I never buy anything in brazil. it's all overpriced. you can find better in your own country

Some things are not overpriced like clothes (cheap) especially paying in dollars. But electronics, forget it! Buy all electronics in your home country for sure.

Black Circle, it depends on the city/town and neighborhood. Rio is a very touristic city and this "shopping" (they are simply called this way in Brazil) is located in the most touristic region. Residents of these regions normally suffer from higher prices (restaurants etc.). If you go to more distant neighborhoods, suburbs etc. almost everything is less expensive. But electronics and automobiles are in general really expensive everywhere because of taxes. We have for example a big public healthcare that doesn't exist in some countries and a lot of people use it even without paying a cent of taxes (the most poor). So, taxes come from different sources to keep services etc.

@@nancyleal2529 Yes, I will never buy electronics here in Brazil. When I am in Canada again, I will get the stuff I need there. I know things are generally more cheaper in less touristy neighborhoods. I've been coming to Brazil since 2012. But good to still have this information here for others to read when they pass by this video.

@@nickmusttravel, yes, correct, we should "profit" the best occasions. Many Brazilians who are in the US, Canada etc. do the same and come to Brazil to use the public or private healthcare because in the US (only private) it's too expensive and in Canada (only public hospitals) there are long lines for everything. They also come for dentists. Despite our more devalued currency it's "a party" for Brazilian tourists to buy electronics in the US. The flights coming from North America are always the most targeted by authorities because more people omit that they are bringing purchases above the tax exemptiom limit. I always see videos of Brazilians there wanting to attract more views by showing good cars (but in general old and used) and good electronics to pass the impression they are "very well" , but hide they are sharing rent with other people etc. For foreigners who intend to spend just sometime here as "digital nomads" etc. it's better to rent an apartment etc. with electronics and so save more money. The neighborhoods in the "south zone" of Rio are also more expensive because they are near the beaches.

@@nancyleal2529 Agreed. I do not live in the south zone anymore nor do I make a lot of money to live in the south zone. I live outside the city and I am happy I made the move to a cheaper location. My main reason for coming to Brazil was the weather, the nature and lower cost of living (for me) some of the people are nice too but Brazilians very naïve when it comes to a lot of things but I'll save that for another video.

Hi, your video was pretty decent. However, some of your comments were inappropriate because you do not know the culture. 😢 and food is part of that culture. It is an acquired taste, if ever! Your camera is good, and your pace as well 😮 also, some parts of the country, have different culture, it has to do with weather and their ancestry...hope you come back and learn some more...😊

@@sandrayork4856 what comments did I say were inappropriate, please elaborate. Also, I live in Brazil thus I know the culture very well and have been coming to Brazil for many years visiting many different states . Check out my channel and you will see that I have been to many places. Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
