Thanks for the shoutout, Glen!! Your friendship and support mean the world to me and I wouldn’t have a channel if not for you. Great video and can’t wait for this year!
So happy I played a part in your favorite video of 2023 haha. That would be quite the dinner party, wow! All great channel shout outs too. Bobby and the Hollies, can't go wrong! Looking forward to 2024 with you my friend.
Thanks for the Sun on the channel Glen I really appreciate it. It was nice to meet you on the chat tonight, you seem like a very knowledgeable, and personable man, what more can ya ask for :-) love to join you guys in a future show if you even need another. k now to watch your tag…. Agreed on the tag very glad I was made aware of it. Always been a fan of Ian Hunter! I enjoy Jack and the Stripes plus he is a huge advocate for vinyl! Just listened to that Hollies about a month ago. I think I’ve watched 20 2024 tags so far and the general consensus is “I don’t have any/many 7”” also mentioned often is I have a box of 7” somewhere. lol Drum Battle party I love it! Man watching all Of these makes you realize how shitty of a year it was with people passing. I voted country with my heart :-) Alex is a good kid! And as we Know Robs now at 1k Watched Marcia P as well she seems Like a very nice lady! Great night finding the Beatles! So far I have had every record everyone has, I have not had any of those no one does Good Album cover choice. Such a fantastic CCR album! Great stuff sir! Thanks for the video. I look forward to discovering old and looking forward to new content.
Hi Glen!! Nice to see answering Rob's vinyl tag.... a killer group of questions, some are very clever, other kind of tough..... it's fun to see how video you had no expectation are the most visualized..... cheers and be well
Nice job and very easy to listen to. No unnecessary gimmicks with video editing, just genuine enthusiasm. I will have to check that Anoushka Shankar album out. I have her live at Carnegie Hall album from 2001 and that’s excellent.
So great Glen. I’ll get mine up today. Appreciate the shout out. I will have to change a few answers since there are so many duplicates ha! Great taste 😉
Great answers! That sounds like an incredible dinner that would probably end with either the police or ambulance. Certainly some kind of vehicle with sirens! I still remember the day I got "Abbey Road", too.
Great video as always Glen! I've been watching your channel for a while now and I decided to make my first video yesterday and it was a Vinyl Tag. I gave you a shout out because I love your recommendations and honesty. Keep up the great work!
I've been working my way through all of these vinyl tags and finally I got here Glen! I love Mott, but I really need to investigate Ian Hunters solo stuff. The decades question and the country is very difficult. Every decade and every country has so much variety and interesting stuff going on! You said it with the soul & funk "doesn't get better" than Sly & Funkadelic. I would've love to have walked into Massey Hall when NY payed that gig. Damn that's a great record. Cheers...Ben PS I don't have Rumours
Happy New Year from Tokyo! Got turned on to your channel by Marcia P! Im a big Zappa head too so love your favorite score of the year! Big Jack White fan too! And Anouska! Loved both those alums Also we have Morgan Fisher in our circle of friends in Tokyo, the old keys on Mott the Hoople. Come to Japan and say hello! Looking forward to following your channel.
The "what decade" and "what country" questions are really difficult! I'd have despair over giving up Dylan, The Band and Ry Cooder, but I think I'd have to take England too. And I'd take the 60s. It's nice to see the Ry Cooder single that Erwin sent you. I've been watching his videos in German - you can turn subtitles on (when they're available) and auto-translate them into English. Happy new year!
Hi Glen. They let me out on my own recognizance. Great vinyl tag. I've been working on Ian Hunter's catalog as well. Fine Jack White picks. Bob Dylan would be my pick as well as he was indeed listened to a lot. I hope that you survive your party and I hope it's not in your basement as there would need to be a lot of reconstruction. Sly & The Family Stone are a great choice. I have an Elvis Costello album with the Metropole Orchestra but not Anoushka Shankar. I have that 90's classic. Cheers.
Love the way you promote other podcasters. That's my first New Year's resolution - to listen to other podcasters you recommend. Talking of The Hollies, have you ever heard KD Laing's 'The Air that you Breathe'? Spectacular version, especially the non guitar solo at the break. She does amazing interpretations of other people's music. OK, the big New Year's resolution: everybody I admire the most loves Bob Dylan, even the people you would never think would. 2024 has to be the year of Bob Dylan. It will take about a year to work through his entire archive, but that's the way it's going to have to be (but I'm skipping 'Modern Times'). I hope Bob, and all of us, make it to 2025.
Tim..thank you..lots of great people doing these types of videos..a Bobfest in 2024I love it..but, I love Modern Times…will be interested in hearing about your journey along the way..Sam St. John are going to be doing a Dylan theme video coming up soon..I think favourite song from every album..stay tuned..
Great submission Glen! Cosmos Factory is certainly a greatest hits type album. I should have thought of that one. Great Jack White albums. Seeing Neil at Massey Hall for that show would certainly be amazing. I really enjoy the livestream Glen and you guys are all great on there. Cheers and Happy New Year!
Great answers Glen, happy New Year! That Sam St John in the Hair Salon song is still stuck in my head!😂😂 I love that Lowest of the Low record, thanks for turning me onto it. I think it’s excellent, it’s disappointing that Steve & Marcia weren’t a fan of it.
That 7" you won from Alex (I Collect Stuff) was almost certainly dug by the legendary Mack Stevens from I Buy Old Records, who used to make epic videos about crate digging for 45s in Texas. I have that rekkid, but I don't have that other rekkid.
Glen, I always love to watch on BBC, Jools’ Annual Hootenanny, it’s been going for 31 years. Was particularly good this year, with Rod Stewart, PP Arnold, Joss Stone, Paul Jones, Olivia Dean, Ruby Turner and more, plus the greatest Irish folk band, at the moment, The Mary Wallopers, they’ve just released an album ‘Irish Rock N Roll’ fun stuff. Oh plus a new Irish folk/Blues female singer Muireann Bradley who almost stole the show with Candyman, she also has just released an album ‘I Kept These Old Blues’. You can see her on You Tube. No better entertainment, for a New Years Eve party imo 🎉😊
I always thought The Hollies harmonies were even better than the Fab 4. They just did not write as many great songs. Bus Stop written by Graham Gouldman is the one I think is perfect. I think Graham Nash left because he could not stomach singing pop songs like Carrie Ann, On A Carousel and Jennifer Eccles for years to come.
Thanks for the shoutout, Glen!! Your friendship and support mean the world to me and I wouldn’t have a channel if not for you. Great video and can’t wait for this year!
Thank you so much Alex..The feeling is mutual..you are one amazing dude.❤❤❤
Thanks for the kind words Glen. Meeting you and your family was a highlight of 2023. Cheers to 2024!
It is been very cool..See you in a few weeks👍

