What an outstanding template. It would have been impossible without it. But with it, this was a most doable, rewarding task. But if you have big clumsy fingers as I do, here's a a suggestion that might be a help in creasing those mountain and valley folds: beginning at about 11:00 mark and then again at 12:00 mark. I found the use of simple bamboo scewer to be a tremendous aide in forming the mountain and valley fold, by simply inserting the skewer, at each step, between the mountain and valley folds.
Finally I found you. I've seen your symbol everywhere, but seeing as I'm not Japanese (I think that's Japanese, mabey Chinese?). Anyways, thanks for the video and all of the amazing templates. I've already completed 2, and they turned out amazing( no thanks to me, it's all you dude)
great, always happy to see what people make from my designs. send pictures if you want... email is at ullagami.com. which templates have you been cutting?
Depends upon the weight card you're using, I usually go with something around 150-200gsm. But you should draw the score lines quite firmly, to make a map of fold scores on your card through the template. You can feel the card through your pen, and respond with appropriate pressure. Stiffer materials will require more pressure to make a meaningful score line.
Different models have different needs. Since the models need to effectively support their own weight, some designs need more rigidity and stiffness in order to prevent any sagging. But in general, I head somewhere between 150-200 gsm, and I often use Canford paper, which gives nice crisp folds. As far as finding the templates, they are all available at etsy.com/shop/ullagami Thanks!
