We have the same preferences 😊 Chanel foundations are just the best for mature skin. They just are. Those "classic" luxury brands are generally best for mature skin in my experience.
I agree! I did a sis by side test with another leading brand, and hands down, Chanel was THE BEST! This was a few years ago and I’ve been ill, so I can’t go out and try on foundations. Mine says it’s Bisque, but #41. Doesn’t make sense! It was one of the lightest shades!
I would really recommend trying vitalumiere aqua, it has been my go to since the day it was released and still the only one I’d consider for use abroad, sunscreen goes on amazing underneath and it honestly lasts all day, and I’ve used it many many times for 12+ hours days in Disney World’s Florida heat and humidity in July!
My skin is really dry and the le beiges healthy glow is DEFINITELY my favorite foundation. You obviously have too many really good foundations to do this but I also have the ultra le teint velvet which I can't wear alone BUT, I will mix it with the le beiges to make it a little less glowy. That works for me! I also have the tint and touch, the tint is like you said, perfect for no makeup makeup days. I actually use the touch as a concealer. For some reason, probably bc it's water based, it doesn't crease on my undereye areas. I find it gives a really brightening but natural effect to my eyes. I may have to try the OG ultra le tint now! Thanks for all your hard work
Loved this!!!! Thank you so much - I agree Chanel le Teint is one of my go-to’s when I need a reliable full coverage. Sadly the hourglass didn’t work on my texture, but the Chanel is great, and the price is pretty much the same!
Hi Charlotte, I am so glad that I watched this video. I wanted to buy Chanel foundation but I wasn’t sure what to buy. I have normal to dry skin. I was leaning toward No 1. It’s a beautiful foundation I tested it for a week. I don’t like dewy or shiny look. Right now I am using Estee Lauder’s double wear. And Lancôme Teint Idole. I love to watch your videos ❤.
I love les beiges and the ultra le teint depending on the occasion. Not such a fan of the water fresh tint but it's nice to use in the summer when it's really hot and anything else will slide off my face!
Channel N1 is sooo beautiful but I feel it does not last on me but I just purchased the Ultra Le Teint 24 hours and I loooooove it! I think I love it more then Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate.
I recently got a sample of No.1 and I am so impressed with the finish. I never rave about products, but that formula is just beautiful. Makes me look like I've just had a facial. Glorious.
Looking for a new foundation for my mature skin, I did a search for Chanel foundations. Your video answers all my questions.I plan to try both the No. 1 and the original Water Fresh. Without your video, I wasn’t sure where to start. Thank you!
I feel the Sublimage foundation is disappointing. It doesn’t wear well on my dry skin at all. I do however adore Vitalumiere Aqua (Lisa Eldridge got me on to that years ago!!). I was looking at the waterfresh tint and complexion touch. Thanks for your review- I think I will be leaning towards the tint!! ❤
Chanel No 1 is on my wish list. But here (Germany) it's 72€ which makes it 10% more expensive than your £54 (at this evening's exchange rate). So: off to Selfridges on my next trip home! Plus it then comes out of holiday spending money - double win! 😀Great video Charlotte - thank you!
Love the Water Fresh Tint and would be happy to wear it everyday if only it didn't run out so quickly for something so expensive. Excited to try the No.1 foundation soon!
