Dunny is a true Rovers Legend, even when he was half dead he dominated the pitch. Dunny+Tugay were a dream to watch. Probably my all time favourite Rover, beyond even Garner, Shearer, Hendry, Tugay and the rest. Dougie and Clayton were before my time mind. The early and mid 00’s teams with Dunny, Tugay, Flitcroft, Jansen, Cole, Duff, Savage, Nelson, Samba, Friedel, Emerson, Pederson and even up to the David Bentley era were as exciting if not more exciting than the mid 90’s Shearer-era. If only Dunny and Duff were a couple of years older, they’d have been first team regulars and we would not have gone down in 1999.
Was there the night dunny made his debut for rovers and met him in person at tony parkes evening at ewood along with higgy...both top lads and even better players. Respect to all rovers past and present ..RTID❤
At blues his injurys were a nightmare, but you could see his ability when he was fit, had so much ability on the ball was good to watch live. Injuries just effected him it happens :( KRO
Love this programme jon parkin we used to give him some stick at swansea at the old vetch field when he played for Macclesfield Town but he is a good laugh jon by the looks of it proper pub guy pint and a curry bloke lol
Born in 1993 and a Birmingham fan. Dunny was a childhood hero of mine. He was amazing. It’s a shame that he had so many injuries. Him and savage could have formed an amazing partnership
They did, at Blackburn haha. To be fair both were just a part of a very talented squad at Blackburn but having that kind of quality is what ultimately got us in Europe a good few times.
Love Dunnie but as a Bham fan not the greatest hearing what a mistake we was haha but hey ho maybe that worked both ways ey 🤷♂️. Good luck for the future some great stories in there 👍
How the Fuck can Oldham fans come on here and slate the bloke when he’s literally just described those working conditions and what he tried to do to help the club. He’s a top man and forever a Rovers Legend.
The Hatton/Mayweather fight was december 2007 but diouf joined rover december 2009 so im not sure about that one. good story though seems a good bloke and these podcasts r top.
There was a ridiculous amount of talent in the England u21s side, Ferdinand, Carrick, Cole, Gerrard, Lampard and Dunn was the captain of that side. The two most naturally gifted English footballers in that No8 position since Gazza both really had unfulfilled careers, Dunn and Joe Cole, we have never really understood how to get the best out of those types of player... the injuries didn't help either of them too.

Not sure how he can support the owners. Venky's took Rovers from an established, well-run PL club punching above its weight, all the way down to League One, and now they're stagnating in The Championship. Dunny never was the brightest spark.

Great stuff
One of the most underrated English players of his generation. Injuries halted his progress
Yeah I agree. Ronaldinho is on record saying he learnt a lot of his skills from David, especially his rabona.
Him and duff were good at Blackburn
Defo! I remember when Wednesday used to play against him. He’s one of them who worries you when his names on the team sheet. Proper baller.
What a player he was in the early 00's

Good this one lads
Great craic out of David
Was always jealous of dunny back in the day, he went out with a bird Jackie Degg. I had a right crush on her

Could tell he was a proper player. But injury did him. Really is a shame we didn't see him for long period.
This fella compared to Danny Mills.....its night and day!
this is class but Hatton maywether 2007 diouf wernt at rovers then bit confused 😆
How he was able to say so much and be so vivid yet not realise he has the years mixed up😅
