I'm from Milwaukee and I'll never forget this cake as a kid. The peach crisp or cobbler thing was the bomb as well.
When you showed the inside of how fluffy that cake turned out after you cut it... I actually said DAMN out loud hahaha I admire you!

I live in the UK and we didnt have this cake but you recalling the memories of having this cake in school really reminded me of my favourite desserts in school too. My favourites were rainbow cake with pink custard and cornflakes and jam tart, if you were some of the last kids to eat on a friday afternoon you might be given an extra dessert! We always felt so cool if we got chosen for a second dessert 😂

Hi Carolyn you sure brought back them memories my mommsy aka mom worked in the school cafeteria and she made this coffee cake not only in school but also for our family gatherings. I never learned to make it I have been wanting to give it a try for years. You made this recipe look so easy to make I'm going to have to give it a go soon Thank you God Bless you & your channel.
Brings backs good memories when i was in el dorado and o'mevonie elementary school, they used to serve us fresh warm coffee cake with a side of sausage patty. Especially the spicy sausage piggy in a blanket hotdog for breakfast. And from olive vista middle school, they used to serve us mashed potatoes with chicken gravy, shredded chicken and cranberry jello for lunch.

I was nervous because I didn't have cake flour but it still came out fluffy like yours, I split the batter in two and added chocolate chips to the crumble on one cake. Looks awesome! I'll definitely try this recipe! Good tip on using the glass pan. For convenience sake I used an aluminum pan on a cake last week. My edges came out darker than usual.

Thank you for posting this recipe! Our school called it, "Cowboy Bread," and we begged our mother (who was a great cook) to make it for us. She was never able to find the recipe back in the 60's for "Cowboy Bread." I just learned from watching your video that it was this coffee cake. Memories ... Thank you!

Hi Auntie! I've been baking for some time now and I really wanted to try this recipe for me and my boyfriend and wow!
