Very good, very unusual (that people would dare to confront rather than just report running away from a beastie. Makes a refreshing change). Strongly hints at an interesting history between this community and these creatures. Had me hooked throughout the story.
In Alaska, we call them kooshtaka’s, they also shapeshift & usually will make themselves look like their victim to mess with their mind. The kooshtakas often spirit people away, they travel through “our” world and the spirit world. I came across one when I was 13 in Sitka, Alaska.
When I was a boy I lived in a rural section of Michigan. For those who have never been there the Great Lakes state is full of deep and dark forests and cold vast lakes. People often dissapear into the wilds never to be heard from again. One afternoon I decided to take a walk in the forest near my home. I had done it many times before and made my way home without incident. It was a beautiful spring day and I ventured deeper into the forest then I ever had. Then abruptly all noise in the forest stopped. I leaned back against a tree listened for a second. Nothing could be heard. No buzzing of insects. No birdsong. Not even the sound of the wind. Nothing but stillness. My heart began to pound in my chest. I began to feel is if I was being watched. In fact I was certain about it. I turned and broke into a full run. I ran as fast as I could possibly go. I bobbed and weaved around the trees and jumped over anything low enough to impede my progress. I didn't look back. I was too terrified to. I was afraid of what I might see. I didn't hear the sounds of pursuit. But that ment nothing to me. I didn't stop until I reached my home. It was only then I looked back into the forest. The stillness was gone. The normal sounds of the forest were once again present. I stood there, doubled over and out of breath. Staring into the forest. I never felt that way again out there. But as I grew older and I began to confide in others who had traversed the deep forests of Michigan I began to learn I was not alone.......... Great video Simon. Keep up the good work.
@@rayfairbanks6280 just because weird things happen doesn’t mean we always gotta be the skeptics. granted, many things need them, but did this? all the guy said was that he saw something weird.
@@bennnoboyo5238 i didn't even see anything strange. The forest just suddenly felt off. Like when you walk into a room of friends and suddenly everyone goes quiet. I apparently wasn't in on the joke. And I didn't stick around to learn what the punchline was.
@@bennnoboyo5238 over the years I have spoken with many who have spent a lot of time in the forests of Michigan. Hunters and hikers ect. Many of them have reported the unsettling stillness that I ran into that day. The forest has a rhythm of it's own making. An underlying current of sound. That day everything abruptly stopped. Like you hit pause on your stereo. No noise whatsoever. The region of the Great Lakes is known for it's disappearances of ships and people the world over. I don't know what happened that day in 1987. But I could feel that something was wrong. And I didn't stick around to find out what.
The effort that clearly goes into writing and illustrating these is genuinely amazing, thank you for making something like this available for free, to everyone.
I had recently stumbled across your channel by accident. I was looking for a channel that has a name similar to yours but only slightly different. I watch a number of different channels with everything from paranormal to kittens. But when I saw yours I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. You seem to tell stories that sounds like they could be true and still fantastically unbelievable. You definitely have my subscription and I look forward to hearing more from you soon. But right now I’m busy going over your older material and enjoying every bit.
Well done as always guys! 👏 The artwork of the Boq was particularly great (a wonderful reminder of why I don't stray near the woods) you can really see the passion in yall's work. It's also nice to see you guys expanding on your universe and characters. Can't wait for the next nightmare-inducing adventure gents! ;)
I like these kinds of sidestories. They expand on the lore of the setting, establishing that regardless of time period or in war or peace, there will always be some form of weird or otherworldly threat out there.
So Johnny was not the only Greywolf who experienced something out of the ordinary. His brother did too. Speaking of Alexander, did he serve in ww2 and did he experienced something unexplained like his brother did in the Ardennes? Guess time will tell when another unclassified encounter story about the Greywolfs is shown.
Well, that was scary! I wonder how you sleep at night with your horror stories bouncing around in your head? Another shudder inducing monster to liven up my imagination. Artwork was fantastic too. Love your videos.
Terrific story of man versus monster. There is actually a legend that took place in 1855 in Oklahoma of a sizable party of Choctaws who battled 3 creatures similar to the Boq. The Choctaws prevailed and killed all 3, but the leader of the party had his head ripped off.
@@glamdolly30 That reminds me of a press conference from several years ago. It was the surgeon who performed Micky Mantles liver transplant. He stated that the donor saved several other lives by donating his organs. A reporter shouted out "is the donor still alive"?

Great episode to fill in the backstory of a favourite existing character… Will we be seeing the Greywolf brothers together in a future episode perhaps? 👍🏻😃
@@UnclassifiedEncounter Well, if you ever do it, I'll be watching. There were so many cultures congregating in those wars that there are a plethora of monsters you could pull from.
*looks at description* Ah, so it IS Johnny Greywolf's origins. Well, time to partake. (Don't reply as of yet. I'll say it's allowed when I say it's done.)
*sighs* I said, not now. Even leaving a heart would be tantamount. Well, guess the notorious Children of the Night of SCP mythos are back to traumatize us humans. 8:46: Guess we're gonna make a The Mandalorian reference later on. Geez, a Yautja/Sangheili-like apeman?! Now THAT is the stuff of nightmares! Leaving a message to the other side, smart. Good bookends too. Well, I'm done. Feel free.
