People really need to stop explaining away murder through so-called mental illness of which addiction is now classified. He CHOSE to commit cold-blooded premeditated murder and multiple times at that.

Apparently, you misunderstand the mental health argument. It does not excuse their behavior, but in some cases, it causes the actions. This man's mental health had nothing to do with the murder & had everything to do with a man hating a woman in power & who doesn't tolerate his BS.

As well as cities taken advantage of taxpayers money by saying it's for the homeless community and to build rehabs and then they just real allocate the funds it's so wrong it's wrong because a lot of people that I met on the streets were really good people and they are a lot stronger than most people

Living to that age and being so active to have her life stolen by this creep makes me nauseous. He is a messed up individual who should have been in a mental facility to deal with his torture ordeal. I can't imagine how messed up his mind was but it had to be. You don't just live though something like he did and go on in life like everything has been totally normal his entire life. You can't just put someone like him out in society. He couldn't have had many social skills and didn't seem grateful that he was so accepted and people were kind to him especially his victim. He could have died in Iran and it would have been best if he had. There is no telling what age that lady would have lived to. But I hope he's really misreable now that he pist his freedom away and if the courts have any sense they will never let him out. Prison doesn't make a better person and he's already rotten to the core so he needs to stay where he is and remember he'll never work the earth again. The next dirt he's in will be under 6ft of it. He killed her because he couldn't get his way and all over a garden. What a terrible waste of her life, so terribly sad I feel bad for her children and especially her son Mark. You can see the pain and hear it too in him. And I seriously doubt that will ever be any better. You don't just get over such a thing.

My point about being called Islamaphobic has more to to with a large group of overly sensitive westerners who leap to defend Islam or Arabic culture from any criticism no matter how mild it is. Actually in America, pointing out that Arabic culture has a misogyny problem is just as likely to get you called "racist" as it is "Islamaphobic". It's a way to silence people they disagree with. In America we have these things called Home Owners Associations (HOAs) in some neighborhoods. You pay in dues and the HOA tells you how long your grass can be, how much clutter your yard can have, the color of your blinds etc. etc. (I think they also handle maintaining shared spaces. That's their supposedly legitimate purpose) This guy reminds me of a stereotypical HOA president. I originally come from the same culture that Mohammadi belongs to. Apart from his political activities and the prison abu$e he had faced in his come country, there is another significant factor that made him act the way he did. Having power and control over people, no matter where and when, is a thing that our men are brought up to expect and feel entitled to by nature. Mohamadi did not start as a murderer. He was controlling, bossy and meddling for years prior to Lea's killing. Whoever comes from the Middle East, especially if they are female, will immediately recognize this attitude of entitlement, exaggerated irritation and verbal abu$e whenever men are denied the right to decide what and how others should live their lives (and, in this case, use their alottments.) Any effective power, however tiny, makes many Eastern men immediately see themselves as dictators who have the right to make decisions for others and punish them should their dominance be rejected or questioned in any way. And the same rules applied to Lea too, because she was a woman, she was elderly and she was not harsh enough, which in Mohamadi's eyes would be seen as a weakness. She was expected to abdicate, submit herself and give her power over to him. Being a man from patriarchy, being forced to adhere to the decisions of an old woman would have hurt his ego enormously, and being told to shut up, especially in front of the others, would have felt as an unforgivable insult to his male superiority. The emails that he sent her prove that what had happened ate at him, and no amount of appologies could have soothed his need to show Lea her proper place and punish her for publicly disrespecting and humiliating him. Lea was a woman, she was old, she was frail and she was kind and respectful to everyone, and to Mohamadi, all of those things were a clear sign that she was not only far below him but also totally incapable of leading the alottment area as a strict military camp, which is our Eastern leadership style. The fact that she had more power than him must've been unbearable, and after that shut up, her fate was sealed. Literally.
Not all our men are like this, of course, and Mohamadi's trauma would have definitely influenced his behaviour too, but his underlying misogyny toward Lea is our cultural thing.

I love true crime, but so many of these shows, and this series is perhaps the worst, draw out the story at an excrutiatingly slow level, continuously rehashing the same basic elements over and over again. This video is 90 minutes long, but could easily have been delivered in half that time. Indeed, it would make for far more compelling viewing if it were presented more briskly without all the needless repetition.
I get that shows of this type were originally made for television, with annoying but necessary commercial breaks, thus requiring a review of what had been covered prior to the interruption, but my goodness they do this in such a manner as if the producers believe that the average viewer has the memory of a goldfish. It's insulting to one's intelligence and makes for plodding, boring viewing.
This case was not complicated. There was only one suspect from outset, all the evidence pointed directly at him, and he was arrested, charged, tried and convicted in record time. Why on Earth would you need so long to tell what is, though not to the victim's family and friends naturally, a rather straightforward manslaughter case as though it were a complex serial killer documentary?

Bowel’s last statement, about having to live his life with these consequences, IMO, as he said, “he’d rather be dead, than having to live this way”. Some people think, this is torture, but I look at it like the misery they will have to endure, will given the victim/victims much more justice. This consequence seems more fitting than knowing, this will eventually end. Instead they will never know how many years they will be required to live before this ends.

The cunning that he used in his defence, is the same cunning he used in his so called "refugee from torture" application, he is a former Muslim combatant, his injuries and "trauma" would have been easy for him to paint as the result of having been dragged off as an innocent Man and then brutalized by a violent Iranian authority.
