    I am pretty handy, but I'm no expert on cars. This tutorial made changing the brake pads on my 2003 Toyota Echo about as easy as changing a tire! Thank you.

    Newbies note! The reason FAB-B uses an old brake pad on the piston to compress it, is to avoid damaging the walls of the piston by pushing on just one side or the other. Such damage can lead to the caliper freezing up. If it does, you will notice the pull to that side and the SMELL of your pads "burning". Like that you cleaned the bracket components, but shouldnt' there be a wee bit of hi temperature grease on the bracket surfaces where the pads ride? (And on the backs of the pads where the caliper piston sets? oops, I spoke too soon)

    Excellent video. One question: how can I turn the steeling wheel to an angle when only one wheel is jacked up? Thanks.

    Great diy but why did you not use grease behind your brake disc as i that on the other videos

    • @fab-b9818
      @fab-b9818  7 років тому

      Thanks ! I did put copper grease between the back of the pads and the caliper. Did you mean something else ?

    • @somethingtrulyhorrifying
      @somethingtrulyhorrifying 7 років тому

      Hey man, I read this and I think he means between the rotor and the hub assembly...Great video though, couldn't explain it much better than this. Did the brakes and rotor on toyota echo after watching, felt good.

    • @fab-b9818
      @fab-b9818  7 років тому

      Hi, you're right, that's probably what he meant. I didn't put grease there but indeed it's not a bad idea to avoid sticking of the rotor.
      Glad you found my explanations clear and good on you for the doing the job ;¬).

    Why is it that even after changing the pads, at the very end, we can still some sort of grinding noise when attempting to spin the wheel?

    • @fab-b9818
      @fab-b9818  5 років тому

      The padsare still "rough" and they have to bed in witht the discs, so that grinding noise is normal just after the job (if everything has been well mounted).

    mon echo commence a sifler quand je roule, parfois non.
    Est-ce un signe d'usure?

    • @fab-b9818
      @fab-b9818  5 років тому

      Très difficile à dire comme ça, ça peut venir de tellement de choses...

      En effet ça bouge pas mal ! J'ai l'impression qu'un support moteur est mort, du coup toute cette partie du moteur tremble exagérément.

    Can you use anti seize grease?

    • @fab-b9818
      @fab-b9818  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, but if you are not familiar with the use of that grease, better not put any.
