Nice job, bro I wish I had seen your video before installing mine a couple of days ago even though I searched on YT and watched several others, I tried the exact same methods you did with taping the brackets on first, trial and error but got there in the end. Also, I made the same mistakes on the diffuser brackets 😀. My X5 looks super aggressive now and if anyone out there is thinking about this, just go ahead and buy them.
Excellent diy video buddy, I had the exact same set on my x5 for about 2 months but had to take it off then switched to OEM, because I can’t stand the poor fitment and finish. This lip actually looks pretty decent on a black X5 because being all black the whole front end blend together nicely that you won’t notice much details of the lip. But be aware if you plan to install this on a lighter colour x5 especially white, all the details shows and the lip is pretty stand out because of the contrast in colour.
You’re right, not too many install videos for the X5 platform. In hindsight, would you have just gone the body shop route? I have a carbon kit coming in and I’m debating if I want to try and do the install on my F85 or take it to a shop. Thanks for posting!
It’s two completely different kits. I wouldn’t know how difficult it would be to install it on an f85. I would say try it. And go the shop route if it’s too difficult

I just installed mine today. the fitment is straight trash... like how is it supposed to hold in front where the bracket goes you can only use double sided tape. I used the tape and put 2 flat head screws in front of each holds pretty dam strong. also bro I see that you didn't install the side extensions with the diffuser. honestly imo it looks much cleaner without them... I feel like the x5 looks weird from the side with it on. is I just installed diffuser only.
Yea I had to do some modifications to the front lip brackets for it to align properly… it was trial and error for sure! And yes, the side pieces on the rear defused imo look funny. So I tossed them lol

Thank you for the compliment! As far as hardware, I would say anything that can withstand the torque of a drill. The hardware that it brought, once I started to drill the head started to strip. You can try the double sided tape.. just remember it might become a trial and error to get it perfectly aligned

Unfortunately it expired… but you can find them on eBay by typing in the year BMW X5 M Sport Lip Kit. If you do most have the M Sport, the kit will be different

I have a buddy with a white x5 with the same lip but carbon fiber.. looks real nice

Without the bracket it’s going to be tough. You can try to adhere it with glue or double sided tape. But it’s risky. Wish you luck

Its lowered. I have a video up putting in the springs. You would probably have to paint it blue, have only seen black and carbon fiber
