I’ve had 2 Hondas with this feature. Very easy to use and convenient.
It’s actually two systems in one, the traditional parking break, and one while you are in stop and go traffic.
Are you serious? This is the most stupid and unnecessary feature. Old school cars are better, simple and straight forward.
ithink this hold break system can be useful during uphill and downhill climbing
Awesome this will come in handy here in California
NOW THATS useful feature
I rather just use the pedal and hand brake so simple less costly to replace too
Awesome 👏 thanks
Woah Honda's really overestimating MY intelligence!!!!🥺🥺🥺🥺
When you turn the car off, the e brake should automatically engage especially for manuals
With my 2018 Civic sedan EXT 6 speed manual does not automatically engage if I shut off the engine. I have to engage it. Maybe it assumes if the car is in gear, that's all you need? Also, unlike in this video, (which apparently is for newer Hondas) to disengage the parking brake, I have to first press the brake pedal and then release it. I also have brake hold and it does indeed disengage if I push in the clutch, apply gas and let out the clutch to start moving.
"Brake Hold" is operating completely independent of the EPB. Two different brake systems. The Brake Hold will brake all 4 hydraulic actuated brakes. Most people are not avare of this, because this information is not published in user manuals. A few UA-cam videos do explain it correctly.
is it safe for the trans? bcs it only active in d not n nor p
Isn't the entire point of an "emergency brake" in a modern auto to function if there's an electrical issue? Especially on cars with wire throttle and steering?
If you hold it up then you will activate an emergency brake
Does it have any function as an emergency brake in the event of a failure in the main braking system?
It works I tried pressing it while driving
yes it does, pull and hold the switch while driving to do this

If you had failed breaks and power cut out, somebody is trying to kill you, or you have done something very very bad to someone in your life.
Both of these should be ON by default. Or the car should at least remember what was the last setting. My MK7 Golf remembered

Seems like a manual parking brake would be safer
You meant the Hand brake? Sorry I drive manual car the car doesn’t have these fancy features.
Does electronic parking brake keeps engaged if parked for long time and battery runs out?
How to turn on automatic electrical brake system. For an example it will auto turn on when you park your car and shut down your car??
I pressed the BRAKE HOLD button once when I bought my VW Golf and have never needed to press it again. It stays turned on every time I start up the car and drive off. I live on a very steep hill and it makes starting and stopping on a slope effortless. I just can't understand why Honda would require you to turn it on every time you get in to their cars? It's such a shame as I love Honda's.
You are correct, there is no brake hold "memory" in a Honda. You have to push it upon every startup if you want to use this feature. But if I push the 'econ' button, it seems to remember that. My car would stay in econ mode until I either sold it or I drove it to the junkyard if I never pushed it off. But with my 6 speed manual, econ does not seem to give me better gas mileage at all and I have tested it extensively. Since it does rob power and acceleration, I don't use! Why would I?
@@markr.1984 how do you expect econ to give you better economy in a manual? in the cvt obviously it lowers the rpm to be max efficiency all the time but in a manual thats your job. it just dampens throttle response so you drive smoother. i use it when i got chicks in the car or when i gotta drive my parents lol
Does this function also work when you are driving downhill ?
No, if you are driving and the vehicle is moving, you have to press the brake pedal like anyone else.
You need to test it to see how it works
Brake hold seems a risky tech if malfuntion for minor accidenta.
But you have to reopen it every time you start your car :/
How to make it on all the time even when turn off the vehicle?
Too complicated tbh
This is an extremely intuitive feature in many cars, not just Honda
What is so complicated about it? 😂
@@Patient_Lion_BSmaybe the english
Still don't get it.
Try to explain that to the wife/mom that is driving it.
@@Patient_Lion_BSHe needs to be spoken to like a toddler
@@Patient_Lion_BSHe’s just pulling peoples legs man 😂
the more features...electronic...the more likely they can break....oh welll...brakes!
The brake and hold makes no sense if you have the engine idle on
Engine idle turns the engine off. The brake hold will engage the brakes. Two totally seperate functions.
I’ve tried accelerating on parking brake but it never moves.
It's "Brake hold", not "parking brake" 🙂
0:16 it says parking break will release automatically when accelerating.@@snoopdogg2959
Way too many steps..if you rent a Honda ..could easily forget a step.
I hate epb
honda is killing its, republican reputation...I'll never buy another Honda. infact I'm selling mine out..I hate it....howes that honda??? and many feel that way..
😂