Happy New Year Glen, Lynn and Peyton! I always love that Abbey Road story. 😀👍❤️ That Sam St. John song is a classic! 😀
Happy New Year to my best bud ever❤❤❤❤
Nice job on the tag. That dinner party would be out of control. Wow.

That party is guaranteed carnage. 😂 And it'll probably still be going on this time next year.
Yes..I may need some help if you are available..

Hey Glen. Great responses, you came out of the chute really fast. Just posted mine. Glad you picked up on Ian Hunter. Cheers.
You are the only person that I’ve seen pick the 60’s other than myself. That would be a wild party.
They are all disco fans..

Thanks for the shoutout Glen. Fyi, we met first in Oct 22 and did our first chat in Nov 22. Nonetheless, I value your friendship immeasurably.

That Abbey Road record (well the cover) looks to be in great condition for being 55 years old.
Andy Partridge and Ronnie Lane, Otis and Aretha.
Can you imagine if Aretha and Otis had got it on. The musical child they would have produced.
Ray Davies..great party guest..I think..depending on the mood..
Quadrophenia came out in 1973. And there was a huge box set of that album that came out some years ago. Ha
Great answers Glen, happy New Year! That Sam St John in the Hair Salon song is still stuck in my head!😂😂
I love that Lowest of the Low record, thanks for turning me onto it. I think it’s excellent, it’s disappointing that Steve & Marcia weren’t a fan of it.

Jeff Beck truth expanded cd is the one i recommend ..you love dylan you must own The Hollies sing dylsn all songs written by Bob

@@GlenKellawayfromthebasementGreat Glen, she has her own You Tube channel, she plays Police Dog Blues, when she was only 13 years old, amazing 😊
I had no idea if I had any records with bands from Manchester but as coincidence would have it, I have the same Hollies’record😊
That works..if you googled it, there are lots..
Quadrophenia box set came out a few years ago Glen. 2015
I missed that..need to investigate..that would have been a 40th anniversary reissue..let’s have a 50th!!!
Hey Glen Quadrophenia came out in 1973.
You are the first one to notice my mistake..congrats..Never assume Jack..lol
Partying with Keith Moon? You know what Joe Walsh said about his experience of partying with Keith: they stayed up for a couple of month that night.
lol..Joe in his prime party days would be crazy too..
