It'd be stupid to go straight for top contenders in his division as he had no amateur background (except for 1 fight) and he's just hit his 10th pro fight.
He still makes the big fights and with tough opponents.
They're not entirely gimmick fights, as there is a sense of real challenge in all of them. Funnily enough, it was the 2 non gimmick, no name pros that he knocked out both in the first round and none of the others, so that should tell you about the "gimmick" fights and the challenge in those. Btw both of them were multiple golden gloves champions, had an amateur pedigree and a winning record with 10+ / 20 pro fights. Also more age appropriate for Jake. And Tommy Fury is basically a glorified gym bro. If he gets in a ring with a prime elite level boxer, he isn't lasting 30 seconds. A guy with 0 lateral movement, can't fight on his back leg properly, does not have a rhythm and only knows straights isn't going to go far. I've seen 40 year old programmers with better rhythm than Jake.
