I never heard of this SOLO car. I heard about Velorex. About SOLO, it looks absolutely fantastic. What I don't understand is the mentality of people always going for a bigger car. Bigger car for a family, yes. But for people like me, single, no family, no ''luggage'' sort of speak, it's a perfect car. I'm not saying that bigger cars don't look good, it's just my point of view, why having such a car that consumes so much of everything? To look grandiose? To look rich? To look alpha? Mostly people live for around 60-80 years. In that period you switch a few cars. I'm 37, no car at the moment(vertigo), before that I had multiple cars and today I ask myself why, for what reason do I need a gigantic car. So what is the point of my comment, we need to change our mentality. We live in a period of absolute abundance, no natural enemies, top of the food chain. We are forgeting how brittle we are. We just take and grab everything, no matter the consequences. We are developing at a ultra fast pace, so fast that we do not see what we are doing to our only environment, Earth. We need to slow down, not to stop, but to slow down. We are like junky on cocaine going insane. I've heard many times people saying fuck it you only live once. Get the best out of it for yourself. I don't care for others. You literally can't get any more selfish by doing that. And by giving chances to these kind of people, we are losing ourselves. Thank you for the video. Great cars!

Check out the Tesla concept for their Robotaxi car. It looks a lot like the SOLO. Not a 3 wheeler but the rear wheels are inset some to reduce drag and it is a 2 seater with side by side seating. SOLO had the right idea just not all the Tesla stuff like power, range, charging network, and self-driving technology.

Yikes, so between 15 and 80% charge you're looking at around 60 miles range without heating/aircon, probably 40 miles real world.

This vehicle was never "enough". The Elio Motors platform as an EV would have been much more appealing. Given a top speed of 120mph and range of 310miles, NACS with Tesla SuperCharger access, and a tandem 2 seater. A/C and heater is totally a requirement! Made in mainland China?! No wonder ElectraMeccanica failed...Quality Control, Seven Sigma, caring about product success.

I've been hyper mile conscious with my Bolt. I bought my bolt 2 amd a half weeks ago and i am still trying to get a level 2 charger at home. My outlets are not grounded so i can't level 1 charge at home (as little good as it would do anyways). There is one free level 2 charger in my area at a hotel that i have been visiting frequently and one busted level 3 charger in the town over from me so I'm white knuckling my way through it!

I like the concept of Elio (too bad it was a sham) Aptera (if they ever get there) and more super efficiency based vehicles like the Edison2 VLC and Lightyear. But i need a family vehicle and so i drive a Chevy Bolt EV. It has range and can seat my family of 5.

This was a great car factory would not fix the short that shut down the motor while driving it did not happen to all of them . never had a problem with mine had to let them take it back if I could have been able to buy parts I would have kept .shield

I'm glad to see you having fun with family! But being electrified vehicle I rather be in a vehicle that I can peddle which is even more efficient. Still would be able to everything with the family,work and traveling bye peddling although different type of AC I could electrified the vehicle one thing is you can take all bike path as well. Anyway glad to see that your having fun and likeing it. I would put that $$ on a velomobile and it's features verses an electric automobile. Anyway have fun with electronic automobile! Sincerely! Hopefully you can do a video o the Bolt buying process. I hate car dealers and their dishonest practices. I live in AZ too, so maybe if you have a good experience it will motivate me to get a Bolt. Cross shopping the VW ID4 and the new Volvo EX30. Concerned that this is the last year for the current Bolt.

So did you get your money back and return this because of the recall? Are they selling them again?

I put in a deposit about a year ago for the Solo EV and a month later changed my mind. The sales person proceeded to ghost me at that point. After finally getting a hold of someone in Arizona I was finally able to get my deposit back. Glad I decided to back out because the buyback just proves my decision was right.
