Just picked this up for £30 or $38 in a sale including delivery. Sapphire crystal, C3 lume, VH31 movement, great looks; what more do you need? Thanks for the review.

I'd buy one if it was 43mm. 39mm doesn't work on 8 inch wrists.

The accuracy of vh31 is not +/-5s a day it's more like +/- 15sec a month, if it's changing 5sec a day it's no better than any mechanical watch, no quartz is that bad.

Looks like a homage to the Zenith montre d'aéronef type 20. Just bought one on Ali for £31. 👌 great review thanks

Good review. That is an interesting point about the crown rotation, I have a couple of vh31 powered watches and I haven't noticed it, but they both have much, much smaller crowns. I wonder if the large crown makes it more obvious, also lower gearing could make it easier to accurately position the minute hand. It is a lovely looking dial and I really like the way Steeldive have this alternate branding for pilot's watches. I wish they would rebrand their Murph homage as a Steelflier.

The watch is "homage" to 1940's pilot watch, the big crown was necessary for allow manipulate the clock (winding, set...) with gloves.

Just FYI- this is June 27 and this watch is on sale for $40-- with leather strap. Not sure if the price changes for the other straps.

Wes I love this watch! I purchased it from Ali Express some two months ago and it's become one of my favourites on wrist. I did replace the strap with a slightly darker brown Italian leather strap but I have reused the supplied cowhide strap on another watch. I agree completely with your review, this is a quality watch. That onion crown feels great to turn, buttery smooth. Grab and go is its best feature.

Merci monsieur Wes for another great review. I didn't get the "360 degree rotation but the minute hand only moves 40 minutes...". What does that mean ? It is not a matter of language. I just tried to figure out what it meant exactly but I failed. That being said keep up your good work, Wes. By the way I bought last 11.11 my first AliExpress watch. It's is called Gustav Becker and it is made by Sugess. 42 mm but the C3 lume is like a torch. You get a lot of bang for your bucks.

Je vous en prie Monsieur! (I hope I spelt that right) what I meant is that the rotation of thr crown does not move the minute hand as much as you'd expect... wrt GB ☝️I have one in my wishlist but it's going for $99.. I'll wait for the price to go down a little

@@weswatches You spelled it right. Bravo ! I now understand what you meant with the rotation thing. For the GB watch, this is a hell of a good watch. They wrote on the dial at 6 o'clock 21 jewels but it is a NH35 so 24 jewels. It's just funny. They might correct it for the next batch. You're right about the price and wait for the sales. I recently bought a Tactical Frog FXD with blue dial, blue bezel and a date at 6 o'clock. It is a Tudor Pelagos FXD Marine Nationale homage. This watch is a torch at night. Another great value. I wished I would I've been able to show that watch to one of my former patient. He passed away about 7 years ago. I'm a humble rn. I'm doing home cares. My patient was a former member of the Marine Nationale's commando Hubert. He was French from France and married a French Canadian lady. The hand of my patient was one and a half mine. You didn't want to mess with him. He was a gentlemen. RIP Paul.
