Thanks so much for the review Jonathan!
Red Paw Packs What is the capacity / volume of this fanny pack? I looked on your website at the Neon Yellow xpack but it did not state the volumn. Thanks Blue Boy Ultralight.
@@BlueBoyBackpacking The dimensions are 8" x 3" x 5", so the dimensions equate to just under 2 liters. Not including the stretchy top pocket, which is pretty large. Thanks!
@@RedPawPacks Thank you Red Paw Packs
Nice overview! From what I've seen Red Paw does great stuff. Nice system you've worked out to incorporate the fanny into your hiking style
Thanks Sean!
How you diggin the fanny pack on your at hike nowadays?? Thanks for your vids man, I like them a lot, especially the joey description.
Does it bother you that the zip is on the front and not on top? How do you use the top mesh? I don’t see carrying a 12 or 16oz water bottle during a thru-hike. I see you fit the umbrella in there. any other advantage over a mesh pocket in front?
Thanks
jwstrauc AT hike was 2018, but I’m starting the PCT going Sobo in July so keep an eye out for that ;). The front zip has been great, no issues. The top pocket fits a 24oz bottle in it, so for those that don’t have shoulder strap pockets, it’d be a good option for access to water regularly. I use the top pocket for a multitude of things; water filter, bandanna, Mio, headnet, phone, camera, glasses, basically anything I’m not ready to really put ‘away’. I use it to hold a water bottle when I’m doing dayhikes, as I only carry the fanny pack with me on most hikes in fair weather within 10 miles or so. I feel like for small things like chapstick, sunscreen etc, a front pocket might be a better option, where the top pocket is good for bulkier options. If you contact Matt, he’ll make pretty much whatever you’d like!
Jonathan the Hiker hey thanks dude, jesus.. didn’t even notice the time of those vids, lmao...
jwstrauc haha it’s all good. I actually have a video explaining what happened. I had the intention of editing on trail but it didn’t work out well. Glad you enjoy the videos! Share with friends if you can, I don’t make a penny until I get 1k subs and I’ve been stuck at 800 for 2 months lmao
What brand of pullover hoodie are you wearing in this video? I dig it!
Damn you, I just bought the Hyperlight before seeing this. Now I want this one. I dig the top water bottle pouch and the 1" webbing clips on this one. Hmmm.
nice! Tanks for sharing ! :D Are you doing the PCT this year? And what did you end up with carrying in the AT?
Mattias Hansen yup I’m planning a Sobo thru hike this year starting around early July. If you check my uploads, I made a gear video for the AT last year!
Nice I mite have to buy one now they seem really convenient thnx for sharing !! Also ya plan on doing the cdt n get that 3 👑
Yup, just trying to decide when. I want to do CDT and GDT in one go, however this doesn’t look like the year
Thanks for sharing! Do you know if they make one without the water bottle holder?
That Hiker Girl I’m sure he’ll make one for you! He does custom stuff too, hit em up on instagram! Let him know you hiked with me!
Man, that's brilliant to thread the fanny pack on the backpack straps.
Do you use the Red Paw backpack as well?
Naseem Rakha yeah I have a Flat Iron pack from Red Paw, planning on doing a review of it after getting some serious miles on it
Water bottle in horizontal orientation? Good for one drink...if you twist that cap, and take a drink, it had better be the entire bottle. If not it will leak like a sieve....the only ones I am comfortable with maybe would be a smart water bottle, definitely not the example you used in the video
You’re right! I don’t use those bottles! I use the life water or smart water bottles with the flip top, good eye!
@@MeowHikes whew...I’ve made that mistake it’s those cheap bottles from Purelife, and similar companies....what a mess!!...I love the other companies you mentioned, or at least the plastic and more importantly the caps😂 Although, I prefer the Nestles water over all of them for taste...
cool
I'll take two💸Very good design. Make sure your electronics are "Off" when carrying then Close to your🤔🥒Junk. Dogs Agree. Very Inventive.
hmm
Scott Kilcoyne 😂
