Not that it makes any difference what I think, but if someone buys these properties, they better be damn willing and ready to keep up the tradition of the homes being a museum.
I think anyone who can afford and wants to purchase all said properties in this deal are probably huge fans of the classic film. I believe the Christmas Story home will be around for many years to come and continue on as a tourist destination.
If the lots are bought as a "bundle" purchase, it could be because developers want to tear the houses down and put in apartments/condos. That would be a shame.
k.j.paasche6523, that area is not a very attractive part of the city, and is surrounded by very unattractive industrial areas. Before the worked started on renovating the house and surrounding buildings, it was a poor neighborhood. If some developer tears down these buildings, the value of the area would drop and all there would remain would be some new apartments/condos in a crappy area with nothing to commend it. So it’s for sale as an attraction and not a residence. I used to live in SF near the Full House location and people all the time came year round to visit and take tons of pictures and it’s a actual residence.

I thought the original movie was filmed in Toronto, even though it was set in Cleveland. Movie companies love to film in Canada. The Highlander TV series was filmed in Vancouver, which they lazily renamed "Seacouver." The Deadpool movies were filmed in Vancouver and starred a Vancouverite. Maybe it was just the scenes at the house in A Christmas Story that were shot in Cleveland because, like most Americans, the filmmakers thought Canada is a 365 day winter wonderland and everyone lives in an igloo. I see those ski racks crossing the border in July. It's quite hilarious, actually. Whenever I need a good laugh, I watch Rick Mercer's Talking To Americans. "Manger poutine!"
