- Here's the review of the Baltany S204041 "Explorer homage". At least that's what they call it anyway. Would you agree though?

Nice looking watch. I’d like to see 10 year battery on the caseback not the front
Yeah definitely.
It's no different to having "24 jewels " or "superlative chronometer " on the front really
And on the wrist it's pretty much not noticeable
@@deanwaller8283 it's worse imo
very nice watch... i like the date on 6 and the purple color
That’s a nice looking watch. Good to see the second hand hitting all the markers.
It is quite a looker isn't it?
Really good looking watch. Almost has a vintage skin diver vibe
Yeah it does doesn't it? It's just an interesting piece.
That’s definitely a beautiful watch. I’m not quite ready for a purple dial but the black one looks nice as well. And I’ve always thought Baltany does charge just a hair too much for their bracelets. Thanks for the great review!
Are you tempted by the black one then? Thanks.
Not quite. I know I need a quartz sometime in my collection but that red and white Pagani Moonswatch will probably be my first quartz.
@@adk7962 They are very nice.
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR I just got one,I'm actually very impressed ,that lume is MUCH better than you might think ,all night legible easily .
All in all this makes for a very nice, accurate ,robust GADA watch.
@@deanwaller8283 That's good to hear. I'm glad that you're happy with yours.
Swiss movement and a more dressy style? Nice to see Baltany branching out from their retro military models!
Indeed it is. They've already nailed that, so it's interesting to see what else they can do.
@HonestWatchReviewsHWR If they keep expanding their lines and still keep the prices low(ish) they could start hitting Cronos or even San Martin level.
@@the_once-and-future_king. I could see that.
It's like a quartz Invicta 1953 with date and no bezel. Seems a bit overpriced, but I REALLY like the black with steel bracelet!
I nearly like it.
As others say, add a decent logo, signed crown, tweak the dial by removing the 10 year info and maybe baton indices.
Then Baltany would be making a watch like Seiko did so many years ago and it would sell well IMHO.
They would all be nice changes to see in a version 2 maybe.
With a WR of 200 m, this seems to be aiming at a retro diver or field watch. Bit of a chimera to me, but really nice
It's certainly an unusual, but great looking piece.
I'd say the price is a bit steep for a quartz on Ali Express, but the dial is to die for. I skipped it this sale, but will surely pick it up sooner or later...
The same movement in a "Nite" watches is about £400
This is a steal
Great review!!Reminds me of a Bathyscaphe/Spirit cross up.Very nice looking though.Baltany makes impressive watches.👍🏻🍀
Thank you very much. I'm not sure I know that one. Yes, they really do.
A cross between the Blancpain Bathyscaphe and Longines Spirit,is what I meant
@@echochambers8418 Ah ok 🤦♂️
I rather like that, with ten year battery, tough quartz movement and 200m WR it is tough enough to do anything yet dressy enough to wear with a suit. I agree about the text, but my main issue with it is why would you fit a case back that requires a special tool to remove on a quartz watch that will need battery changes? I know it is only ten years and you may get away with a sticky ball, but it makes no sense.
It is a very nice and versatile watch. Yeah the caseback choice is an odd one. But with it being 10 years at least you won't have to worry about it very often.
I mean your OPs and other automatics use a screw down case back and require servicing within ten years. In this case if you wanted to swap the battery yourself it’s super easy, like you said a sticky tac or plastic ball, and voila the massive battery is right there, it looks easier to change out than a Casio.
One of very few good quartz Explorer homages and probably the only one with 200m WR and 10 year battery. I'm awaiting delivery of a Vaer S3 Traditional (vintage Rolex/Omega vibe!) and seriously considering one of THESE in black dial.
It is an unusual combination is it? Will you be going for the bracelet or strap option then?
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR Bracelet and get my own quick change leather & sailcloth straps. Some heavy duty spring bars and a Bond NATO would work, too.

@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR Will do. it's either the Baltany or the Vaer C3 Atlas (another GREAT Explorer homage).
@@andrewbarten7347 Thanks. That Vaer does look nice too.
Good review!
Cheers.
Baltany, again. 👍😊
Great review!
Yeah... Don't worry though, the next one isn't a Baltany. In fact it's this one.

@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR it's okay, James. It doesn't bother me 👍
This Boderry looks so good, and is very cheap. I will look at your review for sure.
*The watchcase is a very good Rolex Explorer copy.*
Apart from the inverted triangle at 12 it literally looks NOTHING like an explorer...if anything the face is lifted from the original submariner.
The ronda 715li of this watch used is swiss made or swiss parts? Ireally want to konw that
It's Swiss Made. I asked the official Baltany Store.
This one is a bit boring for my tastes. There are too many other watches at this price point that offer more bang for buck. Also, nothing against quartz movements but a Miyota 9039 would really make it more desirable for me. Baltany could also use the Miyota 9075 and make it a GMT. Nice watch for someone but just not for me.
Great review. Keep up the great work.
Cheers!
A Miyota 9000 series movement would be very nice. Thanks for watching 👍
Quartz is more accurate, far tougher, and would last just as long to be frank
Only con for me is the text above the 6 position. Remove that and I’m in for the bracelet/purple one.
That is kinda pointless. I agree.
The battery text has got to go, I want mine to say what it is, quartz. I wouldn't mind a mechaquartz movement but Seiko doesn't want to make a non chrono with a date complication so I'm find with the Ronda. The screw on case back doesn't bother me at all and as long as the lume can be seen with 4 in the morning eyes I'm good.
You didn't say anything about the 10 YEAR BATTERY! Also - why is the title card "Beautiful, but...". But what?
I mention it when talking about the movement at 3:49.
I go over the pros and cons at 6:25.
Nice dial, but... lousy screwed back case, full polished and so high priced, it's a plain NO.
Thanks for the review James, but seems chinese brands are becoming hyped a bit.
PS Don't mind the text or anything else, as long as it's priced on Casios level... 😋
The price is a little on the step side, for the bracelet at least. Thanks for watching mate.
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR My man, perhaps you could get your hands on the new 'bb36' by Terami Watches. It could be a winner.
@@gideonMorrison I'm but familiar with that one. Do you have a link to it?
So Swiss movement ,10 year battery life, superb finishing and quality ,200 meters water resistance ,plus sapphire crystal for £140 quid and you think it's too much?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's a bloody steal mate
Love baltany watches, but something about this watch I just don't like
In terms of the looks, or the specs?
I far prefer the ronda in this to a seiko VH ...and im sorry "just a quartz"????
You do know that quartz is superior to mechanical movements in literally EVERY single way imaginable right?i mean, it's not even close.
And that 10 year battery life makes virtually all automatics obsolete.
Its quartz , not good enough😂
Ew that "10 YEAR BATTERY" writing is horrible! Leave that for the user manual! They should also use a standard notched caseback that works with a standard caseback removal tool! Also the bald polished crown is about as desirable as a bald head. They should make a stylish signed crown. Other than that its' a nice piece.
That bald head bit got me 😆
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR I was probably a bit negative in my comments earlier. I tend to focus on the negatives first. It's actually a really nice piece! Baltany are one of my AliExpress favorites for sure. Them and San Martin. I love the Baltany Khaki Field blue dial.
@@thegorn They both make some really nice pieces.
