In America mass shootings, domestic violence, police brutality, escalating racism, drug addiction, human trafficking, homelessness, etc. are so common it’s not shocking. The deaths in The Gambia are anomalies. There’s no place in the world that’s perfect. I still feel Africa is better for black people to prosper and have more peace.

I'm one person with anger issues. Faced racial discrimination on social media and I can't imagine facing it in person. One of the reasons I've always had problems with moving to the US for masters..my family wonders why I don't want to move. I find Kenya very peaceful. Gun violence is unheard of. The biggest challenge around Nairobi is petty thieves trying to break into your house and steal, but that can be dealt with in neighbourhoods and with good security. Communities also deal with insecurity when cops are slow. Africa is underrated. Money making opportunities can be limited when you have no capital, but there are a lot to be proud of.

That's why your sit-down conversational style videos are so unique and insightful! 👍
Mrs.RT, rightly pointed out of the seemingly empowered womenfolk in Kenya and especially in Nairobi.
Over the years, the Girl-Child empowerment has been a flaming movement to educate and equip women to face modern world with skills outside the conventional patrichial set up that has been the traditional norm. Apparently, Kenyan men have embraced that change and don't see it as threatening to their societal status but complementary.
Mr.RT being in Nairobi is kind of a deja Vu! He sees Atlanta in Nairobi and Nairobi in Atlanta. What triggers our positive impressionable past tends to ring a bell and reignite a glorious past ready to be relived.
Nairobi is like that sponge that absorbs everyone from anywhere while cushioning them with comfort familiarity yet beckoning with exotic adventures at their own pace!
    Nairobi will never disappoint 👌

Totally agree on this fear mentality. It is such a powerful tool to be afraid. It will control your life if you allow it to. Thank you so much for touching the subject on security and safety among solo female travelers Sister Muhammad. I think we need to go deeper on this topic. A lot of us women don't know for example how our voices affects the people around us. I come from a loud country family and we just be loud for no reason lol. But when I get around my african family because of my experience with the culture I know to tone it down. I forgot for a second and yelled at my Ghana brother and he didn't talk to me for a week lol. He eventually sat me down and explained why it comes off disrespectful and i love that. Had i not been in a place to learn and understand I would not been able to receive what looks like a rebuke but really his way of loving me back as his sister.
Bro Muhammad I had a taste of the peace you speak of when I visited Rwanda. It is obvious that both of you have found the peace that resonates inside of you and i can't wait to get there and soak in it. Blessings.

People in my village know I'm from amerika and treat me as a welcome stranger who is easily discernable as not at all like those much paler folks with straight hair. Over time they are seeing the "africanness" about me that came from my upbringing and the enduring cultural strands I inherited from the brutal history of our people in the western world. They are smart enough to recognise that I bring something useful to the table and I'm always careful to be on my best behavior so that those following in my footsteps will also be well received. This back to africa movement will be taking place over generations so I am approaching it with patience and ❤ with a success mindset underpinning everything I say and do.

The stereotype is that black Americans are aggressive, loud and angry. I understand why it is vital to be that way due to racism in America but Kenya and the rest of Africa is chilled out. Shouting is seen as a weakness and bad upbringing in the African culture. Calmness, assertiveness and warmth will get you far in Kenya. We are a peaceful people.

Greetings to the Mohamad’s. You guys are a beautiful couple. Thank you for choosing Kenya 🇰🇪 Don’t let the bad news from The Gambia place doubt in you. Gambia is a $2billion GDP economy. Kenya on the other hand is a $120 billion GDP economy
with various protections in place for women. It was not always like this in Kenya. We had days in the past when women would get violated in public , and nothing was done about it, however the Kenyan Women and civil society fought the system and forced it to change. Today in Kenya the woman is the most protected citizen in our nation. By law women must be in all leadership positions both in Government and in the Private Sector. Kenyans embrace these changes as we understand that it makes Kenya a better society. I encourage more African Americans to come visit and live in Kenya 🇰🇪. ASE

Kenyan politics is quite complex because it's usually tribal. The majority of the people are not so happy but the current government was propped by the biggest tribes. Sadly, people with "good" lives tend to dissociate themselves from politics. Kenya is quite diverse, and the diversity reflects on many issues, including perception of leadership and administration. Welcome and experience the best we can offer. ❤
