Restored siding: Rolling meet between Mass Coastal and MBTA Extra - Fall River, MA 1/2025

- Last week I was able to catch a pretty cool meet between Mass Coastal MC-3 and the MBTA South Coast Qualifying Extra in Fall River, MA. The meet took place on the restored siding between Somerset (Junction) and Clark, the control points on either side of the siding. It is crazy to think this kind of operation is happening here as just a few years ago this was a 10 MPH freight only single track. This video shows the MBTA extra and Mass Coastal freight rolling through Copicut Rd. in Freetown, MA shortly before the meet. We then catch up with them as they roll by each other before I set up for a couple more runbys in Fall River, MA.

Freight horns are always so much better.
Great catches! Where in Fall River does the MBTA pass through? I couldn't find it on any map.
This should drive the cost of housing up in Fall river.
