Our Dually vs. Optimus + Vision X Light Cannon video has been wanting to be made for quite a long time and we finally got it out here on UA-cam. We are going head to head with Rigid Industries very popular "Dually" LED off road light and comparing it against the Vision X's "Optimus" series. We will be using our new test field to demonstrate the type of beam pattern and intensity of each Light. Stay tuned and you can see the brand new (as of 2013) Vision X Light Cannon! That thing is an amazing LED Light!
For anymore questions about these awesome lights leave a comment or message us here on UA-cam and we will get back to you!

Thanks for taking the time to record, edit and narrate this video. It is great to see a comparison video and you layed the facts out great. I have owned rigid Duallys and I currently own a set of VisionX light cannons. Honestly, for those watching, you will happy with either one.
Both companies have new products coming out every year. I would love to see an updated comparison. Maybe Visionx new 40watt 4.5" light cannot versus dually XL hyperspot? Throw in there a Baja Designs product too. :)
I have had vision x, Rigid, all brands of hids and such,... but you chose to show this comparison using Rigid duallys and not d2's kinda makes this video stupid,.... you used rigids low grade light and visionxs high grade light.. come on
thank you
I just installed these on my 2008 Road glide. I had already installed LED headlights, but these easily reach 2 or 3, maybe 4 times farther. THEY ARE AWESOME. This video was the best information I could find...THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
+Paul Stephens Awesome, thank you! So glad you liked them!
On trucks here in AK the rigid lights weather spots or pods and worst of all their bars get water in them after one summer on the hual road. Surprisingly the continue to function but often have a few lights (pods and bars) go out and the moister in the bar will freeze to the inside of the lens.
I have never seen this issue with vision X. And have a 30 dual stack bar on my pickup and 4 6.7 cannons on my semi and two ditch light pods.
VisionX Cannon - I am very impressed with this light on my Jeep Unlimited. Worth every penny!
Have a pair of Rigid lights for 10 years, still working great. Once, though went out, but I rewired them, I guess the heat under the hood cooked the wires., and it works.
That's great! Those Rigid lights really do seem to last quite some time!
Kinda feels like a paid advert for vision x, not by the comparison, but by your word choice when talking about them.

Thank you for the video.
How do these Vision X lights stack up against the Rigid Dually Hyperspot pods?
How much would their euro beam filter cut down on the range of the light cannon? I want to run a pair of them as driving lights for deserted rural roads at 4 am and I need a lot of range for deer in the road when driving 65 mph but also a lot of spread to see deer running towards the road. Do you think the cannons are a good fit for that? I definitely want LEDs so they can be flipped on and off as traffic may come at me. If I knew I could leave them on without care I would go HID.
I would like to see the test between the D2 Driving and one of or all Vision X lights in this test.
I would like to see a real word test of the best Rigid 50 inch bar against your best of the best Vision X 50 inches ?
I have 2 LED lights on my Harley 1200 Sportster but i dont need "AIR CRAFT" lights! the 2 i have are ebay 9" 54watts each by "Osram" They put out some serious light for my likings I have to agree that you do a GREAT job and i am impressed with your videos,I have a 2001 Crown Vic Ex State Trooper and want to put some spots on top of it only because i live with insomnia and enjoy being out at night
Is the D2 much better than the Dually we tested?
Should have used Rigid D2 dually, it's the updated version. Not really a fair comparison.
Thanks for your input! This is a pretty old video and at the time the D2 was either not out yet, or brand new and we had already filmed. Next time we'll review the latest and greatest. For now this one just shows these lights.
Headlight Revolution just fyi, there's videos out there of rigid dually d2s from 2 yrs ago
Yep...but this vid is 3-1/2 years old...
and my comment is 1 year old lol
Would be cool to compare these to some Baja Designs lights?
$600cdn for a couple pods. thats crazy overpriced for what you get.
Maybe do a comparison with the d2 and see how you go :)
I'm staying with Rigid Industries led lights
I don't see a thing from VisionX that would make me want to switch from my RI D2's.
How come no one ever compares Baja Designs Lights to Rigid or Vision X? Now that is something I would pay to see!
I have the D2 spots on my truck and while the light has a far reach they aren't great because the the beam is way to narrow so you still can't see shit unless the beam hits it. I would say try something g else or get multiple sets of the spot
Hands down, Rigid Industries make the best Off Road Lights...
From what we've tested, they are not the brightest lights available.
Thanks for the comment.
Headlight Revolution . You do realize that being the best is more than just being the brightest..... Right? My comment still Rings true.
We are just going to have to agree to disagree on this point.
Thanks for your comments!
But what I don't understand is why you didn't compare the Rigid D2 hyperspot against these vision x spot lights?!?!? I'm pretty sure the Rigid D2 hyperspot would beat the Vision X in any test...
I have a question? where is the light directly in front of the truck coming from when showing the Vision x lights.
What's the timestamp of the part you're referring to?
What do they mean when they call someone a shill?