It was recommended to me that I should try Chanel foundation and my plan was to go into the store tomorrow but I’m glad I watched the video so that I can just ask to go straight for the no.1 foundation as usually we have similar lives of foundation. Thank you Charlotte
It's very rare that my experiences and ranking of products correlates exactly to someone else's but it appears we are Chanel foundation twins! I agree with absolutely every placement and every comment you made. One little tip for the Ultra Le Teint that I discovered and that, for me at least, pushes it up the rankings to be almost...almost on a par with No.1 is to mix it with a luminous, glowy, bronzing liquid. The one I recommend and use is Oskia Nutri-Bronze and I find that a half-half mix or perhaps a three quarters Nutri-Bronze to quarter Chanel transforms the Chanel into such a dreamy, long-wearing yet luminous, perfected, natural finish, so much so that I get compliments on my skin when I wear this (which never happens!) I only discovered this combination because I had the same problem with the shades in the Ultra Le Teint formula. I am warm-toned and usually fall into the BD- shades in Chanel. In the Ultra Le Teint, my BD shade has a distinct pink tone which I needed to try to rectify. The Oskia Nutri-Bronze does this but also tones down what can be a slightly more flat finish. It lifts it and gives you the flexibility to have the long-wear and skin-perfecting qualities of Ultra Le Teint but to make the finish as glowy and luminous and naturally skin-like as you choose. For reference, I have normal combination, mature skin and I have no problems with this combination getting too oily, sliding or fading. I'm sorry you had the same experience with the Complexion Touch as I did. It showed up dry patches I didn't even know I had and emphasised every flaw. Not my favourite either! x x x
I enjoy the waterfresh foundation, but must note a good dupe, not even a dupe I think it's better - is the Estee lauder daywear sheer tint release. If you have light - medium skin tone, it's SO beautiful. I often prefer it over the chanel.
Yes water fresh tint is a magic in a bottle, so special and I'm oily and live in a very sunny and humid climate 🥵, I use 2 pomps... Le tent ultra is one of my favorites as well as the velvet, I can use Les beiges even on my skin but I prefer more matte natural finish ❤
I loved the ranking!small suggestion is i would find it verrt useful if you had a b roll that you apply this so I can get a sense of the description in reality, how it sits etc. But it s just my opinion and nothing more!
I love them all, but since I have dry skin, sometimes I mix them , depending on humidity of the air. If it’s hot and humid, I mix half a pump of N.1 and half Ultra le Teint 😊
Ohh Charlotte i love watching your videos you are so charming ❤sweet and funny . My life hasnt been easy but you make me smile every week 😘thank you for being you . A tip try Guerlain L essential glow foundation love it 👌😉Big hug from Sweden 🇸🇪 . 🌹
Foundation is by far my favorite makeup category and I have never tried Chanel! The #1 you ranked first place is definitely going on my buy list. But first I gotta make room…..😂
This was very helpful as I found them confusing and don’t have a store nearby to check them out and get help. I’ll now be ordering Water Fresh Tint and Chanel No1. Thank you so much for your lending me your expert opinion. You never steer me wrong.
I’m using Les Beige Tint Chanel foundation Whenever I wear it I get so so so much compliments all the time. It glowsssssss ❤❤❤ I wish u wear and show us all the foundation the consistency Can u plz do a comparison of the Laura Mercier VS ales beige
Hi , which one you think should be best of all for dry skin ? And do they have any for sensetive acne prone skin ? Your make up looks lovely by the way . 😊
Exactly what I needed when I needed it. I have grown to love the Water Fresh Tint and adore the Number One, so was looking at the Chanel Water Fresh Complexion Touch, which I heard was originally supposed to be a concealer (ergo the tiny “face” brush), but I’ve now been dissuaded from that one, thank you! I’ll stick with the Number One, Water Fresh Tint, Lisa Eldridge, and Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin. As for the worst foundation on your list? It put me off Chanel foundation until very recently, it was so awful on my dry skin. Kind of the absolute worst! Glad I’m not alone in that.
I Own All Of The Chanel Foundations And They All Are Beautiful On My Skin. I’m Normal Skin And I Live In NYC…All Seasons…I Never Look Cakey/Dry/Oily/Old. Aqua Is My Favorite Because It’s My Everyday Foundation…
Hi im thinking to invest in chanel foundation n after a lot of research the came down to tht black foundation velvet which is matte but as she said she didn’t like it ,, it sucks the life out of her skin,,, can u please tell me is really tht bad,, i dont like dewy foundation
Ohhh this is such great timing... I was going back and forth between a few of the Chanel foundations. What shade do you wear in the Water Fresh Tint? And do you find it has good lasting power on you?
While I have not used all the Chanel foundations, the ones I have used are superb. The color match is excellent (B20) and it lasts on my skin. My least favorite is the No,1, though, which adds nothing helpful, it seems too flat and opaque.
I just recently tried the Les Beiges Water Tint. I loved the feeling of it, and it gave my skin a youthful glow. I wanted to love it, but it gave next to no coverage to my skin. I realize it's supposed to be a subtle tint, but I didn't even feel like I got that much. I couldn't justify $70 for what I'd end up using as a primer.
