São Paulo state has indeed some amazing beaches, specially in the north and the beaches keep being beautiful in the south of the state of Rio de Janeiro, you should check that out as well, like the city of Paraty

BS. It is not overly dangerous as many make it sound. Here in the US I've seen way worse violence cases all around. Don't believe everything people say. We definitely have dangerous areas just like most countries.
Including the neighboring municipalities( there is no fiscal separation, one side of the street is SP the other is a diferente municipality. It was done to help administrativo. The total real population is 22 million
"come with an empty stomach......" lol not sure that would be possible after you've listed a bunch of amazing foods to try, I think before I leave the hotel I would have eaten more than a days worth already
