She never went to school to gain formal education but her interests in trees and nature got her the Padma Shri. Tulsi Gowda has planted nearly 1 lakh trees. She did not just plant them, but nurtured them and grew along with them. Tulsi is uneducated and does not know how to read and write. But, she gained vast knowledge about medicinal qualities in trees and plants.
