Based on the light novel by Tsutomu Sato, The irregular at magic high school is set in a world where magic exists but instead of using chants and spells, magic users cast spells with their Casting Assistant Device (CAD). The CAD is infused with the user’s Psions (a substance-less thought particle) that activates the device and constructs the magic ritual.

Author Tsutomu Sato has even started writing a sequel series called "Magian Company," and we're not even halfway through the anime compared to the light novel. I think my children and grandchildren will have to finish the job of watching after my death.

@@nuanil It's not that far behind. Up to volume 21 is available now, 22 is out at the end of next month, and 23 is in September. At about 4 months per volume, that's like 3 years to finish the series.
@@TsorovanZero It's 10 volumes behind in the main story, and like 8 behind in the follow up Magian Company, and 6 in the spin off featuring Jyumoni's sisters. And as far as I recall the original publishing date of the original being translated now was a decade ago.

With so many shows that don't continue, I'm glad to see that Mahouka is still going. Every time we get closer to the Yotsuba succession ceremony, I hope that anime-only fans are prepared😂

0:16 For those wondering, he didn't get the Bloom symbol on his uniform, but it's the newly founded Magic Engineering course symbol. This course was implemented as a result of the Nine school competition and the realization of the importance of Magic Engineers to win the competition. Of course it was all due to Tatsuya's involvement.
Makes sense since many engineers wouldnt be as practicaly efficient as the blooms and would still end up in lower classes but by seperating them into a third class it aknolledges types of skills instead of focused on one

Well theres a movie after s2, and a spin off of 12 episodes, which delves deeper into her sister's side of story.
They took away Gojo Satoru from us but gave back Onii-sama who is much more op 😊

At 2:00 I was a bit confused about the names, first its first name than surname, which isnt that surprising for the english/american based crunchyroll, but it seems like only for Shibata Mizuki they made a mistake of having her surname first, followed by her first name. maybe an oversight or they thought mizuki was her last name. kinda sad, because just in the first season, first episode its pretty early on established how similiar the three surnames of Shiba, Chiba and Shibata are in relation to having a chance encounter at the entrance ceromony and getting to sit next to each other.

They've switched studio since the movie in 2017... S2 + the movie & Special are all animated by 8-bit & so is S3
