    Just a heads up from a cosmetologist for those who may be wondering... The reason the nail was still gummy underneath is the thickness of the initial extension required more than 30 seconds to fully cure. It should cure all the way through within 60-90 seconds regardless of the color. :) If it had been super thin 30 seconds might have been enough but since you used quite a bit of product, it needed a bit longer. Hope that helps others who may have been curious. :)

      I work with epoxy and UV resin, it is definitely the thickness of the gel but it is also because the backing paper /tape being black and gold and dense on color it makes it hard for any UV light to reach through and cure anything in the other side. If the backing paper/tape was clear or transparent in color the Uv light would have an easier time penetrating

    Awesome video!!! I'm always so impressed with how detailed you are and how you explain things in a way that's so easy to understand. I can also tell that you have done your homework and you give accurate information. Gosh I wish you had been around when I started!!! The first drill that was making the super loud noise ....did you try pulling out the bit and trying a different one? If the shaft on the bit gets bent it will sound really loud and wobble. If you put another bit in and it still does it then it's likely something got bent or knocked around inside. The shape and structure of the nails came out so good! You can pinch polygel and gel if you want a stronger C curve or a more tapered/slender nail. Just put them in the light for 10 seconds and then pinch. You can use a pinching tool, tweezers or even your fingers (that's usually how I do it). Then finish curing. This will also help so the underside is not as flat and bulky, and more like a nail tip. Great job love!!

    • @vicsnailtips
      @vicsnailtips  3 роки тому +3

      Thank you I always appreciate your kind words 💕For the first drill I did switch out the bits and it still made the sound. It’s definitely the drill unfortunately :( and Ive actually never tried pinching, I just have never looked into how to do so thank you for expaining it to me & for this comment!!!!!!

    • @katrinasheets2997

      @@vicsnailtips darn.....was hoping it was just the drill bit! You deserve all the positive comments!! I love watching your videos and even though I've been doing nails for a couple of years I still love the procedure of it all and watching someone who actually applys product to the top or can sculpt a nail! It seems like it's getting harder and harder to find new content without it being the underside application method. That's great for a quick set or someone starting out.....but it's just not my thing. I literally get so excited when someone posts a new video with traditional application method!! You're just awesome! ❤😊❤😊

    After watching this video and the one that is all about polygel tips and tricks, oh and subbing ofc, I tried my first polygel nail tonight. Granted, I only did one because it took me a LOT longer than I planned but, overall, it came out a lot better than I was expecting. I also invented a new method as well... It started out with the 'Two bead method' . But it devolved into the 'Thousand bead and Thirty-Eleven Hour Method' .
    The important thing is that it looks like a fingernail without having to squint your eyes and for that, I am pleased.
    All the credit is yours! You have the best tutorials I've ever watched and I've watched a ton of them. Thank you so much for the help!

I love knowing that I'm helping others 💜 and the credit and hard work is def all yours ;)

    THIS!! I couldn’t figure out how to work my gel (Modelones) in time so that it didn’t melt down the form by the time I cured it in the lamp. I’ll definitely try doing the tip first seeing that it still looks smooth when applying the 2nd ball. Doing it all in one swoop is not working in my favor for some reason 😓 do you experience the gel running while under the lamp? Yours turned out great!!!

      You might need to cut the edge where your nail goes. Sometimes it helps for it to fit better. I have forms that have a different shape for where the natural nail goes that I can link. They may fit a bit better than the standard oval shape 😆www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YKMDLR1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

      I like to place my apex starting slightly under the tip of my natural nail for long nails. For short nails I make the apex thinner and place it further down, closer to the cuticle. I noticed it makes shorter nails look more sleek and less bulky :).

    I have the issue of the sides cracking where the free edge ends. the product is thin in this area. I’m struggling to get the form right under the nail when I have really short natural nails

    • @vicsnailtips
      @vicsnailtips  3 роки тому

      I’ve never done this myself, but I know a solution for using forms on shorter nails is to build a thin layer of polygel on the natural nail to extend it, after prep and before forms. Then placing the form under the extended nail (making sure to seperate any product from the skin).

    • @vicsnailtips
      @vicsnailtips  2 роки тому +2

      It sounds like the polygel may not have enough pigment. I recommend doing a thin layer first and then another layer where you build you apex to build the color without making them too thick. It adds an extra step but it should help with the opaqueness. Hope this helps 😊💗
