This car was a wild card FOR SURE. Being a 1 of 14 Plum Crazy Challengers being completely spec'd out with everything you could get from factory, it was bound to be a fun one. When it made its way into the shop to get started, it didn't look like anything more than just a purple car. After getting the nasty wheels cleaned up, paint washed & prepped, decontaminated and taped up, it was starting to show some real potential.
Sure enough, as soon as we started compounding the car with a Microfiber Cutting pad + Menzerna Power Gloss, I immediately saw the paint start to come to life! It was heavily swirled up and damaged though, so it was a long haul to get to the refining/polishing stage. BUT once we got there, the yellow Rupes pad + Menzerna Intensive Polish is what really made this paint look INSANE... Lol, I also forgot to explain why the camera's auto white balance was messy. It's because as we started to revive the color of the paint, the camera also picked up on that and tried to adjust accordingly. Pretty neat!
The Plum Crazy Purple is a wild color, truly. Once we coated it with Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light + Evo X4, it was awe-inspiring. I mostly specialize in rare paint codes, rarer cars, unique, etc, and this one did not disappoint. It was just as enjoyable if not, more enjoyable than any Paint to Sample car, rare, etc. Even BETTER once we cleaned all of the interior surfaces, leather, etc. Just so nice...

Bro, get a lake country pad washer; it’ll change your life when it comes to polishing. Longer pad life, better polishing, and needing less product.

Man I love Challengers among all the muscle cars. Dodge stayed very close to the looks of back in the day muscle car. Yup, always cover the sensitive areas in the engine. I always disconnect the battery before engine bay details. Man that paint was glistening in the sun. Good job bro!

Was there a ceramic coat applied to to paint? If that’s the AO4 🤷🏻♂️ I think that’s what it’s called you used.

Yes it was ceramic coated! I appreciate it. Price on something like this ranges anywhere from $1,500 2,500 depending on what all was done. From the scope of correction, what kind of coating, etc
What GSM towels do you use to polish
To wipe away polish, coatings, etc, I love using the Kirkland yellow towels. Can buy them in a big pack for like $20-30 give or taken give them a wash right after buying them and they are perfect IMO. I believe they’re like 300ish GSM? Could be wrong but highly recommend
