Minister McConalogue visits the Horn of Africa

Minister Charlie McConalogue toured Kenya, Ethiopia and South Sudan to see the work being done by the World Food Programme. He announced that Ireland will increase it's funding of the WFP by 40%. A total of €105m will be allocated over the next three year of our Strategic Partnership Agreement. This will support the invaluable humanitarian work being carried out. Food insecurity is a huge issue that is being addressed through infrastructural investment, education, training in new farming methods and the provision of food supports.
