  • David was Israel’s greatest king, but even he failed to live as God’s anointed one. When Isaiah prophesied about the ultimate anointed one to come, he said that not only would this deliverer come from the line of David, but they would be a new David altogether. What does this mean? Learn more in this episode as Tim and Jon discuss the theme of the anointed in the Isaiah scroll.

God saved me one night when I left the bar hammered. I dont remember leaving the bar. But a cop woke me up, my car was pulled over on the side of the road...put in park, right in front of a cross Church sign. Drunks dont do that, they dont just pull over and park. You go off in a ditch or hit another car. But I have no doubt God parked my car for me. In front of the Cross sign as sign that he did it. I haven't been drunk since that night in 2016. I still have no idea where i was at but I remember that sign.

I am always encouraged by hearing other parents of three year olds. My daughter was born at the start of the shutdown as well, and balancing two other kids home and taking care of a baby at the same time, it was tough. I found the Bible Project so helpful in that time, and if there is any bright side, it is that my faith and perseverance in the Lord was strengthened at that time. Thanks for all you do!

I listened to the podcast. I loved all of the insights, thank you. I was surprised about the question about "Why David and not Saul?" That is why this whole story means so much to me. It is the whole of the heart of God and principles of just daily life with the Lord. You see this theme(s) repeated every day in our lives. Saul thought he had a better plan. We have particular political figures thinking the very same thing. There us no humility or admission of error. Here we are back in the Garden with the snake. He was not humble. He basically butted chests with God Almighty! He would not allow God to lead. I cannot think of one time he actually repented or cherished God for Himself. David screwed up.a lot, for sure, but his heart delighted, absolutely delighted in the Lord! He repented of things that put me to shame. He was distraught that he cut Saul's cloak to demonstrate that he was not a threat. He was distraught when Saul died! Boy, that would be quite the challenge for me. I have felt sad that my challenging people never found the love/compassion side of the Lord, but i was not sad they passed. Though they claimed Christianity, it did not seem to me they lived it outside of their click. They caused immense pain and division. They confused vulnerable people with misinformation. David (and Moses) show me that i have a long way to go. God saw David's heart, not his stumbling. That teaches me that i have hope in Him. I love the Lord and delight in Him, but boy, have i made stupid mistakes even in what i thought He wanted of me. We never stop maturing, and He gives us that room. It is not first born last born, but the heart that seeks the Lord in humility and is willing to repent and try again. Were it not for prophecy, i wonder if Judas had had a heart for the Lord and been willing to just say, "i am so sorry," instead of killing himself, if he could have been forgiven and gone on to be a great man of God. Prophecy said it would have been better for him if he had not been born. So, God knew his heart long before. Are we not all guilty of betraying Him at some point with deliberate sin, no matter how small it may seem. For me, right now it is candy. It destroys my God-given life. We don't see it as sin or betrayal, but bottom line, it is. Who are we serving ultimately? Maybe we are living with someone we are not married to, or having a "justified" affair. Is that not a betrayal? Maybe we hold a terrible grudge. Where is our heart; with Him or our own carnal desires? That is why we NEED a Savior. It is why we need to have have a repentant, humble heart. Only then can He give us the victory. We love Him, but fail. And Judas, do you think if he had heartfully repented, could have been forgiven? Paul, David, and others committed terrible deeds, but were forgiven and continued with the Lord humbly in service. That is why David, not Saul.

      I agree with you.
By serving YHWH God alone we admit no other sovereign. No other Lord… no other knowledge base, no other director.
We can rest totally in the One Who has redeemed us from the power of sin and death and follow Him alone.

"The wicked flee when no man pursues: but, the righteous are bold as a lion. For the transgression of a land, many are the princes thereof: but, by a man of understanding and knowledge, the state thereof shall be prolonged. A poor man that oppresses the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaves no food. They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but, such as keep the law contend with them" (Proverbs 28:1-4)

There are many kings and priests now. Many of the seed of David that rule. Jer 33:22, Psalm 18:50. Everyone that is a firstborn of the spirit are anointed by God in the NT. Its no longer just one king or one high priest. Your sons and daughters shall prophecy, heal the sick, save souls from death, sit on the Fathers throne judging the nations as ONE. Mathew 18, Revelation 3:21, Rev. 3:9.

