So we've had march for a long time now, and it's impressive to see how many archetypes it enables while still being a fairly balanced spell.
It's also amazing in discard decks to turn your dead discard spells into life/removal which is a slam dunk.

Would it be unreasonable to ban all of mh3 from historic? They could retroactively make it timeless only, which feels super bad if people burned a bunch of wild cards for historic, but idk what else they could do at this point.
I feel like MH3 is a pretty perfect power level for Timeless. Shame that it wasn’t more carefully curated for Historic; I think actually fixing things there could take a prodigious number of bans.
I want to see Jim succeed.

Glad to see someone smarter than me think of Mono-B Belcher Scam too! The big flaw I found is that you are, uhh, *comically* bad against Leyline of Sanctity, which is pretty common hate against the Scam decks.
You'd think you were watching a pokemon tournament with all these energy decks

I really like historic as well because it reminded me of what modern used to be. But now, this fairly tame format has gained MH3 threats so strong that only MH3 answers can keep up, and it's turned into what modern is now, but with even less variation.
I'm more split on timeless. Grief is obviously ridiculously good, and I could see that getting hit with a restriction, but otherwise you have access to so many ridiculous cards that it doesn't feel as oppressive.
Except that Black is way over powered
11:40 WotC needs to ban the whole MH3 block from historic, otherwise it will become another MH block constructed format
So many wildcards, but honestly, instead of cherry picking bans, this would be the easiest and quckest way to fix the meta. I greatly doubt they'll ever do it, so Historic is gonna be FUBAR for the foreseeable future.
They would probably rebalance them for Historic

Ruining historic is so sad. I’m primarily a legacy player but historic is my favorite way to just get some quick games. It isn’t fun when it’s nothing but MH3 block constructed

The only card I don't like in Timeless that is currently there is Dark Ritual. Fast mana is pretty absent outside that one card.
But what would that underdog color black do without Dark Ritual
Yeah WotC absolutely murdered Historic with MH3. I can appreciate them trying it with their No Free Spells banning philosophy, but it was a HUGE mistake to release the set before a pro tour in a format that the set wasn't designed for.
WotC needs to either outright ban MH3 from Historic, ban all of the Rares and Mythics from MH3, or give every MH3 card a 1 or 2 mana tax across the board to try and slow all them down.
I'd say nerf the quantity of energy 1 less given and +1 on cost.
So say raptor would still be a 2cmv 2/1 first strike, enter +1 energy it's ability..except you pay energy equal to its cost +1 energy.
think this ones better then the original just cause of grief

I haven't played magic for very long (less than a year), but it feels like Black is just way too dominant/ubiquitous across all the formats. From enabling midrange slop in Standard to Scam in the eternal formats. I think they need to do something about how efficient black has become. Curious if other people are having this same observation.

It's a shame the Horizons sets are so hated, there are cool cards. But ridiculous shit like the pitch elementals, Ragavan, Hogaak, Nadu... it ruins everything
This seems really annoying for both players. Mirror matches have been getting rediculous in a bunch of formats lately too.
