Couldn't believe there was no instruction how to turn Apple tv off. Thanks for your help! Did have an issue with the motorcross race we were watching timing out after about 15 minutes into it. Race was still going on my laptop however. Seems like apple tv and laptop were no longer "talking." Tried to reset display on laptop to Air Play Mirroring "on" but it wouldn't stay on. Any clue?

So I just moved into a new place and set everything back up. Using the same hdmi input on the same tv as my old place but now the Apple TV console won't power up at all.... I've tried putting a new battery into the remote, tried other hdmi cables, but nothing. The console lights up red I the back so I know it's got power. Tried hooking up to iTunes to sync and that didn't help either. What else can I do? It's a 3rd gen by the way.

Thanks for the info. I do have a question. There are times when my Apple tv will not see the internet although I have all the settings correct. I have a wifi signal but no internet. My router is Apple Express. I suspect it could be that my Is not warmed up. Your thoughts?

Did that but figured out after more research that I could set the system to turn off monitors and other devices. As you said there are no instructions but say system to siri and by browsing around I found the turn off Television or receiver. It was painful though.

After some time of trying to make a connection I finally realized and repaired the problem. I could get wifi but no internet on my tv. I went to my Apple Apple Express and found that I had that the password for the Express was different from the password for my wifi. It was the first letter on one was lower case. What threw me off was that at times it worked fine. I have not had any problem since.

I can't remember exactly how with this apple tv. I believe you would have yo use your tv remote or if you search through settings on the apple tv there may be an option. Again I am not sure as it has been so long since I had that apple tv.
