Add A Decal to a Fabric Backdrop

Adding a decal to a backdrop gives a very nice personalized touch to an event or just any room.
Here are a few tips on how to place a large decal on fabric. First of all slowly peel the clear transfer paper from the white shiny paper. Your decal should be sticking to the clear transfer paper. If it’s not just rub the back of the shiny paper with a credit card or a flat tool so your are just helping it transfer to the clear transfer paper.
Once you pull the clear transfer paper off stick the decal to the backdrop. The decal will be super sticky so make sure it doesn’t fold and stick to itself. If it’s too large for you to handle then ask someone to help. As you slowly peel off the transfer paper the decal may need help to stick to the fabric so slowly use the tips of your fingers to pry the decal off the transfer paper. You may want to cut the transfer paper as you peel if you are not able to manage the excess paper.
It’s not very difficult just slowly and patiently you have to peel the clear transfer paper off.

The best vinyl I use that is removable is Oracal 651 vinyl. It is permanent but you are able to remove it from fabric.

Really informative and well instructed video. That decal looks like a very high quality product compared to what I’ve seen. Can you share the contact info of the vendor who provided you with that decal? I would like to buy mine from them. And what size is that decal you show in yours video?

It’s called matte rose gold vinyl from StarCraft. The vendor I purchased from was 123 Vinyl. I haven’t bought from them for a while because the shipping was taking too long.

Do I need to use adhesive vinyl if I only want my decal temporary?

The permanent vinyl will come off the wall or fabric. If you don’t feel comfortable using the permanent vinyl then you can use the removable one. If you want it on for a day or 2 then the removable one should work just fine. I use the brand Oracal.

@@mayraparedes5023 best way to figure out sizing is using a design app. I use Affinity Designer. I create the shape of the backdrop then write my words. That way you can see sizing and placement. Thank you! Yes any vinyl should stick. Look for permanent or removable. I use Oracal brand. Oracal 651 is permanent and 631 is removable. I’m sure there is a distributor in the UK. You can contact them online and search for a distributor near you.