I think the comparison in the two brands are apples to oranges. The Rigid should have only been compared to the single small vision X LED. The other two Vision X lights are in another category. I just installed the Rigid Unit in the video on my truck and the light output is killer! The cable on the bottom should not be a deal breaker I don't think it makes a bit of difference if the wire comes out the back or the bottom.
if they are comparing spotlights they should compare it to the rigid daully d2 hyper spot. it would destroy the vision x 20 watt double
It would have been a better comparison to use the Rigid D2"s. Much more powerful than the Duallys.
My bad, it was an ad that was not CC
No problem!
for me I think the idea of lights like these are max power in a small package. so the Chinese argument is lame. but the dually vs 4.5 is also kinda lame. I'm sure rigid make a power house as well in these sizes. a couple players from that side would have been good.
that being said, thanks a ton for taking the time to make this video. I'm ordering the 4.5 xp soon. now with 40 wafts a piece!!
thanks
Dually wins vs Options, then the Optimus Dual should be compared to a D2 because they are more in line with price, although the D2 is still cheaper.
its hard to compare anything to Rigid Industries because they are in a whole other category and are now the fastest growing LED company in the US. i would have compared those other lights against Auxbeam to make it more fair.
Closed captions would have been nice for those of us who need them.
They're available!
I also hear justice off road is really good. love their single 50 in light bar
They may be alright, but they aren't going to be the quality of VisionX and Rigid brands.
I’ve had 4 rigid lights fail. Thankfully all of them were covered but I have had a pair fail within 2 weeks.
Big oof!
@@HeadlightRevolutionindeed. Hasn’t stopped me from using them. I can change them all within 5 minutes.
how is black oak brand of lights?
I'm sure they're a great bunch of guys @ Black Oak, but the quality will not stand up to Rigid or VisionX.
The D2 hyperspot would kill those lights!
Yes It would.
I think Alpena Quadfire still better than both. Is also cheaper
absolutely all LED's require a high quality reflector to project light over distance. To choose the right light for you, check out stage and photography lighting, yep if any company claims new technology then that's their first lie (new technology to them perhaps). We've been manipulating light since we discovered fire.
"patend pending" inscription makes the price rise 200% LMAO
D2 has twice the lumens as the Dually according to Rigid.
1750 is what my d2 hyper spots are I believe and they are way brighter and go farther then those vision x ones
1750 is what my d2 hyper spots are I believe and they are way brighter and go farther then those vision x ones
I like both brands, but it would help (and seem fair and unbiased) if you indicate what the Dually beam is (spot, flood, or diffused) as well as the Vision X - as it is, it seems that, at the very least, the Optimus Dual and Light Cannon are spot patterns based on the tightly focused main beam and controlled spill patterns.
Why dont you try a D2 XL Hyperspot vs the cannon. Compare apples to apples. I bet you wont be as impressed with the cannon after that.
We haven't had the chance to test that product yet, hopefully we will get the chance to down the road and get a video going for you! Thank you for your time and have a great day!
still prefer my d2s for the money of the cannon you can buy like 3 30in chinese light bars or a whole box full of 7in 14led chip fogs from china
Ken Shepard Yes,you are right,LED light in china are very very cheap.
Ken Shepard Yes, and that is an option for you to choose. Just be aware of quality and how long the lights last. We personally have had many issues with random generic products.
Ken Shepard I bought the cheap lights at first. One lightbar, two rear bumper cutouts, and two spots. I have one left out of five. All got water inside of them. They were only subjected to a car wash not submerged underwater. Do not waste your time. I have the Rigid Industry lights now, no problems.
Most people don't keep their vehicles longer than 5 years, you can replace the LED bars multiple times before breaking even on your Rigids (or VisionX)...and that's only in the highly unlikely scenario where they go bad (and multiple times). I've been using chinese setups for years with no issues yet. I do appreciate you not editing the comments section regardless, just be honest in your videos too we can smell that shit from a mile away.
Nasty yellow color. Rigid all the way.
They're both about the same color.
Se manchan con los precios
HRevolution, VisionX, Hyper Spot, Cannon load of wank, pretty sure we can look at other galaxies with the use of mirrors and lenses.
The Vision Light Cannon's beam is terrible. The fact that you can see the square shape of the LED in the beam pattern is a testament of the low reflector quality and poor engineering. I WAS considering Vision lights but you convinced me that they are NOT worth the $$$$. Thanks.
The winner of this match are the chinese LED bars, which, for the same price, will be much bigger
And in 6 moths are full of dew all over the lens on the inside. Then the lens and optics discolor. Then the housing turns grey. Then it stops working after a year.
@@LawrenceDuffy477 And ? you can buy 30 for the price of one of thoses, and a bit of tweaking and they are IP68 not a big deal, better than this rip off
Visionx 6.7 light Cannon..
WTF are those prices ??? LEDs cost nothing today, how the hell did they justify such a rip off ?? What a scam
Its the engineering that goes into the higher quality bulbs. Can you buy cheaper LED? Sure, but how long will they last or how safe will they be for seeing at night? That's the real question.
Now if they could have added telling assholes how not to drive with their brights, light bars and spotlights on all at once, which annoying and dangerous for the oncomer, it would have been a great video.
We figure it's just a given that people wouldn't drive with these accessory lights on, but there's always going to be that guy.
How do these Vision X lights stack up against the Rigid Dually Hyperspot pods?
