Foreigners about education in Russia | Is it hard to study in a Russian university?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 тра 2019
- In this video, I talked about the differences that I see between education in Russia and the USA universities (because I studied in West Virginia). I also asked international students who study in Moscow what they think about the education system of Russia, our campus and the university.

Best part: you don't have to pay an arm and a leg unlike most US universitys!
WHAT
@@mahdisimyarian5651it means American universities are expensive, not actually giving out an arm😂
Maybe a kidney is also not enough for Indian students!
My current Russian instructor is very demanding and hard. I have to do a great deal of memorizing and studying. She is very much a product of the Russian education system and she earned her Master's in Russian.
My impression that I got from my current Russian instructor is that in regards to math, science, technology, medicine, and languages, the Russian education system is very good and some of the best in the world. I expect education to be tough and hard.
There is also a very clear line in Russian education it seems between student and teacher with some level of discipline and respect and things are always professional. My Russian instructor told me that during Soviet times, Soviet education was strict.
I think some level of rules, discipline and order is needed for a good education system. Teachers and students are not equals. Teachers are the boss and students work hard and listen to the teacher and do as they are told.
Yeah. Russian education best in the world on science (mathematics, physics etc)

Spectacular video. Thank you!
Hey ^^ just seen your video i came this year to russia to study and what can i say wonderfull by the way i like your videos keep up ;)
Bro how is the lessons?
I guess ma #1 reason to study there is the society, there are beautiful, creative, open-minded people out there and that's what i like about it.
Thank you Eli! Very inspiring video!
Great vid! Thank you!
I love how unbiased this video was, seriously it has been of great help. Thank you!
@@ElifromRussia i studied economy and i want to inform you that the economic problems in russia are caused by the US. the world is a big economic piramid controlled by the US, where the SWIFT stransaction system, the world central bank are controlled by the USA gov. and many other assest are forced to be sold using the US dollar making their currency rising illegaly in a fake way. And then people stay by the side of who has money, the US (also if it has money by abusing the control of ecomony that the world gave to the US after the WW2) and people hate putin thinking its his fault if there are economic problema in Russia, when in reality its the US that is oppressing Russia for many years and even more now.
About the demilitarization mission, putin only wanted the neutrality of Ukraine because was a soviet region and for the pact of Varsavia should be allied of Russia and not a US puppet. The US gov. broke the pact of varsavia and the pact of minsk invading the russan allied countries and even Ukraine. NATO did exercitation and even put american military bases in the ex soviet region, the ukranian government toke control promising the big american money to ukranians and they fell for it (thats the fake democracy where who make more fake promises win and leftist kill rightist and viceversa to distract people from the government fault and give ppl the illusion of a choice). Now ukraine is an American puppet, Russian in ukraine are called inferior race and get discrimination and the kiev army shoot at Russians. The cia even did experiment to diffuse covid in Russia to ruin their economy, if i was in you i would fight against the American propaganda like millions of people in europe where I live. If the US stop sending weapons the war would be finished without any dead and ukranians would benefit from being friends with Russia instead of being an american puppet against russia.
Stop sending weapons for american interests of controlling Ukraine and stop using ukranians as human shields. Ukrainians and Russians are both slavic brothers and sister part of the ex sovietic union, they got divided in the past by the US propaganda but the US propaganda and money corruption won't divide them again. Stop nato. Help Russia against the american oppression.
Very well produced video. You show a variety of opinions from many different people.
Eli...you are a remarkable person. Your balanced, intelligent, delightful advocacy for human to human understanding is a genuine contribution to peace and decency. In a world with too little of both. Thank you for all.
Okay simp. She didn't even give any substantive information or explain living conditions or language courses available or how Russian universities compare on international rankings or...
I absolutely agree with this
I think best part is the teachers and their attitude towards the students... forever ready to help, full of kindness and also the standard of education...
I love this... I’ll be in Russia 🇷🇺 soon
Ram Dewasi hello
I"II BE IN RUSSIA....VERY SOON
Me too
An important note.... The choice of courses in America is a mock choice... In any case, you are required to study the same amount of courses at each level. In most cases, for each course you want to study, you find it linked to a required course.... It means that you study some pre-determined courses every year, as in Russian universities, instead of the illusion of choice in America... In fact, there is no choice and nothing.
Excellent coverage
Nice , So great video , you are a good content creator ..
Elina, your videos are so interesting to me! I was born in the Soviet Union, but moved to the United States with my parents when I was young in 1994, so it is so so interesting to see your videos and see what my life might have been like if we did not leave Russia. :) Also, so surprising how many international students there are! Maybe it is because Yaroslavl is a smaller city, but when I visit my family there, I do not see very many foreigners. Thank you for sharing your videos with us! - Sasha
you look so russian.