@leahbsly, I felt the same, until I put it on a mixing palette and swirled it around so the pigment came out instead of wasting it trying to rub it into my skin. Two pumps is all I need to even out my complexion (very freckly, redness, blemishes, dark circles, dry skin) and it stays glowy, my skin but better, and hydrating for my dry, 50+ skin. I’m now in love with it for subtle coverage and glow. If I want more the Number 1 is excellent (I also love Lisa Eldridge and Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Tint). Anyway, hope this helps, it really is a unique, great product even if at first use it’s pretty meh. 😊
It's so interesting how people's preferences can differ. I'm trying the No1 right now and I just don't love it. On me it has kind of a wet-look it's just not as beautiful as the healthy glow or my Givenchi glow foundation. I feel like I should like it but I just don't 😢
Hi Charlotte, which Natasha Denona palette would you recommend?. I have your coloring and it’s between the nude or glam palette. I have the yucca after I saw you review that palette .😊
Great idea for a review! I’m considering the No. 1 foundation. Do you find that you need a primer with this? If so, what is your preference of primer type? Thanks so much!!
I love no 1 but BD41 is almost too light? Yellow? Im not olive, I’m warm so it should be perfect. They’ve come out with BD51 which I obviously have to swatch in store first. I also love the water fresh tint. I was shocked at how good my skin looked with almost no coverage. I have you to thank for recommending that one. BTW the travel size is different from the full size which is….odd.
The touche de teint is actually supposed to be a concealer to amp up the coverage in certain areas. I think the marketing was terrible, they only mentioned this fact on samples and it create a lot of confusion re the usage, quantity ecc
This was very helpful! Thank you! Did they change everything in the past 10 years? I’ve been chronically ill, have Chanel Lift Luminiere in Soft Bisque (It says #41, but that doesn’t make sense.) It’s been my go-to my whole life. Help!
I bought the Tenth place ranked foundation after listening to someone near my own age and thought exactly the same as you do, so annoyed.😂😂😂 I find shades difficult in Chanel I am light neutral with a hint of peach, if that makes sense and they don’t do samples here so mistakes are expensive, I have just decluttered 7 foundations all high end that are just not right. 😊 they discontinued my absolute fav 6 years ago.
Anyone know what the closest to Vitalumiere would be now? Not the Aqua. I love the Aqua but it's the discontinued original that I'm trying to find something similar to.
Its krazy how a good foundation with a bad shade match can make a foundation review different. I got the chanel glow in the mail today. My daughter said it looked yellowish on me and not good. She said it made me look older n she cld see my fine lines more pronounced then my other foundations lol so im not sure what to do. It hasnt lasted that long. Im doing 12 hr shift today. So idk
Oopsies I don't have one. But i would go with N1 . They need to leave skincare out of makeup . I have an extensive routine and it's an excuse to raise the price. .
I didn't agree with you about the water fresh complexion. In my opinion is the best foundation for a sensitive skin. I think that is more like a bb cream than a foundation, so you have to put it less on your skin to not see the imperfections. I use 2 pumps all over my face to cover everything. It's cover my coupe rose for all day long and don't make my skin born like other foundation do.
The original Ultra le teint foundation made me insane. B10 is too light and B20 is way too dark. No way am I buying 2 to mix at Chanel prices though. It is a more refined version of Doublewear but not as long lasting
@@vie4myvanity733 one pump wouldn't cover my entire face, maybe 2... or 3... I didn't count. I did try to put bare minimum it doesn't change the foundation formula. It sits crumbly on my face.🤷🏻♀️

Definitely 💯 Not Too Much…Just Perfection
My absolute favourite foundations of all time are Lisa Eldridge and Chanel Ultra Le Teint. I am a mixt skin and rather large pores on the nose

My favorite daily Chanel Foundation! It looks like my skin but better. And it lasts at least 10 hours.
Lisa Eldridge influenced me to get it years ago, and I love it too!!!
@@kirsteencampbell6489 her videos for Chanel were fantastic, it was such an event when the collections came out
