Windows update also killed a laptop (an AMD Asus zephyrus g15) of mine. For some reason, during a long time, my laptop keep waking up randomly when in sleep mode. One day It woke up during night, and a Windows update was pending. That Windows update included a BIOS update from Asus. Because the screen wss closed, the laptop overheated, and during the BIOS update It failed and died. Fortunately warranty service "repaired" It, during 3 years, the laptop has been randomly giving blue screens on Windows (and also freezings in Linux). Recently a new BIOS update came out and seemed to solve everything, but I had a big useless 1500€ Stone during 4 years. Now I don't want to use Asus again 😂

Why you blaming ASUS when Windows pushed the update?

@@kevincooper3850 yes you are right its an windows update problem

@@protechcomputersindia but Asus should not allow Windows to push BIOS updates, It should be a user decission to update the BIOS in a controlled environment as these are risky updates. Also, power management on this series of laptops is poorly implemented on the firmware side (Asus assembler, not Windows fault).

@@kevincooper3850 however... I clearly stated at the beginning of the comment that this was Windows Update fault so... Maybe better reading...
