BIG editing errors in this one at around 6:00 for the clean section. The background music decided it wanted to be the main star lolol. Screw it, we're rolling with it. Or you can go to 7:42 if you want to skip getting your eardrums blown out with MASSIVE CLEANS.
Your tones are stupid awesome! The only thing that I don’t like about plugins, is the lack of “good feedback.” Otherwise they’ve come a long way. Good demo, even with the editing error. Haha! The sounds are sweet and they’re crushing! Nothing but horns! \m/
@@agufish Seriously, don't want to sound like a kiss ass, I follow the channel sporadically and check it out here and there when something of interest is demo'd or whatnot, but wow dude, likely one of my fav demo songs you have done, and honestly up there with one my fav youtuber demos. Haha listenned to it a number of times now
The synth is insanely cool but I feel completely satisfied with the sounds of the Fortin Cali, Nolly and Gojira plugins. It doesn't sound all that different to my ears. I know I will only use the synth for a few minutes then go right back to chugging so it kinda defeats the purpose. I wish Neural DSP had something where I could put all my plugins in one thing so I could mix and match all the different plugins without having a bunch of stuff in my DAW. But Neural DSP always takes my money during the Black Friday deals so I might pick it up then.
D-....did you just say you can't hear the difference between all these plugins? Dude there's a huge difference between those plugins you named you might literally wanna get your ears checked..
@@SilverMusicAndGaming Compared to the like 5 Neural DSP plugins I have. I don't think this one stands out as being all that different when it comes to the high gain stuff. Obviously there is a difference in the sound but is it that much of a difference to warrant spending an extra $140? Not for me at least. More power to you if you can easily tell the difference. I think the Fortin plugins sound the most different which is why they are my favorite.
Hahaha, love the intro! That pokémon preset is so much fun. Seems to be a bunch of weird audio hiccups where the video blasts music at places like 7:31

I've got Archetype Nolly, and I had the Petrucci firmly in my sights (mainly for the transpose feature), but this might supplant that choice. Huge fan of Rabea. Edit - Demo track was bombtastic.
If you want your amps to be tighter with low tunings then have the tubes cold biased in the power amp. It will sound much more consistent because all your distortion will come from the preamp stage.
Only played around with the presets in the free trial, but firmly believe the synth is worth the price of admission alone. The synth/fx plugins I have are so dainty when it comes to distortion, which is fine for more subtle space filling stuff, but much much more is needed for that DOOM level nonsense, so it's much appreciated to have ndsp go "nah we know what you're looking for, it's called the Cone Buster". Its very much synthesizer from the guitarist perspective and a great creative tool to have.
I spent THREE HOURS just scrolling through the presets. It was unreal. I definitely enjoyed the trial and I think the price of admission is a no-brainer.
Make fun all you guys want; I would love to see an Adam Jones rig. If nothing else, to hear Neural’s take on the chewy Diezel mid range. It’s so phat for low-tuned riffing. And his modded Marshall is low-key iconic.
As a modern funky soul type of producer who records a lot of guitar it’s cool to see the total opposite side of the spectrum and read the metal comments. At the end of the day good tone is good tone and Neural makes some good stuff!
The mix & match is definitely something I hope gets done someday, almost like a Neural DSP Kontakt library or Helix Native. I thought I'd be good after the Petrucci, but I might need to get this
Sick tones, dude. And it certainly manages the chime-y ambient stuff as well. I've finally got the rig to do these sorts of things without plugging into a computer, so I've been kind of "meh" in regards to getting amp sim plugins. Archetype: Petrucci was the first to really pique my interest, but Archetype: Rabea has me on the verge of opening my wallet even though I shouldn't really be spending money right now.
Same dude. I found them thru Tim Henson. Love his, but skipped on it cause the tone cloud with Positive grid has a bunch of remade presets for him. Petrucci, and this one sold me tho.
I'm a software engineer and a la carte modules like the ones you're proposing (individual pedals, etc.) _should_ easily be possible provided their code is well-organized and proper encapsulation principles have been followed. Odds are each unit is already housed in its own code module and would just need its own "wrapper" to function as a single plugin.
I've never even thought about getting Plug ins..Until now. I like the combination of pedals, in this one. I went and watched the Petrucci, Nolly, Abasi, and Wong videos, and they all sound unbelievable. I'm not a metal guy, but I really like them all. But, ironically, not the Wong rig.. So, once I have some time, I will be trying out the Rabea, and maybe the Nolly rigs. Wow..never thought I would be into digital stuff, but here we are. lol! Thanks!
First time watching one of your vids, you've found yourself a new subscriber. Made me laugh at multiple points and generally a brilliant demo with excellent playing 🤘🏻
This plug in is great definitely one of my favourites.... if there's any HIM fans on here this is great to get as close to Lindes sound as you can...with a bit of tweaking you can get a lot out of it 👍🏻
Will you please describe your signal path from your Mac to your monitors and any latency settings or advisement. I've aleady had the plugin for over half a year but still like to check out what others are doing with it! But only after watching this video and seeing your close up of the high gain amp I noticed that it's made up of screaming faces. I always just saw it as some kind of bumpy texture before. Cool little detail! Interesting that you mentioned the Orange sound from the high gain head. I did watch one of Rabea's videos on the plugin and from what I can recall, that amp was based on his signature Victory Kraken which is of course a British high gain tube amp so would have that hotrodded British sound. But I believe it's based on channel 2 of the Kraken, which itself is based off a 5150. So kind of a mix of both American and British influences. Personally it's my favourite high gain tone I've found in a plugin, I really like that slight dryness to it, and very agressive! I got my copy in the last black friday sale which makes it fantastic value. Every effect/stompbox is something unique that Rabea wanted, whereas some of the older NDSP plugins seem to just share generic effects, so Archtype: Rabea offers some of the best value for money in their whole range IMO. Btw, the Gretsch Baritone looks pretty bad ass played with that strap down so low. Not sure it would look so cool on me with my higher strap preference. Was laughing when hitting that Bigsby trem bar seemed to make very little difference due to the note being so low already!
What strings to you have on that Gretch. I've been interested in getting one of those Baritones and I want to be able to tune down to drop E if I get one.
Ok. This video has opened my eyes. I’m looking to get back into home recording and writing after many years away from it and things have clearly moved on. I’ll be buying a new computer and basic audio interface. I was considering going with hardware for the amp modelling/Cab sims/IRs. Something like the iridium. But i have a few questions for anyone and everyone… 1) Is Neural DSP a better way to go and why? 2) More or less expensive than the hardware option? 3) Is the plug-in supported by all DAW’s? 4) Is it possible to get this quality of sounds simply plugging straight into an audio interface from guitar or is there other hardware being used here to enhance the sound I’m hearing in this video? Thank you.
1) Neural is cool for home recording because you literally just need a computer and an interface. All the tones, effects, etc, is handled by the plugin as their plugins are entire rigs. You can customize your tones with third-party IRs, too. 2) Depends which hardware options you're looking at. There are definitely cheaper plugins, but Neural sounds the best to me, and again, super comprehensive on features. 3) I'm not sure about all DAWs, but they come in VST, VST3, AU, AAX, and that covers most of the common ones (Logic, Pro Tools, Cubase, etc) 4) Literally I'm just running guitar DI into my interface. No additional pedals, but I am using a custom IR that I've been working on. The amps, effects, etc is all part of the Archetype: Rabea plugin. Hope that helps!
