Pilsen is a lovely place to visit and the Pilsner Urquell and the Gambrinus (also brewed there) is obviously best at source, if you enjoy the beer. Went there for the first time in 1990 just after the wall came down, whilst on a "Beer tour" of Franconian micro breweries (Northern Bavaria). All highly recommended.
I very much hope one day to visit Pilsen.
I just visiting last year and every beer fan should visit and drink the beer fresh from their pub which does get any better than that.
AVOWEDLY, The World's best beer.
It definitely is a classic, to be sure
At the time the Pilsener brewing style was invented, the Czech Republic had yet to come into existence
Indeed. It was very much still part of the Austrian/Austro-Hungarian Empire.
@@ontapchannel These conversations might be harder to understand from the outside. For poeple of Czechia or Bohemia it is a bit clearer. First, we do have history with the Germans and Austrians for hundreds of years. Half of my family is still in Austria, other half is in Czech, and our family tree goes through German Bavaria and further into Switzerland. And we see through the documents how one family is scattered on different sides of borders and moving from place to place. I am not too old, but my father still spoke german at home even during the communist time. So I dont think czechs really worry about it is "just" czech, or "just" german, as the history is very intertwined (with lots of blood tho, haha).
When it comes to "Austrian" empire, it was actually three kingdoms together, the third one being Bohemia -- each held their own language and culture -- and were just ruled from Vienna. The hungarians got themselves in the name eventually, the Bohemia didnt, Haha.
...and the Bohemian Kingdom, and before that, the Duchy of Bohemia, had existed for about a millennium. Your point?
Budweiser is Czech, the american one is not Budweiser!
Yes it is, and stay tuned for part 2... That is exactly what will be discussed.
great beer but I think Carlsberg is a little better
Interesting, sounds like a taste test face off might be in order! I've never tried them back to back.
Hahaha sorry but what? No.
Lol
You prefer bland "Eurofizz"? that a joke or are your taste buds dead?
@@ontapchannelyou have got to be kidding me? Don’t touch carlsberg at all! Do a video on this and Budweiser Budvar. If you have done that try makeson’s stout. Lovely drink but a lot crapper now it’s been sold. Still nice though. But yeah carlsbergs crap, stay well away. 👍🏻
