The Ratel's HEATFS is decent if you know the target's ammo or crew layout (shaped charges have the highest chance to explode ammo in the game iirc). My only problems with the Ratel is that its acceleration is extremely poor off-road and that its gun lacks depression (Also rotates pretty slowly iirc.)
I only find success with it if I use it as a first spawn on more open maps, you have to be patient and know when to stop, get into a position where you can do A LOT of scouting and be able to safely reposition between shots.

But then failing on the most basic as 400-600meter side shots because the rounde bounces of a dumb as sideskirt pixel 💀🤡😢

Look at the AMX-13 SS.11 premium in the French tech tree.
And then look at the Type-60ATM in the JP tech tree (which is somehow the same BR)
That should explain just about everything for you.

Increase turrent thinkness only to flatten the turrent. Like building a bridge over a river just to swim across
It reloads faster and at range with pen drop-off it's actually good.
For manufacturing purposes, it would be significantly easier to produce more Panther turret mantlets. As a strategic decision, it was considered perfectly fine, because many Allied anti-tank guns (which were basically the same gun that Allied tanks used) on the Western Front struggled very much to penetrate the actual thickness of the turret plate. Unfortunately in WT, a Panther F doesn't fight a horde of 75 Shermans with a few 76s, it fights: Pershings, ARL-44s, IS-2s, Challengers, and T-34-85s.
I think it's ugly.

It's a smaller target at range, coupled with an offset gun sight, it'd be far harder to hit reliably than with the barrel camera in RB

Finding distances is always the most difficult part of the game, especially if a tank has that one weak spot you have to somehow hit at 600m

I think War Thunder should add infantry into the game. Not as playable entities, but as "equipment" that gets dropped off to capture objectives. That would allow for a slew of old APCs to be added, new functionality for the IFVs, new purpose for the bladed tanks, and new purpose for ARTY units. For example, an APC would drive to the objective and unload its infantry squad. That squad could only be dislodged by: a better/larger infantry unit being dropped off by the enemy, destruction of the objective "bunker" by multiple rounds of artillery fired indirectly, multiple rounds of large-caliber direct fire guns, aircraft bombs, flame-thrower equipped units, etc. Dozer tanks could also make fighting positions for infantry that would serve as fighting positions that would afford infantry the same benefits of the objective bunker. Just a thought; I want to see those old 1950s APCs trundling across the battlefields.

@@sharkface2.084 Enlisted is an FPS with vehicles, and not at all what I'm suggesting. Based on what Gaijin has been able to do in various April Fools iterations, I don't think this is beyond their ability or the capability of the engine. But I take your meaning.

YOu should go try Armored Warfare :D It is a bit old and sometimes hard to find matches but they have very limited infantry, but similar to this. A sniper lady that kills infantry and destroys optics on vehicles. Mortar man who does short range indirect that kills infantry and hurts vehicles (less armored takes more damage) and finally the small groupd of (4 iirc) Engineers with rocket launchers that go for vehicles. It's like world of tanks though, HP bars and invisible tanks if out of view range etc
They did for a little bit but they were more like set pieces and they didn’t get added to the full game just the dev server

Day 104 You should play a tank with hydropneumatic suspension (recommend the MBT-70) But the catch is you have to drop the suspension as low as it can go for the whole match.

The Panther F also has a faster reload. That with the rangefinder makes it my go-to sniper at that BR

If I may, I'd like to recommend the SU-85M, its armor is surprisingly good and at 5.0 so is the 85mm gun. It's also surprisingly mobile!

Not taking APCR, then meeting Jumbo which, at 400-500m may just be THE target that's actually well suited to be shot with APCR, since you can pen the mantlet with it and APHE fails to do so.
But you had the side shot, so it did not matter anyway.
jumbos 90% of the time can be beaten withiut APCR, most players angle (on purpose or accidentaly) and then you just shoot by the front sprocket

I think it'd be impossible for Spookston not to include about a few dozen sound effects in a video.
With Warthunder getting less realistic by the day and focusing more on balance, we need the filler between 6.7 and 7.7 in the german tech tree back... Bring back the removed tanks!

Some people call you tank furry others call ypu spookston but throughout war and thunder you alone are the person who I watch to know how to play a tank.
The Panther F is my favorite Panther to play. The turret may not have volumetric shenanigans advantage but it has better armor and is quite bouncy. It's also one of the Panthers with good turret traverse.

The F also has better hull and turret roof armour , so you can't get penned by .50cals CAS rush cap and die players . Don't know about 20mm , but I can't remember getting ever penetrated by planes in the Panther F.

Can you do a video with the IT1? its a missle carrier on a t62 chassis, it has a crushed turret and the atgm is on top, so you can shoot it over rocks and cover without exposing much, and it has decent-ish mobility

the US T-34 stupid hull machinegun can bounce the long 88 as well, found that the silly way while grinding the Jagpanther, also found out that noobs in the T34 can appearently non-pen it frontally and require 3 dudes to kill a fully crippled Jagpanther....
If you haven’t already, play the Ho-Ni III. A 2.3 Japanese tank destroyer with a NASTY 75mm APHE launcher.
It also for some reason bounces like 5 shells before dying… but like only sometimes? It’s weird what you can and can’t survive sometimes.

the F was my favorite tank of the panther line, the volumetric was a small price to pay for a rangefinder and slightly faster reload, i have gotten multiple nukes with that tank.
