DC can't be giving much credence to this book as they assigned probably one of the worst artists they have to this book. You would only see this kind of art in a Looney Tunes book 5-10 years ago. Grodd's transgender sister?? WTF?? Sweet baby Jesus what's going on over at DC?
DeMatteis and Giffen loved the Characters before they wrote them, they breathed life into them and had fun with it while still telling interesting and compelling stories. They didn't set out to just make a funny book, that was never their original intention, it just got funny as they went. But they never lost sight of what the book was supposed to be, a series about a team of heroes saving the day (even if they did screw up every now and then). I'm reading the JLI Omnibuses now, and I just finished the story where Despero returns and what he did to Gypsy's parents is horrific, nothing about Despero is funny, even when Guy is fighting him and being his usual self, the bit of humor that Guy brings doesn't offset the situation, Despero is incredibly dangerous and he might have very well killed the JLA if Jonn hadn't used his precious Gift to thwart him. The moments of levity in those issues doesn't undercut the gravity of the situation. it takes great writting to pull that off effectively, and to do that you have love the characters you are writing This generation of writers clearly don't, no matter how many old stories the reference (Poorly, I might add, I just read the Kooeykooeykooey issues, Fire and Ice weren't even a part of that one (there were look-a-likes there a Casino Staff, but Bea and Tora werent' there. Tora was in the group that went to take Beetle and Booster to task for taking League funds, but she was unconscious most of the time as she had be severely injured in a Jellyfish attack. I believer Bea was coping with her new powers, having been altered by the Meta-gene virus from the Invasion storyline, so she was out of action))
I think we need to look past these terrible writers and delve more into Editorial who is passing this crap in the first place. I'm trying to read Rogue and Gambit and in the first issue you have Rogue going hand to hand with ninjas assaulting a drunk Gambit in the alley. Should Rogue really have any problem handling ninjas? Later, Destiny just pops into their room to move the plot. Does she have teleport powers? Invisibility? AFAIK, she's just a precog. In the second issue, R&G are lost in the desert after being teleported away last issue. They find a roadhouse in the middle of nowhere and make friends with the locals. Then Black Panther shows up out of the blue to arrest them. How did he track them? Why is he so belligerent? If he's going to take R&G in, probably should have brought more Avengers. Inane writing, but wtf is Editorial doing?

Character history was all wrong, the dialogue ranged from weird to cringe, just girls flirting, and absolutely nothing that even resembled a cohesive plot. Cassandra Cain had potential to be one of Top 10 DC super-heroines if Diodio didn't hate your character so much. She deserves a another solo title again.

It feels like it started as a joke "Hey can I create a giant transgender gorilla and put it in my book" thinking they won't allow it, "Yeah that sounds great, I look forward to seeing the character in print" and now they were forced to use this ridiculous character.
Feels like they know this is a failure and are trying to burn everything on the way out. Wes im too lazy to figure out what week it came out and track down which video with Drew you did that week to see if he recommended it and you talked about it, but you gotta check out Swan Songs from Image, issue 4 is a madlib style story from Ice Cream Man genius himself Maxwell Prince
I came back to the comic and saw panels of Donkey Kong in a skirt, I'm actually bringing back Drew for a second name drop because he had a rant on MVPs stream yesterday and he or Aaron Sparrow mentioned wanting to go to Jim Lee and throwing it in front of him asking for an explanation
Hahaha Oh my God this is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen, it’s a comic book that just makes absolutely no sense and is just filled with gibberish. What on earth is going on in the editorial offices at DC? How on earth did this get published? Are they severely lacking in comic books and just need to fill the shelf with anything they can get.
On another note, l think a lot of this might stem from the Henry Cavil Superman movie where, at the end, was telling the General "I'm from Kansas. You can't get more American than that". And what is being portrayed might be closer to the KU and KSU college towns but not the heartland of Kansas. Being from Kansas l know.
Do these two characters even have any real reason to be there? Are they part of Stupidman's close friends list? Oh and thanks for the Ian Malcolm cameo.
When you think DC and Marvel can’t possibly find writers worse than Leah Williams, Vita Ayla, Charlie Jane Anders, Kenny Porter, Cavan Scott and Mags Visaggio - here comes Joanne Starer to lower the bar again. Quite amazing how bad things have become at the big two, they should be proud of themselves
I "noped" out after issue #2. When they said something about one of the characters being " a white man who thinks he's a God. Standard fare." Piss off. The fact I got to issue #2 says a lot about my ability to put up with trash comic content, unfortunately.

