Being an Anglo born down under and having lived both in the UK and France, I must say that quality of individualism you speak of I found to be in common with most of Western Europe. It is without a doubt downstream from the umbra of decades of political neoliberalism, and is likely why most of Western European culture is fading away into abstraction and following along with it the physical transformation of the people with non European foreigners, albeit with the East ironically preserved by iron curtain.

Here is the thing about Vegas . If you go for no more than three days , book two cirque du solel shows , then you will have fun . After that , you get sick of the sleeze and the cheese .

Svetlana has a twin sister on UA-cam. Her name is Liala Naema. It's amazing how similar their mannerisms, temperament, hands and hand gestures, hair(not color), facial expressions, nature are. They don't' look exactly alike but the personalities are eerily identical.

There are more places to compare…I would never say Vegas is fun….it’s just an entertainment and lose your money capital…There are over a thousand places for fun based on what you like doing…from Cayaking to rock climbing or being entertained by the Disney family in Orlando..to watching them make movies in California…baseball, football, basketball games..soccer…college sports of every type…just pick a season…car racing…sky diving…exploring 1000’s of caves…or the glacier up in Tacoma…parasailing…tour aircraft carriers or historical wooden battle ships from 1781…or museums…both natural and art…the list is endless…

Problem with Vegas is that you get a load of corporate types on conferences looking at tedious powerpoint presentations by day. Then in the evening, they change up $300 at casino and think they're a gangster when they couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag. Fun fact; The 'Strip' isn't actually incorporated into Las Vegas. Avoid downtown LV, a total dangerous dump.
??? I lived in Las Vegas for the past 25 years. Your opinion is nonsense and fallacy... and no, downtown is not a dangerous dump but simply a legacy Vegas of old. An old-town Vegas worth a visit but be aware that it's a place where most of the riff-raff gather. It is quite safe with a large police presence and under constant surveillance 24/7.
The strip is not loaded with corporate types that need to play gangsta at night with $300 at the roulette and craps tables. Where did you get that BS from? The strip is loaded with 95% tourist from around the world. The convention center traffic is low percentage that hardly populates the game floor at night. They are more inclined to retire to their rooms and sleep after sitting through a Power Point presentation. There are yahoos from all walks projecting their gangsta persona. You will rarely see a corporate type getting cocky on the game floor or becoming unruly.

There was a sociologist called Daniel Bell who in the 60s said something like workers will be monks by day and ravers by night, that's LV. In the U.S., we have lots of large bison farms in Montana. I am originally from Grayland Washington but sometimes drove through or visited Montana. It is mostly open and empty but beautiful forests and mountains in the background. The northwest United States is by far the most beautiful nature..
