- He’s one of the world’s greatest heroes, folks. The suit is him and he is the suit. I see you’re confused since he nearly made it to triple digits in terms of the mark number of his suits. Yes it’s true during Tony Stark’s time in the MCU he wore a wide array of various battle suits, each slightly different from the next. Whether it be the Mark 1 or the Mark 101, Tony loved to put a little flare into each of his special projects in order to save the world. There is something to be said for nostalgia and iconic status. Which were his best? Well let’s find out right now.
Whether he is saving the world or crashing his own party, Tony always wears the nicest suits. The several we’ve seen him wear in the MCU are the best example of how a person without powers can be super. There are so many to choose from, and just about all of them are named Mark for some reason, with one Veronica in there. Tony loves to tinker, and that results in some of the greatest weapons ever developed. From his initial invention in the cave with a box of scraps, to the outfit that might as well bleed out of his skin, Tony’s decor is top of the line. it should be higher on the list since he holded his own against 2 super soldiers while having a dis functional suit thanks to antman pulling out a bunch of wires and making his mechanisms go offline
In the Mk 42s defense, it was a prototype and jarvis often said that it wasn't combat ready

The goofy Mk42 kinda has more screentime than other suits, sort of life of its own. Its imperfection and unefectiveness along with the fact that it is Tony's only hope at the tough times - really makes it adorable and most loved to me.

Fun fact: the mark 85 suit was specifically designed to absorb the energy from the infinity stones
Thats why when he used the stones he didnt scream and struggle like hulk and thanos
Mark 85 only works as a Giant Gaunlet
That's what the infinity gauntlet was also designed for, but the nano gauntlet was only designed for one use

Mark 50 is definitely my favourite. Has the most, the most epic and the most powerful abilities. I also love mark 85. And I think the colour appearance of the mark 42 is really underrated.

Some arguments sound strange to me. For example, MK5 (a case suit) is definitely not a primary Tony's suit, but more like a tool for emergency. Considering how easily Pepper throws MK5 to Tony, the suit has to be pretty light, which makes sense when we speak about a piece of armour that has to be delivered by someone in the shortest time possible. But, since it has to be light and to be able transform to a case form, it cannot have very strong armour, otherwise only body builders, like Arnold Schwarzenegger, were able to carry it. Still, being so light the suit could still execute it's primer function - protect Tony from a weapon that sliced cars as butter. Honestly, this channel criticised this suit to much for basically no reason, just like MK42 that wasn't fully finished. Also, you should remember that in every suit, Tony tried something new and in may cases new things don't work like we expect, but it gives us new ideas and knowledge how to make it better next time.

Excuse me, the Mark 5 is probably one of the most durable suits, especially early on. Whiplash was cutting through cars like they were just another bit of air, but the Mark 5 protected Tony even when these essentially whip-lightsabers were being hurled at him. I’d argue that the Mark 5 was stronger than the Mark 46 we Saw in Civil War.
Mark 42 my fav plus is was incomplete it was a very good suit and the gold makes it unique
Can we all a agree that if you were a kid and saw the hulk buster you thought it was the coolest thing in the world
For me the bests are - Mark 3, Mark 46 (man it survived two freakin' Super soilders + a Vibranium shield!), Mark 45 was supercool looking and did a great job in saving sokovia, also Mark 6 and 7 were also pretty powerful with good amount of weapons! Mark 50 is literally one of my favourites as it survived thanos powerful punches, the nanotechnology shield protected him from power stones energy, fire blasts, it also survived the whole building type of crashing on him and that sabers, extra arc reactors, different type of weapons make it soo interesting and on Number Mark 85 is the greatest of all!
Smartest man of the mcu, but missed the perfect moment to kill thanos. When he traps the hand of thanos under his foot, he should have gone for a blade instead of a giant club

My favorites is the Mark 3 and Mark 7. I think the Mark 3 has thr best look and colors and the Mark 7 has the best balance of features/weapons without being over the top.
The mark 46 in civil war was damaged and barely functioning due to the airport battle thats why tony got beaten up by cap and bucky

Mark 45 and 85 are my two absolute favorites. Also, major props to the narator, he did an excellent job explaining and did his research.
If we’re ranking the suits on how powerful they are then the mark five should be just above the mark one because after all the suits that came after the mark one it was the weakest The whole point of the suit was to be portable it was his first shot at a suit like it and it had to be light enough to be carried like a briefcase don’t get me wrong though The march five from the MCU is one of my favorite Iron Man suits of all time I have a lot of nostalgia for that suit
The Mk. 5 didn’t have all the standard upgrades of the other suits-it was meant to be compact to be disguised as a briefcase. It didn’t have any control surfaces for flight, nor did it have any weapons systems beyond the basic repulsors. It also had thinner plating to lighten it up to be carried by your average Pepper or Happy.
It’s basically what a subcompact concealed-carry pistol is to a standard-sized one. It’s meant for quick, easy access with just the essentials to get you by in an emergency.