Cassandra Cain had potential to be one of Top 10 DC super-heroines if Diodio didn't hate your character so much. She deserves a another solo title again.
He may not have read HG#3. Sometimes he stops reading a bad series early, probably because his doctor isn’t ok with his blood pressure.
@@davidgantenbein9362 Oh, but he did indeed read that horrid piece of work and the review was glorious.
@@Paulies-Hideout Did he review and read up till issue 3? Honestly don’t remember the review well enough as my main takeaway from the review was „I don’t want to get near this comic ever“, not how many issues he reviewed. 🤣
This makes me appreciate Skybound's line so much right now.
And here I was thinking I missed what happened before
A transgender giant gorilla? Why? Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do it. It feels like it started as a joke "Hey can I create a giant transgender gorilla and put it in my book" thinking they won't allow it, "Yeah that sounds great, I look forward to seeing the character in print" and now they were forced to use this ridiculous character.
So what you're saying, is that it's an instant headache in printed form? Gotcha.
Why would superman even put the inhabitants of smallville at risk like this??
It's hard to believe this isn't just bad fan fiction somebody made at home
Worst comic? That’s saying a lot.
Awesome work mate
By issue 5, what the fuck were you expecting
At least they didn't spend ANY money on the art.
Oh Contraire Mon Fraire! CLASSIC! Haven't heard that in forever.😂
4:15 Whoa whoa whoa. Hold up. What?
Feels like they know this is a failure and are trying to burn everything on the way out. Can you imagine if Macdonald's let one of their less successful restaurants talk down the Big Mac the way DC have let these hacks disparage Superman? I just had a really good end of year review, I made a lot of money for my job, but I wouldn't get away with shitting on any of my companies pillars to try and push a new idea that was against our markets demand.
What. The. Fuck did I just listen to ....This is an ACTUAL comic???
Oh Wes,In the words of the immortal…
…It’s only the worst comic you’ve read in your life SO FAR.
Fire and Ice is not a superhero comic book. It's a queer slice of life comic very bad written. It's what happens when you hire people that have zero knowledge about superheroes genre. DC needs stop to made these terrible mini-series. This garbage sells poorly. I don't know what's worse this shit or the modern X-Men books.
@@Master-Mystic01 Me too. The X-Men started fall apart after the 2000's.
When did Ma Kent come back to life? I thought Supes parent’s died during Bendis’ time on the book.
the worst comic, yet
That cover though. I’m no guns expert but I’m pretty sure bullets leave the shells when fired. 😂🤦♂️
LOL😂 I found the first 3 issues of “Fire & Ice” in the $1 bin last week (which was still more than it’s worth), but I had to check out the train wreck. I guess I have to collect/complete the worst series of all time now.😜
Wes im too lazy to figure out what week it came out and track down which video with Drew you did that week to see if he recommended it and you talked about it, but you gotta check out Swan Songs from Image, issue 4 is a madlib style story from Ice Cream Man genius himself Maxwell Prince
You sir are a saint for doing the dirty work & sacrificing your sanity for your audience. Thank you for the warning
To be fair, the bartender is a ginger.
I need to watch this again to figure out what this comic is about.
Existing just to exist covers many of the current offerings today. I've had my fun and enjoyment with comics. That time has passed.
I'm sorry you had to read this.
Zaslov needs to fire A LOT of staff at DC Comics.
Do these two characters even have any real reason to be there? Are they part of Stupidman's close friends list? Oh and thanks for the Ian Malcolm cameo.
Superman put them in timeout.
This art actually saw the light of day? Jeeeshhh....
This is a perfect example of why companies should never hire just for diversity.
Tumblr level shit being published officially by DC Comics. Yep, this industry is dead.
Make it lame make it gay.
What the hell, that's literally all I can say in response to this "comic"
I "noped" out after issue #2. When they said something about one of the characters being " a white man who thinks he's a God. Standard fare." Piss off. The fact I got to issue #2 says a lot about my ability to put up with trash comic content, unfortunately.
Using comic books as propaganda will forever be unforgivable to me
Has anyone read the dan jurgens tarzan ? It's great! Support that book! Its a great adaptation!
Ok, I will give it a try.
