You will certainly save a lot of money and you can do a really good job if you just work step by step.
@@mikeham7975 buy the oversized riser. For example . My 20 inch concrete round lid is reused as I purchased 24 inch riser and lid.

What size was your old lid? Or better yet what is the maximum size square opening it will work with? I think my square lid is 23.5x23.5”.

Curious.. Do you just use roof tar between the pieces or did you also screw the pieces together? Ours has that option.

What lead you to do this?Were you having drain issues? I paid $250 plus $295 for the pump out here in Florida
The last two times I had my septic pumped they butchered my lawn. I have pristine Bermuda back there so I decided that I need to get it pumped anyway I’m gonna put risers in there so that’ll never happen again and I can inspect it. Plus I kind of like doing that stuff to.

How do you secure it so kids can't open it.
It’s got eight stainless steel screws, holding the cap on each one.
i/4 inch wedge anchors works better in my opinion
I didn't see you install the safety between the cover and tank, that should be a large yellow cap with a hole in the center, it is there to stop a small child from falling in if some moron takes the cover off and walks away for some reason, it is code in most places to have this installed. .

You put the concrete lid back in right ?
@@spencerbrand1257 no once you put the risers on the concrete lids don’t fit and they’re not reused.
