- I know plenty of you have been asking for a courier app video, here it is!
I run a couple more apps that I didn’t get calls for on this day otherwise they would’ve made the video, but managed to snag a good amount so hopefully this video you find mildly entertaining.

I always thought that Solo might be the perfect food delivery vehicle.
In the city centers here we have an increasing number of food delivering cyclists (with a styrofoam box strapped to their back) which have an unbeatable price for the distance they make, and are quickes too, but outside the centers the bicycle is not a feasable option.
In any case, not an easy job I guess. Thanks for having taken us for this virtual delivery ride!
I’ve often thought about buying a foldable electric bike or scooter and doing some of those cyclist Doordash/UE runs and then jumping into the solo if need be for a further call..would keep me busy that’s for sure haha

I think this is your best video so far. True-to-life with good data (like Instacart). I keep thinking about doing food deliveries locally, and you have given me a good picture of how that would work. Great that you did all that and still have a lot of the morning left!

Your channel as a whole is invaluable. What you've been uploading is a rarity in this day and age: Real, unfiltered and unbiased user experiences with a very new product that has little to no information about it available anywhere else. I've never heard of this car until I ran into your channel. Now, I'm planning to fly over to Arizona and go test drive one of these sometime in the future. Most of the questions I had about the car have been answered thanks to your videos.
Hopefully the car doesn't end up disappointing you in the end and continues to provide rather interesting adventures for viewers like me to enjoy watching in the future.

Thanks for following up and making this content. I think there's even more potential for this in high-density areas with limited parking. Insurance must be very cheap, also. I'm honestly surprised more restaurant chains haven't purchased these for small delivery fleets and wrapped the cars with their branding/logos...or even Door Dash or Uber Eats having some actual full-time employees driving these. Anyways keep up the good work, loving the vids.
Would definitely be neat to see something come to fruition between EM and these delivery services
Insurance is affordable but could definitely be cheaper, maybe as the solo becomes less of an anomaly and more common amongst drivers then those premiums will come down a bit though..
Took me three days to find an insurance company that would actually insure the solo finally settling on progressive lol

dude you have to pitch your services to a liquor store or smoke shop. impressive ambition, my best delivery gigs were working for the restaurant directly; you can get fed most of the time but mop up and clean. anyway, way to hustle man, keep it up!

It’s difficult to tell from the videos if the glass in your Solo is tinted and to what degree. A reasonable shade of quality tinting may make a significant contribution to lowering cabin temperature. Unloading the AC to some degree could positively impact your mileage. Just a thought considering you are in the SW. Cheers 🍻

Fantastic on-the-street market research! Could this be the role the Solo was "born to play"? Would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the difference between the Solo & the average ICE delivery vehicle in this role (something like a Toyota Corolla?) regarding costs per hour & per mile, time to park & deliver, reliability & operation limitations, refueling issues, & an overall summary.
Dual use as both personal transportation and part-time delivery could be a particularly efficient sweet spot, if the Solo can satisfy each role well enough. Good work, thanks & regards! o/
Well when comparing it to my last 2016 Ford fiesta the first thing I feel is mention worthy is the fuel saved however there definitely is major benefit to being able to fill up the gas tank immediately if you anticipate having to use more than 100 miles to complete your day of deliveries.
Lots more I could spout off about but you’re right that may be a good question for a Q&A video in the future!

Having spent a month delivering newspapers in my 1966 Cadillac, and losing a few bucks in the process of working 7 days a week, I can assure you that you have a much better vehicle for that type of work.

Yes I do, the charger goes right into the wall 110 outlet.
Takes like ~ 10 1/2 hours for 0-100% I just plug up when I get home/overnight usually only let it charge to around ~80-85% though for longevity on the battery

@@sunsetlights100 between the 5 apps running and the shooting of a video the phone was already hot not to mention the sun shining through the car onto the phone is unavoidable so unless I take breaks to hold the phone in front of the vent it overheats. Just Arizona stuff lol
i've been delivery driving in a nissan leaf for over 2 years now, short range EV's are the best vehicle to do this kinda stuff in!

BTW did you get a recall letter from MECCA? I set an appt for 8/8 so they could inspect the lights. Im also doing a 1,000 mile maintenance. I love the car so far I get so much attention where I live it's crazy I almost feel like what famous people feel like when they get their pictures taken of or get asked questions lol .. it happens everytime I go out
P.S. I Highly recommend you get tint on all your windows! It will reduce the heat in your cabin and help your eyes from the bright sun! I got 3M tint! It's worth it! It makes the Solo look cooler!
I did get the recall for the blinker concern they got that completed with my last maintenance I just had done.(think it was a quick software update)

Hey man started watching your videos and I’m so tempted to buy a solo. Overall would you recommend it? I’m in az too and I can’t find any cars in a practical price range. Everything is 25k or higher. I’m only 20 so my budget is tight. I spend 3k annually in gas so ev is very tempting. I’ve invested in solo since the start and I’m really hoping in the near future I can head out to fashion square and test drive one myself.
I would recommend one of course but I’m biased!

@@awwki it's amazing how much you can actually fit in it. It has a second row of seats and with it down its plenty of space. I also do caterings so I don't have a problem fitting catering bags in there. It's fast and easy to park. The small size allows me to zip through traffic if I need to. I call it the yellow light smasher
Interesting video. Yeah, many people on YT say this EV is good for delivery-type gigs... Also, your dash shows battery % remaining, but it doesn't show "estimated range," like other EVs?
No the estimated range gauge would be a bit redundant as the expected range is 1% to 1 mile for 100 miles to the charge.
But then what happens when your battery eventually slowly degrades, so then 1% would mean, say, 0.8 mile.. etc... I guess you'll have to figure out your range accordingly then...
Even though Electrica Meccanica promotes the Solo as a delivery vehicle. I never considered using is for door dash or Uber eats. Was this a typical day for you when running these deliveries? If so, you could earn a decent income using the Solo this way.

Can you do a video showing how much percentage you lose on a 5-10 mile drive? Maybe have half highway and half city street. Just curious how much you lose. I just watched a video of a guy who had 80% and drove 1.3 miles and lost 2% charge. Based on that number that seems closer to 50 miles range and not the 100 miles they state.
Yeah I’ve been planning on doing one, I’ve been noticing about 80 miles freeway to the charge and still 100 miles on city so we’ll see

I would say GrubHub is the least popular app at least in my area. Uber eats just seems to give out the lowest offers but some days it’s the only app that wants to feed me
