Recently sold my GH3 not because I didn't like it but my main camera is the G85 which gives me 4K capability and has excellent image stabilization which the GH3 lacks. The GH3 is a great camera, just wasn't using it as much as my G85.

Because of you I just bought my first camera, the quality is absolutely amazing for videos. Perfect for what i needs with my small budget. Im from Indonesia, and in Indonesia they sell only one for this camera in online shop. And no one Indonesian people review this camera. I am completely satisfied and do not regret it at all. Got my G6 and then my GH3 because of your channel and was the best decision ever. Main camera is the GH5 now, but sometimes go back and fourth with the GH3 because I know it well and the 1080 is phenomenal and easy to work with. Pair it with the 12-35 F/2.8 and it’s amazing especially without a gimbal
Just want to say that I've seen your videos for YEARS. You convinced me to get the GH3 back in the day and it started my obsession with Panasonic. There's been plenty of models I've went back to after trying other brands and regretting it (GH3, G85, GH5, etc). After 7+ years of this passion (and way too much money spent), I realized Panasonic and Fujifilm are my absolute favorites but once Panasonic releases phase-detect AF, it's all over for Fuji. 😂

One of the other main benefits of the Gh3 (and the other G-lumix) is the flexible monitor. perfect for selfshooting, vlogs etc and the clean hdmi out for a external monitoring.
Very useful, just bought a $115 gh3, the color and quality of photo is as good as my G85! Amazing

I bought one of these a couple of years ago. Was a studio B-roll camera that that barely been used. Cost about US$170. Shutter count was about 1000. Bought a couple of GF2's and loaded in a modded OS so fairly closely matches the GH3. The GF2's were effectively negative money as they were attached to lenses and were cheaper than bare lenses. With adapters I can use my old (1970's) OM lenses too.
Very happy to also own a legend. My GH 3 rocks‼️
I feel the GH3 is kind of the camera people forgot about. A lot of people skipped I feel the GH3 because they had the GH2 all hacked. Also the GH3 I think uses a Sony sensor and those sensors have moiré issues. Panasonic sold their sensor factory to a company called Tower Jazz. I think they changed their name a little from Tower Jazz to something else.
In my experience older pro gear always trumps modern budget offerings.
Always loved the bang for the buck power Panasonic always brings, with the usual AF trade off; I love my Olympus too but the problem with the pre-amps is definitely an issue. I end up having to use a separate audio recording device for that
I think too many people forget that the majority of viewers are consuming content on small phone screens. 1080p is sufficient for such screens most of the time.

dude that 30 dollar option killed so much paying for conveniance in other youtubers :D :D. Still, at this point I really must say how much in love you are with your gh3! Defenitely for 200 dollars it's the best full hd, I am still sticking to my gx80 but the pocket4k in terms of image quality has made a little leap in the budget area I feel.

Yeah this whole video was mixed with e-m1 for the talking head and GH3 for B-roll and I’ve mixed in GH3 footage on my last few videos as well ✌🏼

Had a GH2 and its still fantastic. Panasonic was WAY ahead of its time especially with the hacked firmware. Biggest downsides in 2022 is the dynamic range and 8 bit codecs. Besides that, theyre still great cameras.
Is it possible to get XLR mics connected into this camera by some sound card adapter so the sound does not need t be synced later?... and if absolutely not, what is the best way to sync sound from XLR mics to the recordings for this? what editing software do you recommend to start with? I got a gh3 since 2013 and been thinking to start a UA-cam channel as I already have this camera and three lenses for it.. I do not have any mics for it though, but I got the Shure Sm 7b mic and a sound card and a MacBook... not sure what I best update? lights and mics like wireless mics for the gh3? DO Rode wireless go 2 work with the gh3 for example?
or should I upgrade to a gh5 house for 700 dollars? 🥵
The GH3 is a fine camera, but I love my E-M1 Mark II for the autofocus and stabilization.
I have a G85 as well, but I'm thinking of upgrading to a GH5 for the headphone jack, XLR adapter, exposure assist tools, dual card slots, 4K 60p, 1080p 180p, and 10-bit 4:2:2. The G85 is a fine camera that can produce nice footage, but the GH5 is an absolute monster for professional video.
I have 3 LUMIX cams and the focussing is definitely my biggest problem. Even in well lit scenes, in tripod, and barely moving subjects, there is focus breathing. And if there is smoke, like with fireworks or rock bands, it throws a fit and goes massively out of focus. Sometimes it’ll take 30 secs to refocus. Not good
I use GH4 as my 2nd cam and it's more than enough.
Okay, two things. 1... I just shot a "why I still love my a6500" video that's so similar and I need to rip it apart in the edit now haha. 2.... I need to know that Matte Box, is that the SmallRig Mini Lite? I'm looking for a smaller matte box because I mostly shoot Super35 and the full size matte boxes look behemoth sized on it.
It's funny that, in terms of detail, I couldn't the difference between the GH3 and Olympus E-M1 ii until you did the punch-in... and I'm watching a 4.5k iMac screen.
Yeah I feel like sometimes I overestimate the need for 4k sometimes, I continue to be pleased with the Gh3 image for sure!

So I'm sorta bias but I feel like the GH4 is better "slapper" has pretty much everything you need from a Panasonic camera but also you can find the GH4 a lot more on the used market as well
Would you choose a GH3 over a G7? As they are about the same price second hand or refurbished.

Hi Nigel i am a beginner and I am looking towards film documentary and some commercial.can you advice me on a budget camera I can start off with without breaking the bank
Someone may be able to help: so I have a GH4. When I shoot video in the MANUAL VIDEO mode it’s not so good in low light. When I switch the mode to just the MANUAL setting, it becomes soooo much brighter. I have checked by filming in one mode then the other and it genuinely changes the footage insanely! Does anyone know what I am talking about or have some idea why it does this?

GH3 legendary? LOL, it was underwhelming from what remember and quickly overshadowed by GH4 which eclipsed it in every way, GH3 had a nice body though.
nah to me, the 72mb/s, headphone jack and sharp image was sick back in 2012. I switched out of the canon dales for this and loved it! Gh4 was sick too but it cropped in 4k so it was hard to get wide using it in that resolution and i didn't like speed boosters at the time. I built my channel mostly on a GH3

I understand that but the GH3 was criticised when it was released for not doing enough compared to GH2 although to be fair most people kept comparing it to hacked GH2 at the time, the GH3 is a good camera its just for some reasons it did not do too well sales wise.