23:52 when I first noticed the chronology of Creation day Six (Gen 1:24-26; 2:4-3:24; 1:27-2:1) my first thought was that Adam#1 was set up to fail for some very good reason, and because he was set up, and the whole of Creation was looked at by the LORD as very good, there must be hope for Adam#1 himself. The answers the LORD gives to Jōb and the reader’s understanding of the backstory of the LORD’s conversation with Satan ( Jōb is never told about) was a clue to how my attitude should be adjusted to think of this. We have, at least one small glimpse into what’s going on in a realm hidden to our eyes, through Scripture. The LORD pretty much takes full responsibility for Jōb’s suffering, in his response to Jōb’s complaint & we know, that story has a good ending. Next, remember how the people would say of King Saul: “Is Saul also among the Prophets?” (1Sa10.12) David’s love for Saul’s son Jonathan, shows there is at least hope for Saul’s son, and since Saul was a sacrificial pawn, there might actually be some hope for him too, since the LORD is just, merciful, and fair! With this knowledge in our tool bag, we must be very afraid, carefully exercising a living faith, and working out our own salvation with fear and trembling! I could go on to talk about how all of the adults who came out of Egypt died without entering into the promised land, including Moses and Aaron, as an event that seems unfair, and frustrating to even think about, but the fact that Moses dies in the wilderness is a hint that something beyond our understanding is happening here! The same can be said with king David’s, & Solomon’s failures! The final advice given in Ecclesiastes is key here! The answer to all of this lies in Adam#2’s, success, and our putting all of our trust in his words, with unwavering devoted obedience!

53:22 The covenant was also cut; it’s setting up was accompanied by a sacrifice. Jesus said that in His final Passover meal with His disciples, there was a cup that was poured out… It was after they had eaten… the New Covenant in His blood.
    Luke 22:20
And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.

The phrase "all roads lead to Rome" is two fold in meaning. Most believe it's a phrase referring to Rome being economic hub of Europe. But only one, understands it has a sinister meaning.
Saying, if you write the world's best seller, what's going to stop you from writing another? All roads(paths) of religion lead back to Rome. And that each of these paths have a common denominator, God(Jesus Christ).
    Jesus is AKA;;
    Messiah
    Allah
    Buddha
    Shinto
    Newtonian
    Astrology
    Dao
    Tao
    and countless more.
Christianities doctrine is comprised of ambiguous sayings that keep your
mind within the confines of the box of religion. And I'm honestly telling you the answer to all of our questions lay on the narrow path, opposite the wide path of destruction. It's simple math.
According to the church(Jesus(God), to get to the narrow path, you must "Strive" to get there. It doesn't matter how much you pray or go to church.
you will remain on the road of destruction, unless you learn to "Strive" to the narrow road(path).
Okay, so if all of the masses(believers) are on the wide road, who is left over?
Can you answer that, or do you wish to not answer that. Let me break it down. If you have a basket of oranges(the living) and you put all the oranges that believe in God on the wide path, that means that the remaining oranges are non-believers. They play no part in religion and are not atheist or satanist, because that's all still a form of Worship.
So, after my using the words of the church, do you think I believe in God?
The answer to that can be found on the very very narrow path of free soul enthusiast. We are the non-believers. And trust me, The Pontiff Maximus and his Congregation travel this path.
    I'm labeled a deceiver, that I'm not.
This path is the road Untraveled.
It is The Highway. And the road I travel's a Bitch! I cant and wont turn back, because I know this is the way to eternal freedom, not to believe in God.
You do what you wish, due to the fact, that its not my responsibility to save your soul from Gods Wrath, its yours.
And you do it all in your head.
Those are your super natural capabilities, you just don't know theyre there, inside us, just waiting for you to you to utilize them.

Not in human form, but as he is in spirit. As the Lamb of God. I’ve already got my name written in the book of life and I know this because I have been taken to heaven in a night vision. And I saw all the things that will be. That John has also seen. I saw a new heaven and a new earth. I saw the souls of men. And women. Gathered on the sea of glass. And I stayed with them as we awaited our inheritance. And I heard a loud trumpet with the sound of rushing waters and rolling thunders to wish we sang hallelujah and praises to the Lamb of God.