I think that it would be much easier to learn the Russian language if you went to live in Russia. I just need to hear native speakers of a language to get a feel for the sound of it.
I envy Russians for their climate. Here in the gulf coast of Texas, the heat and humidity are insufferable. I have to live indoors in the air conditioning. Once, when I lived in Austin, the temperature got to 102 Fahrenheit in February. Siberia sounds good to me.
Hi i from Bangladesh. Your English pronunciation so good that i understand easily . Yoy and your video is nice to me.
Eli my sister, you are a Russian and starting by this first video to description of the russian aducation system.... OK..... I gave up my questiones. Please keep post us your local voyage. Why i am waiting for you more... Many thanks again...

Hi!! I'm brazilian and I really love learning about new things, new cultures, and right after I saw your video, I got so curious about how is the feeling of being sorrounded by so many interesting and different people.
Well, I'm in highschool right now in the inland of south, and I can tell you that here were I live we unfortunately have poor schools because of the terrible management of the government, which screws up with our education and that's way a big side of the country remains without education. The thing is, if you are poor in Brazil, you need to have the guts to pass through it and study all on you own to conquer at least a job that pays you less than two hundred bucks per month (here is like 822 reais). At the same time it makes me feel demotivated, I'm up to try my best to maybe someday get into a great university! And I hope that over the time, more and more people get into the best of the universities too :)
@Cassi Baka I’m in a similar situation so I can relate. It’s also extremely competitive here so you have to work really hard. Anyways, best of luck to you! One can achieve anything with grit.
Rapaz, esta universidade russa é a melhor universidade de toda a Rússia. Falo isto, com base em todos os os rankings que, eu li. Sinceramente, neste caso, eu recomendo desistir, antes mesmo de tentar ir, nesta universidade russa.
@@melika3519 I don't think that a Brazilian must try this Russian University. Even for Russians, this university needs great effort.
Keep it up!
hi Elina, do you have any idea to study music (specifically piano) in Russia to get a degree in music? , something like russian music institute.

Hi Elina, very nice video, Russia is the best for education, and we are going to start Design school in Moscow specially for international students. ❤️
Love your channel Eli! I'm an American who has roots from Russia Rostov on one side and Krasnodar on the other) but unfortunately my family have lost our connection to Russian culture. What opportunities do you have as a Russian student after graduation to get a good job in Russia? In the auto industry? In mechanical engineering? In the electrical industry (semiconductor computer chip) I am not saying that Russia does not have the potential, but bright minds prefer to leave Russia.
The way you turn your hairs from one side to other it is beautiful ,,,,you are good girl
I like your channel. Continue to produce those contents.
I love Russia very much after my motherland. And want to study there in September intake this year. Sister, I want to travel to some of the best places in Russia with you one day, inshallah. I am Mr. Mahibullah from Bangladesh.❤❤

In Italy we always complain about everything, but I think that our university system is good. I graduated in foreign languages and literatures at the university of Turin and I must say that it's as efficent as any other countries. In Russia you certainly have a good university system, too. Anyway, most people can pass colleges in the US if they're foreign, especially from Russia, China, India, and some middle eastern countries. It means that American universities give certificates on demand and ready without any effort. I know students from the East whose level is zero, and despite that, they returned with certificates from America. In this regard, studying in Russia is much better for students
I just viewed your video. I find your English to be very fluent, with the single exception of the word ruble, lol, we pronounce it rooble...
I'd really love to study in Russia, but i dont have much informations😅 What about Lomonosov uni? Its my big dream
Thanks
Я от Америки, и я бы хотел учиться в Москве потому что я уже знаю русский язык и я просто хочу посмотреть как в России.
Я тоже

