A lot more deals. Especially if you got the LX570 route.

Thanks! Yeah we looked at both (really preferred the Land Cruiser) and when this deal came up it made the choice pretty easy.

Great subject to talk about - I always enjoy your LC info. I love my 96 FZJ80 (with the original 1FZFE engine and 281k miles) - I live about an hour and a half from Moab - I can do the 80 miles an hour speed limit on I70 - on the flat portions, however, once you are on a hill it slows down for sure - it would be nice to have more power - yeah, I’m jealous of your power 😀. I am lucky to have a Land Cruiser mechanic specialist in my area - so he handles all the servicing for me. We never think twice about going on a long trip, because it is so reliable. Thank you for the video!

I use to have an 80 but now have a 2017 200. I agree with everything you said. New subscriber.

Great run down. I've had a 60, 80, 100 and now a 200. I've loved them all for various different reasons and drove the crap out of all of them.

Great video Tim and Kelsey, you got a great deal on your 200! Beautiful rig.

Great info. 18 years of supercharged 80 ownership. Had a 100, with the 80, living in Colorado. The supercharger is the saving grace above 8000’. That said, we are now flat landers at the beach, and the 100 is gone. Looking at adding a 200 because the amount of pavement travel to get from the Beach to the Sierra, Mojave, Baja, etc. The 80 is great, but can barely keep up with traffic on the freeways. Like you said, a 200 seems to be the right balance.

It's always tricky to find the right balance but the 200 has been amazing for us.

I feel my 80 with 35s at sea level keeps up with 80mph traffic no problem. Diesel even better, at lower RPMs.

@@CruisingTheLand Same here. You gotta catch it right, though. Sometimes I floor it and it does nothing and other times it downshifts just right and moves. Nothing wrong with my transmission. When the time comes to rebuild my motor, however, I'll be supercharging it.

I believe I have the best of both with 80 axles on my 100. More internal space, a terrific V8 for the highways and the serious off road capabilities of the 80!

Great commentary, I love my 200 and I know it's the better truck for me, but I definitely still search for deals on 80 series trucks daily when I should be working.

Great video. I've had an 80 series for 25 years and it would last another 20, but I want to get a 2016 200 series in a few years for more power and ride quality

Well, I was waiting for this debate for sure. And you probably know my choice 😁. By the way, you forgot to mention the “cool factor” where the 80 wins hands down

Landcruisers, like having many kids. You love them all, but one is smarter than the others, one is more athletic and great at the monkey bars, and one likes to spend your money..

I'll prefere the 80 series. In 2005 I had the Chance to drive the 4.2 Diesel (1997)for prove. Formidable torque. I didn't know the 4.5 gasoline. Very good comparsion. And at end my big symphatie to the United States of America.

Why not both? I have an 80 on 37s and all the good fruit for the gnarly stuff, and a lightly built LX570 for everything else.

Before I watch it I'm going to say - The 80 series can't POSSIBLY be better in every single way, because F/FZ. The engine and transmission of the 80 can't hold a candle to the 200. EDIT: having watching it I can't fault your logic. I LOVE my 80 and it would be hard to imagine myself in anything else...but...when I drive the wife's GX off road I am always blown away how much better it is on washboards and small high frequency stuff and just being a better highway vehicle.

No, with a light build the breaks are sufficient (in our opinion), but we are also used to 80 series...

Great video. I have not owned or driven a 200 series. But I often desire the additional comforts and power that it offers over the 80 and 100.
I have a FZJ80 and a UZJ100 and I tell people all the time that I love them both, but for different reasons.
I prefer the 80 for off-road and the 100 for touring.