Mark or MK is the codename given to generation for cars in order to identify it's version, the number stands for the number of versions it have been created.

1) remember that mark 42 is a prototype, that's not even the final design. the fact that you thought it was (even though in the movie does explain several times it is a prototype) shows how great he is at making suits; even a prototype could withstand decently.
2) the suit rhodey steals is not a prototype, is just an actual, finished model (mark 2) that tony took as basis for the red&gold we all know, since there were some obvious improvements and this was his first time actually experimenting with the idea of suits, instead of just making one for the sake of escaping.
3) you can't see his fingers through the gauntlet in mark 5, that is outright false. also, as some people is saying, this is a "in case of emergency" type of armor as it's meant to be carried in a suitcase by Pepper or Happy, people who might not have the strength to carry it (although Happy is a security guard and he's supposed to be buff, however, this movie actually shows he's not as buff as we think, so i'm including him here). this suit stood greatly against whiplash/vanko, although it was damaged pretty badly because ivan vanko used electricity on him, that he achieved by using stark blueprints that belonged to his father (anton vanko, previous colleague to howard stark as we know) to create the source of power: an arc reactor. iron man's suits are meant to be world-proof, but not necessarily "stark-proof" as he thought he was the only one with a design like this, explained later in the movie.
overall, i think you were too harsh on some of these, but nice vid.

I think Mark 46 got the short end of the stick. I remember him being bashed by dozens of cars by Wanda and was even grabbed by Wanda at one point and the suit was fine. He and war machine were also able to knock out ant man with one punch. Also I'm sure that if any of iron man's suits gets bashed in the face with a vibranium shield by the strongest super soldier they would fall apart too

My favorite suit is the MK 42 and yes I do agree the suit is not powerful at all but the suits color and color pattern makes the suit just look so good to me.

Interestingly, the practice of using “Mark” for different versions has historical roots. During World War II, the British employed this system when naming their Colossus computers (Colossus Mark I, Mark II, etc.) for code-breaking purposes1. Mark 1 should be ranked higher, it's such a good suit. Ryan Meinerding (He designed the MK1) is a damn genius, those random welding lines, letters and shapes nails the "made of scrap metals" feel but yet it's so simple. Take a look at other artists, most fail to convey the feeling and just looks like a high tech suit

5:32 whiplash could do so much damage to the mark 5 because he's whips were electric which tony hasnt counted for or expected neither did encounter so he couldnt learn from it and so the mark 5 wasnt very good against electricity
Fun facts - the Mk 85 have vibranium coated nanoparticles (which he obtained from his friends in Wakanda). Also has all of the weapons and abilities of the mk 50 but improved - it’s way more durable and powerful.

The mark 42 was a prototype armour as it was mainly meant to toy with the idea of calling his suit peice by peice. That’s why it was so weak was because it was never meant for combat as we see it only has repulsors.
And for mark 5, it was purposely weak because it was an emergency suit in case an attack happened and he needed a suit on fast and it proves this because it only has basic repulsors

mark 42 is one of tonys best creations as he perfected the prehensile ability seen in the suit codenamed Bones used in all of his later suits including hulkbuster before nanotech. its weak because of all the suits he made in a short time as a part of the house party protocol

Anyone can wear the Iron Man Armor just like anyone can hold Captain America's Shield, but who do you think is going to replace Tony Stark since War Machine is a soldier but not a mechanical engineer like his best friend, Iron Lad is a Variant of Kang the Conqueror and Ironheart lacks experience with her Armor made from scrap and has no resources to make new Armors and fix old ones?
I think Rhodey will be iron heart’s mentor and she will be the one foxing and upgrading his armour
Ironheart will fulfill his void but there is just one Tony Stark so no one can replace him. If u mean the next great mind of the MCU them I’d say Reed Richards. If u meant someone to fill the leader role there are plenty, Doctor Strange, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, Black Panther (not likely tho) etc.
in defense of the mark 42, (which is my favorite), it had already been through countless battles in that movie, not like it got taken down in brand new condition. but the script writer for this video made it seem as such
