    Nice looking belt. It does have a lot of sizes. It reminds me of the belt manufactured by Naked. The bib and poles feature is nice. Amazing how much gear it will hold. Great review Martin! I currently use a Ultimate Direction belt.

      Thanks Richard, I've never known a pack or belt have so many size options! Definitely has plenty of great features though 👍

    Thanks for sharing this detailed review of the Instinct reflex running belt, Martin. It's great to see how you've tested it thoroughly and provided insights on sizing and usability. Your demonstration of how to put on a race bib without safety pins is quite handy too. Keep up the good work with your reviews! 🏃‍♂

      Thanks Mihai, I use this belt on most of my runs now, it's really handy to have, fits a lot of gear when needed & super comfy 😀

      Yeah, me too. I use one from Naked, I put my flask in it, my phone if I need a gel and even a jacket.

    great review very comprehensive. I am the same measurement as you so good to know to size up. I currently have a Compressport Run Free Pro belt but this looks just as good with the tunnel pocket and pull tabs

    I wish we had a variety of brands here. Been looking for running belt suitable for very long runs. I use Naked belt, it's good enough for 50km but I chafe afterwards. I might try Salomon Sense Pro belt next. Looks similar to this instinct model.

      Can you not order it in from the internet Simon? Or do you have import restrictions? I've not run over 50k in this belt, so couldn't honestly tell you how the chaff age might be at that distance 🏃‍♂️ Good luck with the Salomon if that's what you go for 👍

      @@TheDeterminedRunner we have crazy tariff rates that doubles the prices if we order abroad. Dealers are our best channel on a regular day unless there is some sort of mega sale.

    That looks pretty handy Martin. I used a different belt, narrower than this one and it was not stable, therefore a bit annoying. This one looks pretty wide, so I guess much more stable and comfy. Thanks for sharing it! Nice review as usual!

      Thanks Stelvio, you're right about it being wider & more stable, definitely my most comfortable/non-noticeable belt!

    Great review I do love a good running belt. I use one end of a hole punch to get a nice neat hole in a race number. I’ll defo be checking these out.

      Cheers Jim, Belts are just so handy when you don't need a vest 😀

    Martin, thanks for introducing us to awesome gear and products. Like the ability to slip the trekking poles into the pocket without having to wrestle with bungee cords. Not sure about the bib fasteners, I would struggle putting on the toggles. Overall, very functional.

      Thanks Reto, it's a nifty bit of kit that I find myself using on most of my runs now, maybe they'll think of a different system for the bib fasteners? I'll certainly give them the feedback from some comments 👍

    It's astonishing how much stuff you can comfortably fit in there. Looks really good.
    I just have one question about when you're loading it up. If you can't remember which items need to be dropped on the floor before putting them in, would it be ok to just chuck everything on the floor at the start, then load up? 😅

  • @brianjohnston2959

    Wow, functional at a good price point. I do like the defective pocket pull tabs. Pole holder is a nice touch and one that I would use. Just don't like the race bib cord locks because they have to be removed and reattached, which looks like bad idea--you dropped one! I prefer the little metal thingamabobs that fold to pass along the cord through the bib and then fold out a bit to stop the bib from falling off.

    • @TheDeterminedRunner
      @TheDeterminedRunner  10 місяців тому +1

      Thanks Brian, typical I dropped the cord lock on the video! I'd say if you attach the bib before putting the waist belt on, it would be easier (it's not difficult to do when wearing it, but if you have butter fingers like me, anything can happen 😂). I know what you mean with the thingamabobs, reduces the chance of dropping them to zero 👍

      I nearly lost a race bib in strong winds with those metal thingamabobs so I don't trust that approach anymore.

    Thank you for the review! Do you think this belt would feel fine underneath a t shirt against the skin? (Only need it for phone & a soft flask)

    • @TheDeterminedRunner
      @TheDeterminedRunner  3 місяці тому +1

      Thanks Scott, It feels fine against the skin, though it fits best when over the hips slightly, the best option would be over the top part of the shorts & under the t-shirt 👕
