How to build an Aquascaped 60CM Planted Tank

- Hi everyone, today please allow me to show you my 60CM aquascape build.
Tank size 60 X 40 X 40CM (Approx. 24X16X16 INCHES) Low iron glass with Aqua One Inspire stand.
Substrate Colombo Florabase pro aqua soil fine 10 Litre bag.
Lighting Twinstar LED V3 Aquarium Light 600SM
Filter Eheim Classic 250 canister filter and FZONE Glass outlet and skimmer
C02 FZONE 2.5Litre C02 Generator (using citric acid and bicarbonate of soda)
Qanvee in line C02 diffuser

This is lovely, I like the way you show each stage of build and how even the best of scapes can get algae at first, Not sure on the substrate, does it leach ammonia in the early weeks as some do? this can mean a battle with algae but settles after a few weeks.
I'm just about to re-do one of my tanks and you have given me a couple of ideas. Thanks for sharing.

Yes the Colombo substrate used on this leeched ammonia so much it was off the scale of the test kit I used.
However, Tropica aqua soil I believe won’t and you can plant straight away.

Hi Oakey, thank you for the kind comment.
Get a tripod for your camera or phone, video everything you do, you will only use a fraction of the clips and when filming try to keep as steady as possible. Also plenty of light.

@@mikeykany1973 thanks, and do you use a macro lens at all? I have done some videos but quite hard to get super focused close ups.
@@oakharts Hi no not used a macro lens. My camera is second hand and I also use an generation 2 iPhone SE so no expensive kit.

That's really an awesome setup! Btw, I have one question. I've set up my 3 gallon tank and have added aquarium soil & plants, and it is being cycled since last 1 month 1 week. But eventually, I started feeling like, the substrate level I've put in tank could have been lesser to give more room to my fish. Since I haven't added any fish yet, I'm thinking of reducing the soil so that can make an height of about 1 inch more available. Will it be an good option to pluck out all of the plants (which have been set now since last 1 month), reduce the soil level and plant all of them again? Will those plants be harmed?
Hi you can remove and re plant anytime. They will always grow again. Good luck with your tank.

Yes possible with the hard scape, but the plants will not be as vibrant.

How to maintenance?
Hi Slamet, 40% water change every week and 5ml of TNC fertiliser daily.
