Porsche Panamera PDK Transmission failure | Here is the first PDK beyond repair

Water intrusion through the breather/vent can cause damage to the transmission. We have extended vents on all SUV models per the TSB, but unfortunately, on PANAMERA's, this is how they are.

Do the Cayman's have a "true" PDK, or is it the same as this Panamera?

Interesting that DSGs can't be rebuilt in the field but PDKs are.
That is not a drain breather. That hole is for air to escape due to thermal expansion. Otherwise, the seals may fail.

That's correct. It's a breather/vent, as stated at 0.53 seconds. Disregard the misspoke in the video. There is a full description in the video description section of what occurred.