Great video ,nice interview. In Russia 🇷🇺 to study the best universities in the wor🌎... thats why is hard to study. Its very simple the great education.
nice video. i study in Moscow on the first year of magister degree. so, i live in Moscow about 2 year. i started learning russian in 2019 on preparation class. at that time, living in Moscow is so beautiful, but after come to the master degree in russian class, all i learnt from from preparation class is totally different and enhace hard level of studying. in the middle of the year, i still strugling, dealing with my insecurities. my target is only for graduating from russia. i don't care if i get bad marks, the import is graduate. my thought is foreigner nothing compare with russian languange. i hope everybody who wants to study russia, they "must" prepare everything.
What country did you come to study in Russia from?
Do you like studying here?
i like it. i just feel like very hard to have friend in Rusia, especially in Moscow city.
Can I do BMM in Russia after graduating from high school? Which college is best in Moscow?
Hello Eli! Which program do you use to edit your videos? Love them.

Are lectures given in Russian language or in English in Russian University? If the lectures are given in Russian language then how do foreign students understand lectures?
How I can get admission for Phd in engineering with scholarship....is it possible??
hi deae we want study in rusia nd work within study how can we apply pls tell us
I have one question the guy that said the language is difficult and he can’t do it , is the syllabus in Russian or English?
Yeah, that guy was being perfectly honest about his inability to learn the Russian language sufficiently to pursue studies there. It certainly would not be easy.
What do you think of a person applying to a university in Russia at the age of 32? Do you happen to meet older students?
universities all around the world do not discriminate by age. thats the beauty of university. you shouldn't be surprised to see 40 year old and 50 year old students walking around campus. you tend to hear about middle-aged people who are unhappy with their professions and choose to go back to school to seek out different careers. for higher degrees like masters and phDs, you ARE expected to be older and more experienced, and many professors even prefer that. so don't feel discouraged, go ahead and apply.
Learning Russian by learning all the Grammar immediately is too difficult for many students, and if they can have 2 years of practicing speaking in context, and building vocabulary then they can achieve it. Do your universities ask students to question everything they learn? I wouldn't think that they would (it doesn't seem to be the Russian way), but it can help the faculty also to know that some knowledge should be tested, and the way to progress is by this path.
Love this video from India
I always wanted to go to day school, but I do not remember the lectures. Plus, and I'm used to it, I have to do odd things to remember, and it's worse now. It took me 6 months and 6 hours a day to pass Anthropology 101 at Mizzou (a real university). I was close to an "A," but I was tired. I'm not university material because I'm slow. Anyway, most people can pass colleges in the US if they're foreign, especially from Russia, China, India, and some middle eastern countries. I go as a non-degree seeking student. Do you have that in Russia? My favorite classes are self-paced. I love the acidic rain on me because I don't have a BS, and I also have to die for liking people who have a degree. It's like, and what have you done? By the way, when we're in bloom, your sidekick with a master's degree doesn't care about my future death. He's young and will hop on anything. Try being 1 to 10 with that age group in the army! I love when they beg. It's like, no, go away.
A star is born.
hey.. do u have any idea about Stankin University.. is it good and all of that plz answer I will really appreciate it
There are good universities in Russia like Moscow
Stankin is ok, but if you need really good technical education try BMSTU, Moscow Aviation Institute, Moscow Nuclear Intsitute (МИФИ), MIPT.
I know my answer is too late but it will be useful for someone.
If i come Russia, can i get part time job.
Cool video! I’m looking forward to visiting Russia. Who does that song towards the beginning at 2:07?
Which song used in starting?
In the top 100 of the QS world University Rankings "Lomonosov Moscow State University" is the only Russian school. Moreover, it sits at 90th. There are bigger issues right now than inadvertent misinformation but still.

Wow! It looks so big and spread out. I totally get the guy who's given up, I tried learning Russian and it is a beautiful language but difficult to learn.
Am really glad I found your channel, I am planning to study in Russia in 2 years because am currently doing 2 years of community college here in America and then transfer to University (In Russia) to finish off my last two years and get my Bachelor’s degree in political science. But I really scared to the risk and study internationally to a foreign country language I don’t know well. ( I only speak English and Spanish) Am just wondering the places I should visit that a English speaker can go to, for example Shops, grocery, restaurants, and etc. I have never been to any other foreign country (beside Mexico) that I understand or speak the language, Should I take the risk and go for it?
¿De que país sos? Yo también hablo español (soy de 🇦🇷)

Really, is not difficult to imagine the language to be the harsh barrier.
Good I understand that education is taken seriously learning is not an accident or a fluke
